Good apartment, but not worth the price
We paid (a lot)/night to be here over NYE. Like Ritz Carlton rates. Granted it was the high season, but it's too much for what this place is. The host was great, met us at the door, showed us around, etc, which was not expected. The apartment itself is tired. There was open sewer smell in one of the back bedrooms that never went away (that was bad but we dealt since holiday weekend and not like it was going to get fixed then) A number of lights don't work, dead switches that control nothing. There were dust bunnies in corners, holes in outlets, odds and ends like ancient electronics, wires, etc, scattered from what must be ~2 decades of use. The restaurant on the first floor left a lot to be desired. They make good drinks though, and the host provided excellent coffee (don't drink the stuff downstairs). Neighborhood is great. Easy walking to Zona Romantica along the beach (just past gentlemen of the night and black clad dealers hiding in the shadows by the cliff. They are friendly and leave you alone if you decline politely), and the sound of Mantamar club bumping is blocked by the buildings in the way.
I'd stay here again, just not for the price. Kind of was expecting Ritz Carlton grade for that much money. Sayan Beach building next door was a much better experience a few years ago (before covid) and charged less than 1/2 this price.
