Welcome to Mountain Terrace Lodge! Enjoy your visit to Western North Carolina in this spacious, custom-built, 5000 square foot home that includes the main house with an apartment suite. You will have full access to Smoky Mountain Country Club amenities including the golf course, fitness room, pool, hot tub, sauna room, and tennis courts.
All roads to the house are paved - there are no gravel or dirt roads. Ideal for large groups or families, this entire property contains 6 bedrooms plus a bonus room with 8 beds, 4 full bathrooms, 2 full kitchens with walk-in pantries, 2 laundry rooms with a washer and dryer in each, and central heat and air conditioning. You will enjoy free wi-fi with high speed internet, and there are 8 smart TVs throughout the house for you to sign into your own streaming services. Multiple entertainment areas allow for guests to spread out and enjoy the airy, open spaces. Arcade games include Street Fighter II Champion Edition and Pac-Man. There is free parking inside the garage for 2 cars and free parking outside on flat concrete surface for 6-7 cars (depending on vehicle size). For families with young children, a Graco Pack-n-Play and Ingenuity SmartClean high chair are available upon request. Children will love the hidden play area in the spandrel. Self check-in/check-out are done through an electronic keypad.
We are conveniently located near many towns and areas of interest including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (12.5 miles), Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (7.7 miles), Sequoyah National Golf Club (5.4 miles), Bryson City (8.5 miles), Deep Creek Trail (8.2 miles), Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort (8.1 miles), and Sylva (15 miles).
Bedroom configurations are as follows: Bedroom #1) bunk bed - 4 twin mattresses, Bonus Room) queen bed, Bedroom #2) two queen beds, Bedroom #3) suite with lounge area and king bed, Bedroom #4) bunk bed - 2 twin mattresses, Bedroom #5) fold-out Murphy queen bed, and Bedroom #6) king bed.
This spectacular home features lush outdoor spaces for all to enjoy. There are 3 furnished decks with a small creek running next to the rear deck. A new grill has been added as of February 2024! Children can play on the wood swing set, use the basketball hoop, or hang out in the playroom above one of the storage sheds.
HOUSE RULES: 1) No smoking/vaping, drugs, or illicit substances of any kind, 2) No parties or events, 3) No fireworks, 4) No use or discharge of firearms on premises, 5) Type of pet allowed: dogs, and 6) Must be at least 25 years old to book, and the booking guest must be an occupant throughout the rental period
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: There is a maximum capacity of 18 persons including infants/children. Occupants exceeding the stated number of guests on the rental reservation will be charged an extra guest fee of $50 per person, per night.
PET POLICY: We love animals and are happy to welcome a maximum of 3 dogs per stay. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate other types of pets at this time. Dogs must be housebroken, and a non-refundable pet fee of $200 per dog per stay will apply. In general, we do not recommend leaving pets alone in an environment that is unfamiliar to them. However, we trust that you know your pets best and will choose strategies that will keep them safe and minimize risk of damage to our home (i.e. crating, not leaving them home alone, etc.).
RENTAL AGREEMENT AND SECURITY DEPOSIT: The booking guest must sign a rental agreement, provide a copy of a government-issued photo ID for verification, and submit credit card information to confirm their reservation. Once all the above items are received, door access codes will be provided 24 hours prior to check-in. A $600 security deposit will be HELD on the credit card for any extra cleaning fees, repairs, or damages incurred. If there are no additional charges for damages/repairs/extra cleaning, this credit card hold will be released within 3 days of check-out.
SELF CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT:
Check-in: no earlier than 4:00 PM EST
Check-out: no later than 10:00 AM EST
Due to the large size of this home, our cleaning team requires adequate time to clean and prepare for the next reservation. Any exceptions to check-in or check-out times will require written approval by the host. Guests who check out after 10:00 AM EST will be charged a prorated late fee of $200 per hour.
STARTER SET OF SUPPLIES: We provide a starter set of supplies including 1) K-cups and ground coffee for Keurig K-Duo machines, 2) paper towels, 3) toilet paper (2 rolls per bathroom), 4) dishwasher pods, 5) dish soap / hand soap, 6) shampoo / conditioner / body wash, 7) trash bags / liners for wastebaskets, 8) laundry detergent pods, and 9) dog waste bags for those guests who indicate in the booking that they will bring their dogs along. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to replenish after the initial supplies run out.
SECURITY: For safety reasons, there are 3 exterior security cameras that are not monitored but record video and sound 24/7. They are motion-activated and overlook the driveway to the main house, the entrance to the apartment suite, and the backyard. There are no interior cameras, and no interior areas are visible on any of the 3 exterior cameras.
INSECTS AND WILDLIFE: You may encounter insects and wildlife during your visit. We have regular comprehensive pest control performed, but it is impossible to keep a mountain home completely free of pests. To minimize insect entry, please close all doors and windows when not in use. Avoid attracting unwanted attention from other wildlife by not leaving food outside and by placing all trash in the proper receptacles.
WEATHER CONDITIONS, UTILITY DISRUPTIONS, AND PARK CLOSURES: No refunds will be given outside of cancellation policy for things that are beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, power outages, other utility service interruptions, any park/recreation area closures, and inclement weather conditions or natural disasters. Cell phone service is limited in the mountains. Please plan accordingly. Travel insurance is recommended.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Guest receives 100.00% (less $100.00 cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs at least 14 days before arrival. Guest receives 50.00% (less $100.00 cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs at least 7 days before arrival. No refunds within 7 days of arrival.
CONTACTING HOST: Communication with the host is best on the reservation messaging platform. The host is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM-9:00 PM EST and from 10:00 AM-09:00 PM EST on weekends and holidays.
