Casa da Veiga is a traditional Minho house located in Vale do Mouro, in the parish of Riba de Mouro, in the municipality of Monção. Without losing its vocation as a farmhouse, it has been restored and adapted to receive those who âcome for goodâ in comfort and tranquillity.
We invite you to get to know the land and share the landscapes and harmony of rural Minho with its people. The cuisine is as simple and wise as the people. The flavours of stew, rice in brown sauce, roast kid, ham, sausages, bucho, which is sweet here... and then âlet's toast with vinho verdeâ. Walks and hikes through the village, the river beach in summer, or more daring adventures to the chapels of Santo AntĂłnio de Val de Poldros and Senhora da Guia, with their unique landscape and heritage, guarantee those who visit us a unique experience!
Riba de Mouro is located on the slopes of the Serra da Peneda. A land with mountains, with fields sown to maize, rye and wine, it has been called Mou, S. Pedro de Mou or S. Pedro de Riba de Mouro throughout the ages. It is believed that Riba de Mouro was founded as a parish between the 9th and 12th centuries by the monks of the Monastery of Paderne.
