Cozy retreat

We had a wonderful time at the guest house. It was clean and comfortable - we really enjoyed the big yard for our dog and the screened in porch to relax on. We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful spring getaway

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time returning to our favorite Newtown VRBO. We’ve stayed here before and loved it. The wild turkeys greeted us again each morning, and we enjoyed coffee on the patio taking in the beautiful views. We hope to come back for future visits!

Relaxing weekend at a beautiful and comfortable cottage

I loved staying at the cottage on this property. The entire property is beautiful, well-maintained and in a great location. Not too far from anywhere you'd want to go. I am thinking of booking the cottage at this time next year.

Very well maintained and peaceful.

The cottage is comfortable, clean and although "in the woods" it is about ten minutes from the Metro North rail station in Bethel, CT. From there day tripping to NYC is a breeze.

Business Trip with a twist

Excellent getaway without the long trip.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this guest house. The property is well-kept, private, quiet, and well equipped (we especially appreciated the screened in porch with the BBQ), and the location is convenient to the many Connecticut attractions. Its a excellent getaway without the long trip. The kids didn’t want to go home—and neither did we!

Perfect rental!

Had the most perfect stay at Janet & Steve’s guest house. Our dog loved the space to run & play in the backyard, and the rental was exactly what we needed for a 4 day stay in Connecticut. The bed is SO comfortable - we had the best sleep we’ve had in months! Thank you, Janet for being the perfect host. We can’t wait to come back again!

Perfect for what we needed

Incredibly cozy cottage on a beautiful property. The king size bed is very comfortable. My kids loved running around the yard and the porch doubles the size of the cottage. We live in the area and needed a place to stay for a bit.

Great escape

The weather was so-so through our 5 day stay but it didn’t really matter. We loved the space, the location, the country atmosphere, and that amazing deck. I spent as much time out there as I did inside. The host were very accommodating and great to interact with. I look forward to staying here again!

Cosy cottage !

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 week stay in Steve and Janet’s sweet cottage and surrounding property. We loved hanging out on the porch, there is a newly updated kitchen and the bed & air mattress were super comfy! Candlewood Lake is close enough to enjoy some boating and we took full advantage of all the farms in the surrounding area. Great find!

Peaceful Retreat

The grounds were spectacularly lovely in the way that subdued Connecticut way. Peaceful. The screened in porch added to the size and charm of the cottage. The house itself was comfortable. The kitchen was surprisingly well equipped for its size. It was a perfect peaceful place to retreat from the world for a little while.

It was just what we needed for an escape...a beautiful, peaceful location and the house was just right for the two of us and our dog. Plenty of needs taken care of with the kitchen set-up and the screened in porch was the best! We spent most of our time out there as the property is just so lovely that the view alone was worth the trip. As was the trip to Ferris Acres Creamery for a hot fudge sundae! Would definitely go again....it must be gorgeous in the fall.
