If you love the serenity and privacy of the mountains, this place is absolute perfection. It was so clean you'd think we were the first people to ever stay there. It's a great location as it's an easy drive up to Breck or south down to the Hot Springs & Salida. We capped off every night enjoying their massive hot tub. Ann & Jarred were super responsive and made everything very easy.

This was the best vacation rental we’ve ever stayed at! The home was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and well appointed with all the supplies we needed. We loved sitting by the fireplace on the deck surrounded by trees and watching a herd of elk run by while soaking in the sparkling clean hot tub. The location felt remote and in nature while still having all the modern luxuries and being less than 10 minutes from town. You can tell the host takes pride in offering a top notch vacation rental experience. Thank you for an excellent stay and we hope to come back again!

Amazing & Beautiful

ColdSmoke Cabin was awesome. Peaceful and quite with amazing scenery. On our drive in we saw a Cow Moose and its twin calfs. Hot tub was relaxing, could see so many stars at night.

We really enjoyed our stay near Fairplay. The house was easy to find. The gravel roads in the area are very bumpy, but in decent shape. This property isn't too far into the neighborhood, so trips to town aren't long. The house is surrounded by beautiful trees and feels secluded. Other than an occasional dog bark or vehicle passing, all we heard is wind in the trees, squirrels and birds. Plenty of space for kids to explore safely. The house is within a 10 minute drive of the Pennsylvania mountain and Pika hiking trailheads. It was a short trip to Breckenridge for some activities. 45 minutes to Buena Vista for rafting and we hiked to the top of Mt. Sherman, a 14er. The hot tub is fantastic and is clean and serviced on Wednesdays as advertised. We have used VRBO a lot and this is the cleanest and best supplied property we have rented. The host was responsive and had thought of everything. They supplied snacks, some grooming items, lots of spices, condiments and every cooking item you could ever need on vacation. The record player is a nice touch and history lesson for the kids. The king bed is firm, but extremely comfortable. Foam pillows were also nice. I'm very selective with rentals, and I highly recommend this one.

I loved this place. Very peaceful. Didn’t want to leave. The host was excellent. The grounds were more beautiful than the pictures suggested. The home was lovely. I would stay there again! Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Cold Smoke Cabin. Ann goes above and beyond to provide all essentials and more; including snacks upon arrival, spices, condiments, q-tips, cotton pads, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! The hot tub was amazing and we loved the games and coloring books. I especially loved the record player. The beds were comfy and Ann was very prompt when we had any questions. FairPlay is a quaint small town just 30 min south of Breckenridge and about 40 north of Buena Vista.
