new added fence. Some pictures wont show the new fence. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. The quiet of the outdoors moves into the cottage. Fenced in backyard for your fur kids. We have a grille 3 bedrooms one bath at the Lakes of the north community area. Club house with pool, Golfing, Restaurant and bar, with trails for you Side by side to snowmobile. We won't have full pictures set until 5/20/2023 since we are doing updates to the whole home including deck, fenced in backyard, sliding door to deck. Thank you! maybe the blackout curtains are just perfect for a good night’s sleep. This area occasionally experiences power outages due to the remote location of the Lake of the North community. This happens 3-4 times a year and may affect both electricity and internet services during those times.

Great cabin for a snowmobiling trip

Cabin was great for our snowmobiling trip and the pool was great for the kids. Cabin was clean and perfect for a weekend away. The host was great and very responsive to all our questions. Great place for a weekend getaway for everyone!

A wonderful country getaway

The host is very accommodating and quick with communication. The cabinet was so cozy, and comfortable. My wife said it was cute and quaint. My teenage daughter just loved it. The large fenced in backyard made it so convenient for traveling with dogs. The beds were comfortable, and I had everything we needed or wanted, the record player was so nostalgic we had to go and buy one after staying there. Would give six stars if possible. We will definitely be back.

a relaxing & fun stay

it was a nice stay. the wood stove kept the house nice & warm. was quiet & peaceful. store wasn’t too far of a trip so that was nice also. would stay there again

Fall color tour

Great place to stay, clean and nice. We went to the clubhouse to use the pool and had our guest application. We were charged a fee to enter the pool, this was not disclosed in the booking description. We paid the fee but this was rather disappointing it was in the description prior to booking.

Lakes Of The North Stay

Amazing time staying at Jason’s cabin. Located close to ski resorts, Jordan River Pathway that had amazing hiking, and the pool access provided with the cabin was perfect for our boys. We would definitely recommend for people who like to get out and adventure or kick back and relax and enjoy nature.

Mancelona Snowmobiling trip

Absolutely had a great time, the cabin was perfect. The trail systems run right behind our location, and got us out on the main trails in a matter of min’s. Setting restaurant was decent with a full bar, and regular food, not just bar food. I will be booking again.

Peaceful and lovely

Lovely home, well appointed and clean. The owner being dog friendly was so important and my girls love the large, completely fenced in backyard. The WiFi worked perfectly. Looking for peace and quiet…this is the place!

3rd visit

This was our 3rd time visiting this property and our first time staying a full week. We were blessed with great weather and swam at both beaches but pencil beach was our favorite even though it’s smaller but the water is beautiful! We did a day at the pool and many days on the trails. Our dog loved the early morning walks on the nearby trail! House is always clean and welcoming, the deck is my favorite spot by the fire table. We plan to come back 😊

Very Nice Place

Spent a week at Jason's place mid July. Was a work trip, but familiar with the area and wanted a change from life in Ft. Lauderdale. Jason was responsive for questions, place was immaculate, and property was very nice, quiet and secluded. If you are looking for this sort of place, this would be a great one to consider.

Wonderful Stay

Jason's cottage is clean, comfortable, and quiet - all the things I look for and appreciate when traveling. Modern tech amenities (for remote working) and fun decor were a definite plus. I travel solo with one of my pups, and the fenced-in back yard was perfect. At night the solar lights out in the yard beyond the fence amid the tall trees turned the area into a fairy land! It's a lovely 25 minute drive to Gaylord or Mancelona if you want supplies or are looking for lots of stuff to do. I've been VRBOing for 20+ years - this was one of my favorite places. Thanks, Jason, for sharing!

Great location for outdoor fun

Great location, with access to hiking, swimming, small towns, etc. in Northern Michigan. House is fairly small but suited our family of 5 well. Back yard and deck are terrific. And the owner is nice and easy to communicate with. Only complaint is the house is very sparse. No toiletries, very little in terms of kitchen/cooking supplies, etc. Several parts of the house inside and out are showing some wear, but nothing too bad. And the shower often soaks the bathroom floor when someone uses it; you have to be very careful, and often dry up the floor afterward. Also, when we were there, the indoor pool had been drained and closed but we had no idea when we booked. The place is good (and location is great). Just recommend stocking it and giving it a little TLC for renters.

August stay

This place is tucked into a private neighborhood and has a nice fenced yard. The yard is still a work in progress and minimal grass so be aware if it’s muddy and you have dogs that you will want to bring something to wipe their feet. Our dogs loved exploring the yard. The deck and all the seating outside was nice too. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom as the stairs were not carpeted and it would have been a lot for the dogs to go up and down. The bedrooms looked nice upstairs though too. There is no gate to block the stairs off so a baby gate would be ideal or just get creative. Make sure to bring your own keurig cups for coffee! There are a couple grocery stores roughly 20 minutes away. The bathroom door and bedroom door were both hard to open and close due to how tight the door frames were-maybe due to humidity, but no way to not wake up your significant other when trying to get out of room. This location is close to many other locations so it’s convenient to get around. Host was quick to respond to any questions I had too which I really appreciated!

I had an amazing time over the weekend. It was so nice to get away for a while and just relax. The place was very clean and well kept, it was a very comforting, cozy, and quaint experience. Ive already recommended not only this specific cabin but VRBO in general to all of my friends. My dogs loved it, there was a spacious backyard and a beautiful back deck to lounge on. It started snowing yesterday night as well, and watching the snow fall was such a peaceful experience for once. Comunication is very important to me when it comes to trips like this, and to say Jason was excellent in keeping in touch would be an understatement. Very polite and quick with replies, he helped me out with so much. I cant express my gratitude enough. All in all, the property, the host, and the experience were all 100/10 and I will GLADLY be planning another trip out there as soon as I can!

Very cozy home

The home was exactly, if not better then we anticipated. I took my 2 kids, my mom and our small dog. The home was very cute, beds were comfy, tv was easy to figure out. We did have a little trouble figuring out the air conditioner, but only because we were stupid...lol...we realized you had to Point the controller at the system. There was even dog bowls and a couple toys for our fur baby to use. The only thing that was a little concerning was the fenced in back yard, there were some small high spots in the back of the link fence. But we just kept an eye on our pup and she didnt even try to get out. If the owner could just bang the poles down a little bit it would be PERFECT. Its wasnt a deterrence at all, just maybe something that could be looked at. Home not far from Mancelona, where there is a family fair grocery store, and dollar general. There is also a little bar restaurant and pool in the community. We didnt have a chance to make it there but when we go back we will make a point to. There were also 2 bikes for use, the male bike could use a little oil on the brakes but my son and daughter were super excited, we were going to bring bikes but decided not too. Definitely lots of places to explore with the bikes. My kids very much enjoyed them. We couldnt talk about it more, we WILL DEFINITELY be back.

We loved the stay!

Everything was really excellent! We used th kitchen and there was all the equipment we needed for us to eat and drink. We would love to stay longer for one more day but, the house was already booked and we couldnt stay longer. Overall, the house was really nice and we recommend for other people to stay here too!
