The Summit Room Suite at Summit House is a private, self-contained suite ideal for solo travellers or couples seeking quiet, space, and natural beauty. Located within our fully off-grid timber-framed West-Coast style home, the elegantly appointed vaulted ceiling suite includes a king-sized bed, a spacious ensuite with a freestanding shower, a private exterior entrance, and amenities including a mini-fridge, kettle, coffee station, and outdoor BBQ â perfect for relaxed mornings or evenings outdoors.
Summit House sits on a 200-acre forested property overlooking the Saanich Inlet and Todd Gowland National Park across the Inlet, with over a kilometre of natural shoreline, a seasonal waterfall, nature hikes and regular sightings of local wildlife, including bald eagles.
Just 20 minutes from Victoria or Mill Bay, the property is close to the Malahat Skywalk, island wineries, and other outdoor destinations. Itâs also a convenient base for exploring the Cowichan Valley, or a short ferry ride to Sidney for a day trip to the world-famous Butchart Gardens.
Guest access
Guests have full private use of the cabin. The main house is nearby, and the owners are on site should any assistance be needed.

Summit House offers a quiet setting for guests looking to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. To help preserve this environment, parties and unregistered guests are not permitted.

Both originally Irish, Frank and Sheila have called Vancouver Island home for nearly 40 years. A large part of that time has been spent operating businesses in the hospitality industry where they have had the opportunity to connect with interesting people from around the world, and to showcase their beloved new island home. Frank loves history, including local lore, and Sheila is an accomplished musician.

Malahat is a small community in the Cowichan Valley, surrounded by lush nature and stunning views of the Saanich Inlet. The Malahat mountain summit is considered one of the most sacred sites on southern Vancouver Island, with one of the best summer micro climates on the island.
