I Egentliga Colorado 3 miles väster om Paonia, är en Yurt inbäddat på en stor välvda furu däck förankrad med två mogna Elms. Byggnaden är situatetlyd i närheten av norra gaffeln i Gunnison River. The Yurt är en fristad långt från grannar och under siktlinjen och aktivitet av Highway 133. Fastigheten slingrar över och under Yurt för en fjärdedel av en mil längs flodens kant. Det finns etablerade djurliv korridorer för älg och hjort. Eagles, röd tailed hökar, och Blue Heron häckar på egendom eller tvärs över floden. Robins rutinmässigt bebor träden direkt ovanför den skyddande Yurt.
När du anger 700 kvadratfot Yurt, en 14 "hög takfönster infälld i en galen samling av knotiga Aspen, drar dig till dess centrum. Här spis ankare i mitten och de återstående bekvämligheter koppla till utsidan av omkretsen. Här är det full ADA kök och ADA badrum, dubbelsäng, matbord och sittgrupp. Den omgivande floden, kan bergen och odlad åkermark ses tio olika sätt genom 8 fönster och 2 franska dörrar. Tänk på en slumpmässig kompass punkt och där hittar du ett fönster inramning din blick. Det finns en öppenhet sällan ses i standardkonstruktioner. Slice of off season paradise

We enjoyed that tail end of winter, and the start of spring in just a couple night’s stay. The riverside, the hot tub, the fire, what a comfortable respite! We look forward to our next visit already!

Paradise Yurt

This is a truly magical and unique stay. George and Devon assure your comfort. The yurt is beautiful and surrounded by stunning nature. From the deck, you can hear the river or go in the hot tub. Wineries nearby, great local food- it’s one of my favorite places on earth.

Yurt away from home

Peaceful and relaxing property, enjoy closeness to the river and the wildlife...mule deer, turkeys, fox. Perfect place to relax and enjoy Colorado. Hot tub and stars at night aren’t bad either!

Fall Equinox 2024

I booked this as a retreat for me following a hip replacement, a knee replacement and several eye surgeries following a detached retina. All within a short time of each other. It seemed perfect timing to celebrate some well being by getting away for a few days. I found River Walk and knew it was for me! I could not be happier with the beauty, peace and serenity of being in a gorgeous yurt on the river. I hope to one day return!

Heaven on Earth

Our second time staying in this little slice of heaven was as incredible as our first visit. This place is a gem, well kept, private and a wildlife and bird sanctuary. The sound of nature - the birds and river flowing - absolutely soothes the soul. It is a perfect escape from the everyday world, and was an opportunity to completely unplug, relax and recharge. George is an absolute joy and made our stay even more special.

Quiet respite

I spent about ten days at Riverwalk Yurt and had the most restorative and gentle time in Paonia. The property is just beautiful and of course Paonia is the cutest, friendliest town. Thank you George and Devon for the lovely space. I'll definitely be back!!!

Relaxing and extremely clean rental

George has a great spot and provides exceptional care for his guests. The Yurt was extremely comfortable and relaxing. The views were very nice and peaceful. Great weekend away to reset with my wife. We can’t wait to come back.

Perfect Setting!!!

Despite reading EVERY prior review, I was still unprepared for what a great spot this is. It was so peaceful with the beautiful flowers everywhere and the roaring river in the background. The deck was huge and the yurt was wonderful. It was fully stocked with all items you would need. I really hated to leave.....

Glorious connection to nature

This is one of our favorite spots in all the world and we never tire of coming here to reset and quiet the outside world for a bit. The gentle rumble of the river, trumpeting geese, and rustling of the trees bring such restoration to our souls!!

Perfect get away!

My husband and I were visiting a friend in Paonia but wanted our own space,as we have 3 dogs and she has 4. The yurt was the perfect spot for us. Spacious and cozy all at once! Whether you just want to lounge on the deck or drive up into the mountains for a hike the location is great. Plenty of land for the dogs to romp on and we loved that the deck was fenced with a small grassy area to let them out into in the morning knowing they couldn't wander off. The river is so nice if it had been a bit warmer I would have jumped in! Our lab and golden loved it. Lots of hawks flying over and on the last morning a golden eagle soared by! George and Devon are so nice and provided any and all information we needed regarding the property and surrounding area. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place, fun experience.

The yurt and surrounding grounds and mountain view’s were beautiful. Truly what we called, a “glurt.” A glamorous yurt ! The AC given the heat wave in CO during our stay was essential for us, yet the nights cooled down and the windows’ cross-breeze was wonderful. My husband put the hot tub to good use after a hard day of fly-fishing. It was very relaxing. With the drought this year the river out front was a little too low and warm for fishing. However, my husband successfully fished the Gunnison River in nearby Hotchkiss. We also enjoyed visiting the area wineries and their views. We lacked for nothing in the yurt. We had plenty of room between the kitchen/dining area, living room and bedroom areas. We also liked the furnishings/decor. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and large. We loved using the in-yurt music system. Everything was very clean. We loved having all of the windows. Devon and George were great to work with. Devon greeted us upon arrival with beautiful fresh flowers from her gardens. George was very helpful when I locked myself out of the yurt accidentally when my husband went fishing for the day. We would definitely recommend this yurt. A beautiful, private setting and a fun experience staying in a yurt.

A Labrador's perspective

Boy, did we have fun! I'm a five-year-old yellow Lab, and our parents took me and my older black Lab sister to George's yurt for five days. Every morning we got to run up and down the river and splash to our hearts' content. We got to see deer and a a big red fox and I flushed a pheasant (my favorite thing to do)! Our parents must have really enjoyed it, as they were in a good mood the whole time. There is so much to do in the area, both for humans and dogs. We really enjoyed Paonia, a wonderful small town with a real sense of community that my dad said was like going back in time to the 1940s when rural America was the backbone of the nation. Lots of nice places to eat, although our parents didn't bring us any doggie bags. They selfishly ate it all for themselves. We got to go across Grand Mesa and the really pretty Kebler Pass. Our parents stopped a lot to take pictures of all the bright gold aspen trees and my sister and I got to play a lot in the mountain lakes and sniff all kinds of interesting stuff. We didn't enjoy all the wineries as much as our mom and dad did (they wouldn't give us any to taste), but that was OK because we got to watch all the wildlife and the really pretty sunsets over the river every night from the cool walkway from our yurt. My sister and I think the yurt is the nicest place we have ever stayed. We are lobbying for a return trip. And for circular dog houses. We'll let you know how that goes.

George Hall är värd

My name is George W. Hall III and I am a Sculptor with a masters in architecture from UCLA that built the VRBO property specifically for his 85 year old sculptor father. George w. Hall Jr. needed a place close to us to make sculpture,draw,read,and enjoy his remaining years with his golden retriever until the big thumb came out of the sky and squashed them both. We had the perfect location and you are looking at the result of a sons love of his father.The main house, not the rental, was placed on the Colorado Historical Register through the tireless efforts of my wife Devon VanDusen. Trust me, Without her input, your stay would be less enjoyable.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Riverwalk Yurts, in Paonia, Colorado, has the tricked out Riverwalk Yurt, positioned at the top of the property’s riverfront, and as one travels downstream, you pass the Riverwalk Tipi (primitive yet directly on river) and end up at the Grove Yurt (also primitive and on the river) at the bottom. We also have a 2 RV spaces with power and water hookups and a dump station inland of the tipi. We are just finishing up a shower, toilet house for general use for guests on the lower property.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The property is 35 acres that meanders along the North Fork of the Gunnison River. There are 3 small tended fields on the upper sections of the property.This is where the brick house that is on the state register is situated. The lower sections range from unmanicured meadows with random succulents to stands old growth cottonwoods on the river bank. In the center of these trees stands a primitive 30'Yurt in its own natural clearing.
