Unusual facility in a usual place

Family had great fun. Exploring four floors, many gargoyles, and crosses. Great weather and great fishing in August.

A castle in the fields

The castle was very unique & interesting. One of the favorite things was that each bedroom had its own attached bathroom. That will be hard to beat at other VRBO's we may stay in the future. :)

Fun family Thanksgiving retreat

Our family had a wonderful time at this interesting, unusual home. The kids loved all the fun decor, nooks and crannies, and extensive stomping grounds outside. They absolutely adored the “secret“ projection room; it became their main gathering spot. The adults mostly congregated in the large, comfortable living room, where we kept a wood-burning fire going almost continuously. The kitchen is excellent for large groups. We appreciated that there were plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, coffee mugs, and silverware to accommodate our group of 13. Plus it was stocked with every imaginable appliance and gadget a chef could want! The beds were very comfortable, with snowy white linens and nice warm covers. We were also obsessed with the massage chair in the master bedroom! It’s a huge house and very hard to keep the entire place spotlessly clean, I’m sure. It could stand a deep cleaning at some point, but overall it was nice enough. We would definitely come back to this fun castle!

Wonderful Birthday Trip

My kids enjoyed “playing castle” all weekend. The other adults and I enjoyed the peaceful setting. Everything was better in person. We would return.

It is as amazing as is stated!

We were extremely comfortable. Two families had 3 kids each, then there were four additional adults and we were all comfy. There are more than enough areas to get away and read or relax away for the others if needed. There are enough things to do to keep the kids entertained. It is a wonderful get away place. I would suggest if you have a few older adults to bring a step stool the beds are really, really high! We are already talking about doing it again!

Great property with lots to do

10 guys stayed for a total 3 nights for a fantasy football draft. Plenty of stuff to do at the property from golf, to fishing, to horseshoes, to beach and swimming. Highly recommend the property. Beds were comfortable also.

Multigenerational getaway

What a great place to stay for the entire family. Everyone had something to do. The pond was great and not too far from the house which was an added benefit.

Everything was fantastic!

Everything about the process from booking to check-out was great. Mitch and Debbie were very communicative, and the property itself was perfect for a large group gathering. The castle is enormous and extremely well-kept, and the outdoor space is beautiful. I highly recommend staying here!

What a treat!!!

What a treat it was to stay in this incredible castle! Much like being in a museum or staying on a Disney property. Everywhere we look, inside and out, there is a conversation piece or something fun to do. So many thoughtful details! It was the perfect landing spot to meet up with family and celebrate Thanksgiving and my husbands 49th birthday. We are heading home having made lots of great memories…we’ll be missing the kitties.!

Cooking and outdoor play

We love cooking and kitchen was well stocked with pans and tools and outdoor grills. We enjoyed pontoon boat & fishing & time on the decks. Hostess put out costumes for the kids to wear! Lots of space for outdoor games (bring your own).

fun at the castle

the property was a s advertised. The kids ha d a lot of fun swimming and fishing and reading the gest book. I would have been happier if it had been a little cooler but the place was awedome.

Cool place, great hospitality

Loved our stay here, perfect for a quiet getaway. We loved spending time on the lake, playing board games in the large dining, and the well stocked kitchen. Only thing is that the 6th bedroom is actually the movie room with a sleeper sofa, our group could have read the listing better - it wasn’t the biggest issue we just didn’t have enough comfortable beds/bedrooms for our group of 11. Overall, wonderful place to stay and the host was very communicative and ensured we were comfortable!

Wonderful family get away

Spent 2 nights here for my birthday and Father's Day w/our daughter, son and 6 grandkids. The house is over the top fantastic! Lots of rooms for everyone to spread out. Beds were comfortable and there is a bathroom in every bedroom. Couple of the grandkids loved sleeping in theater room on pull out couch. A bad storm came thru hours before our arrival but the grounds were gorgeous despite the fallen branches. There is something for everyone to do here: the fishing was great & pontoon boat with trolling motor was great to fish from. Swimming was enjoyed by kods and adults alike. Everyone enjoyed playing pool. Kitchen is well appointed. Only thing we could have used was a pitcher for making iced tea but we improvised with a couple of oversized measuring cups. Property manager, Debbie, is very accommodating and answered all texts promptly. Only disappointment - and it was fairly minor - it that the telescope in observatory did not work - appears to be missing a cable. Will definitely recommend to friends and we look forward to booking another stay in the future!

Castle Stay

The castle is amazing. Large rooms, comfortable, great kitchen for cooking. Grounds are well kept. It is far from the city, so you really feel like you are out in the country. My family liked the movie room. It was perfect for all of us to get together for a birthday celebration.
