This cute cottage is comfy, cozy, and in a beautiful location. We love the quiet setting and wonderful screened in porch. The cottage is so close to Lake Michigan that you can hear the waves. There is a functional kitchenette, spacious sitting area, and very comfy bed with luxurious bedding. The only downfall of this lovely place is the shower- it's not for tall people!

Wonderful, charming little cottage tucked in the pines of beautiful MI. Perfect for two with everything we needed! The gas grill was a plus too. Fantastic location right across the street from the park and lake with beach access. Even ventured to Fenn Valley Winery for an outdoor concert on Thursday. Close to Saugatuck & Douglas . We will refer it to our friends - and definitely be back!

The cozy cottage is on a beautiful property and near to the beach and a park.There is not a real kitchen: the only possibility is to cook on the grill.Also do dishes is really hard considering the small sink and the space available.The bed needs some improvement.But what disappointed us was to pay the cleaning fee (very high for one night) when we found the place not really well cleaned on our arrival.

It’s the perfect space for a romantic getaway for 2. Couple downsides was the WiFi kept going out so it made watching movies a bit of a pain. The bed was comfortable and bouncy , I was a little concerned about if it would be warm enough and it was perfect indoors. The cottage could’ve been identified better it took a little walking around to find the house, there’s 4 houses all close together. We used a side drive to the small drive way to park right by the cottage. There is a small parking area by the street but no path to the house. Now that we know the layout of the area we’d be back for sure in the summer time to be able to fully explore the area.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. The beach was within walking distance and town was just a short drive. We would definitely stay again.

We had a relaxing stay at this studio type cottage. Easy access to Lake Michigan across the street and through the park. We especially enjoyed the spacious screened porch for reading. Perfect for a long weekend or week, limited only by the small kitchen and small shower/bath. Short drive to Douglas/Saugatuk restaurants and Grand Rapids attractions.

weekend getaway

This turned out to be a fantastic location for us--visits to Saugatuck Dunes state park, to Holland, and a nice neighborhood for a morning run. The cottage was charming and we loved the screen porch for evening relaxing time.

A quiet cozy cottage by the lake

My husband and I needed a getaway from reality and this place was perfect. We were able to shop, enjoy some great food and relax on the beach. (all minutes away) Westside County Park is awesome and I even found some sea glass. Loved our stay and would definitely stay again!

Quiet Cottage by the Lake

The best part about this cottage is it's central location. I loved being able to walk to Westside County park and go down to the beach. The cottage is also close to South Haven, Glenn, Fennville, and Saugatuck. There are lots of beaches, antique stores, and restaurants within I0-15 minutes by car. It's a great place to kick back and relax.

Very nice stay

Only a short distance to county park with Lake Michigan's beautiful sugar sand beach. A cute small cottage, nice and clean. Good size for 2 people. The owner was friendly and showed us inside. There is no stove, but has a grill and microwave. We enjoyed it.

Adorable cottage in a great neighborhood

This cottage is bright, clean and welcoming. The bed is super comfy with high quality bedding and pillows. We loved sitting on the porch with the cute lights both day and night. It's very close to a gorgeous beach. We loved everything about the Lakeside Cottage except the tiny shower, 4 cup coffeemaker, and the very narrow driveway. I was disappointed with the very cheap paper products so I would suggest bringing your own. We would gladly stay there again.

Spent most of the time on the nice screened in porch. Most people opt for a "cabin" rental for privacy, but there are several close neighbors. There is no clothes closet. Big drop off in floor separates the living area in half. Bed sinks in to the middle of matress. Must wait a while for water to get hot again after first person showers. Bathroom door hits toilet to enter. Kitchen facilities minimal at best. No place is perfect, but just want to be honest about shortcomings. Location is great - across from nice park and 1,000 steps down to beach.

Nice but tiny

The place is tiny with a big step up/down from the bedroom/livingroom space the I fell off of in the night. Wish it had been better equipped. 2 coffee pots but no coffee. Dishwasher detergent but no dishwasher. Laundry detergent but no washer/dryer. No kleenex. Hand soap was empty. Just stuff like that which required a trip to the store. But the location was great, the screened in porch wonderful, and it was cozy and cute.

Overpriced for amenities

Detractors: The kitchen was the equivalent of a hotel kitchen: undercounter dorm-sized fridge & tiny coffee maker. Not having any way to cook food was costly (to eat out so often) and disappointing; my fault for assuming there would be cookware and some way to actually cook food. The sagging bed was not comfortable for two people. Tiny shower was smaller than our trailer’s, hot water lasted for one shower at a time. Positives: Location and proximity to lake access was great, park & beach were lovely, especially on non-weekend days (weekends were very busy and populated but overall, folks were respectful). Location close to Douglas & Saugatuck was nice, though they were also crowded on the weekends. Anne at Jacqua realtors was great; very accessible and responsive to questions & concerns; she was a pleasure to work with! I would absolutely recommend Jacqua management.

We really enjoyed our stay at this little beach cottage! It was exactly as described—small and simple, and absolutely perfect for two.Our favorite feature was the large screened-in patio. With all the windows throughout the cottage, there was so much natural light, and we loved being able to enjoy the peaceful wooded surroundings. The bed and seating were comfortable, and the gas grill was a nice addition. We knew ahead of time that there was no oven or cooktop, so we brought along a small camp stove and had everything we needed.The location was wonderful. It’s just a very short walk directly across the street to the public beach—about 60 steps down—and the neighborhood itself is quiet and peaceful. There are restrooms at the beach, and you can walk north along the beach without restrictions. If you enjoy rock hounding, this is a great spot!A couple of small things worth knowing: the cottage has a very small shower, which we were aware of from previous reviews, but the hot water ran out after one person showered. An on-demand water-heating system might be a worthwhile improvement. We also found it surprising that there were no coffee filters for the small 4-cup coffee maker. It’s a minor thing, but since the cottage is about 20 minutes from a larger grocery store, they aren't necessarily something you can easily pick up nearby.Those small inconveniences aside, we absolutely loved our stay and would happily return. We definitely plan to stay here again!

The shower backed up after a 5 minute shower and took 40 minutes to drain. My husband could not then shower because we had to be somewhere by a certain time. There were ants in the bathroom, kitchen, and one crawled on me while I was sitting in a chair. Small ant bait traps would help. Bed seemed more like a full than a queen. The screened in porch was the best feature. There is a Keurig coffee maker which we didn't see in the picture so we had brought ours from home. The fridge is small but was adequate.

Hello There thank you for your feedback. However, we did reach out to you about getting our plumber out there asap to unclog the shower drain as well bring out ant traps and you never replied to us. Everything since you left has been taken care.

We enjoyed our stay! There were a couple things that we had not noticed in the listing that caught us by surprise - there is no kitchen, and the bathroom is very tiny. That was a minor hiccup- not a big deal. The location is great, and the cottage is clean and comfortable.

thank you Kate for your review. Yes, it does state in the description that it is a small studio (with no kitchen). The cottage is very popular in the summer due to its location (right across from Westside County Park) and between the towns of Saugatuck and South Haven. Thank you :)
