A Slice of Paradise

The ad sounded wonderful
still it didn’t describe this home well enough..it was magnificent!!?Driving into the community was magical. Opening the front door and touring the home was amazing!The home was well appointed, and positioned for the most possible privacy and so very calming.Communication with the owners was easy and they were very responsive. The location was central and so easy to get around.We’ll be back!

Just as we remembered

This was our 3rd stay in this home. As expected it had everything we needed for our island vacation. The location is very quiet and accommodations very comfortable. Mark has always been responsive and very easy to work with. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this Fairways condo. It was spacious and very well stocked. We really appreciated all the items that the owner made available to us such as beach chairs and snorkel equipment. Thank you for making our Hawaii vacation so enjoyable!

Best stay yet!

This is our 4th trip to the Big island and the best stay by far. Beautiful, clean condo... Our host was extremely helpful and responsive and his place is perfect! We had everything we needed... Linens, Beach chairs, Beach toys, pool access, Beach access app in a great location. Can't wait to come back and stay longer!!

Wonderful Place to Stay at Mauna Lani!

We absolutely loved Mark's place! It was the perfect location at the perfect resort. Close to golf, the beach and groceries. Clean and very nicely decorated it was a wonderful place to call home while on vacation. Mark checked in regularly to make sure we were ok and answered questions promptly. The bedrooms are very large and the king size bed in the master suite is extremely comfortable. We were also very pleased with how quiet it was at night. We will be returning!

Just absolutely lovely

My husband and two sons stayed in this lovely condo for 2 weeks. It is spotless and beautifully decorated. The pool is steps from the condo. There are plenty of chairs, they were never full and a soothing waterfall! It is a short walk to the beach where we watched the sunset very night. Perfect for sunset viewing. The Fairmont is within walking distance and they have a wonderful spa and restaurants. The grocery store, coffee shop, and juice bar are all within walking distance too. This condo is the best location in Mauna Lani. Quite and relaxing! We will stay here again.

Mauna Lani Stay

The property was very nice overall. Very beautiful grounds and also clean and quiet. We did have some challenges with the "smart home" light switches and the thermostat and wish there had been an instructional notebook for the condo for the thermostat, and TV remotes (very confusing). Also there was no screen door on the sliders to the lanai and the screen on the entry door was very difficult to open and cose and was torn on the bottom.

Well equipped unit. Excellent value.

We had a very nice stay at this unit. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal. The decor and furnishings are nice. The bedding was very comfortable ( we are planning to purchase the same brand of pillow as it was fabulous!). The location of the unit was very convenient to the pool and although the unit faces a commons area (with a lovely view) we never felt a lack of privacy while sitting out on the patio or upstairs balcony. The Fairways complex is very nice and this unit is an excellent value. The pictures don’t do it justice. Only hiccup was no bath soap or body wash in either bathroom but Foodland is 3 minutes away so we could find it there. I assume this was just something that cleaning staff missed restocking before our stay.

Deceptive listing

Unfortunately the listing and price of unit is based on number of guests which was never disclosed. Sleeps 4 was listed, we fully paid for 2 guests, then invited friends and rate was raised $54.00 per night. Informed 2 weeks prior to booking and not able to change booking or deny friends usage. Unit is nice but extremely uncomfortable outdoor furniture and dining chairs. We left Tommy Bahama umbrellas and owner chose not to reimburse. And uncomfortable having a ring video camera at unit
 seems invasive. We will never rent this unit again and we love other condos at Fairways Mauna Lani.

Odd Experience

Pros-nice location, very clean place, quiet Cons-just days before your trip you will suddenly receive a lengthy contract from the owner chock full of warnings and legalese. Which at this point you have to sign or forfeit your money. Next the whole place is a “smart house” which the owner controls remotely and we quickly discovered he watches you come and go thru his doorbell. This raises the question of what else he’s watching or listening to. Sets a creepy tone in a light-hearted place like Hawaii. Next comes the fight over the AC with no instructions for how to use it (and you won’t be given any). He keeps it at 74 degrees but it ranges above the set point so it goes higher than that. With the heat and humidity it was so stuffy in this place we were really uncomfortable. He didn’t respond to our email request to have it lowered (you have no direct number for this guy) but without telling us at some point he remotely reset it to 70. It still cranks right back up the minute you leave (he’s watching). Place heats up again and you have to fiddle with the thermostat over and over and wait for it to cool back down. This back and forth continued the entire time. He then went ahead and charged us for lowering the AC from “his” level and took a substantial amount out of our $600.00 damage deposit to pay for it. So if you prefer your own AC level be aware it may be assessed as a damage. Weirdly you will be warned not to move anything in the unit. Don’t adjust furniture or any items and they must be left exactly how you found them. Uh. Okay. Not here to do interior design but whatever. Overall the entire experience with this owner was unpleasant despite the nice unit. I hesitated to write about this because he will lash out at anyone who says something negative and blame them, but if you go further back in the reviews other people note these same issues and worse. Unfortunately we only read the first few reviews.

The property owners have a lovely and comfortable property. One of the best equipped kitchens we have experienced. The lanai is the most secluded in the entire compound and most enjoyable for grilling and dining.

Happy Repeat Customer

This is the third time my family or I have stayed in this lovely home. Mark is a great host who promptly answers any questions. Kitchen is wonderfully equipped, linens plentiful, and beach chairs, snorkel gear, cooler are provided. This Fairways location overlooks a large tropical garden and is a short walk to the pool making this house perfect for adults looking for quiet and also entertaining for the younger guests. Other area amenities include a handy grocery store and access to the "owners beach". We look forward to returning!

Luxury Plus Great Location

Beautifully furnished, short walk to pool (not heated) and hot tub with waterfall. Shortish walk to Foodland, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, coffee and other shops. Extremely comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen.

Family fun at Mauna Lani Golf Villas

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Mauna Lani golf villas. The property was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We especially loved the house tiki and personal touches throughout - it felt like a home. The lanai had lovely pool and garden views, and it was great to grill and relax at the outdoor table. The kitchen has everything you need, and we enjoyed making some great meals with local ingredients from the nearby marketplace. Having access to the Mauna Lani beach club was a great benefit that we used a lot. The private pool area that's right outside from the property was wonderful as well. We appreciated the updated laundry room and being able to refresh our beach towels and swimsuits that were getting funky while we stayed. A truly relaxing and wonderful stay on the beautiful Kohala coast. We hope to come back!

We had a great stay! Unit was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed to enjoy our time on the island - cooler, beach toys and towels, chairs and umbrellas. My son loved being close to the pool. We’d definitely come back again!

relacing and convenient

I felt like I was being in a luxury resort. The accommodations were spacious, well cared for and clean and well equipped. I enjoyed the pool but would have liked to have access to the fitness center.

Purchased this home on our third visit to the Big Island of Hawaii! We have made Mauna Lani our home and truly enjoy the Kohala Coast and the world famous Mauna Lani Resort!

Great location in Mauna Lani close to shopping, Petroglyphs, Fairmont Orchid Hotel, walking distance to the beach, what is not to like about the Fairways at Mauna Lani.

Easy access from the Kailua-Kona Airport, in a 5-star resort, with fabulous beaches in the dryer Kohala coast. Close to shopping and fine dining. Included access to a Beach Club, known for excellent snorkeling and swimming. Tropical park-like area with a pool, hot tub, and covered pavilion at the center of the development. This townhome is equipped with a private barbecue and wrap-around Lanai. The upstairs master suite also has it's own private Lanai. Please enjoy and let us know if you need something not listed.
