A great place to unplug

We really enjoyed the secluded nature of this cabin yet close enough to go to town and see some historic sites and do a little shopping!

Wonderful Retreat

We loved our stay at Windymile Cabin -- the views are beautiful from sunrise to sunset. The cabin had everything we needed and the location is perfect. The fenced in yard was a plus for our dog -- and he loved the cows! Look forward to going back.

Windy Mile awesome

We throughly enjoyed our stay! Quiet and comfortable. Beautiful scenery. Cows, deer, squirrels and majestic hawks.

A beautiful view and great location with lots to do. Our dogs loved the big fenced yard, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Our only regret is not staying longer to explore the area more.

Great getaway with the pups!

If you enjoy staying in a place with a scenic view and love your privacy, then this is a great place to stay! We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and being able to share the experience with our pups was priceless. We will be back

Lovely and tranquil getaway

This cabin is a perfect getaway spot for a small family or group of friends. Gorgeous mountain views and sunsets! The cabin is well equipped for cooking. Owners are very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Graduation Stay

Needed a clean & comfortable place to stay that was dog friendly for graduation. This was an excellent choice! The house is as described and even though it’s only 600 sq feet you do not feel cramped! We had 4 adults and 2 labs. The beds are comfortable and even has extra blankets if needed. You know no one has slept on your sheets because you make your bed with clean sheets provided. Loved that! The owner worked with us for a quick check in as we were running late for graduation. Ms. Audrey was a great communicator and always replied with an answer quickly. Very quiet, private and picturesque. Plenty of cows, deer, rabbit and beautiful skies! Would recommend for a short or long stay!

Peaceful views

The expansive views and peaceful setting were just what we needed to relax and rest. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen or on the grill and enjoyed eating on the picnic table outside. Our dog loved the fenced yard and we spent as much time as possible outside taking it in. The cabin is clean and functional and well-stocked but the real draw here is the outdoors. Audrey the host was responsive, sweet, helpful and a pleasure to work with.

Breathtaking Views!

We had a fabulous stay at this very nice cabin. The cabin itself was very clean and maintained with a fully stocked kitchen. The nearly panoramic views of the mountains were unbelievable with beautiful evening sunsets. There is no shortage of peace and quiet with the cabin far off the main road. The owners were extremely helpful with suggestions about activities and were very knowledgeable about the area and much of its history. Natural Bridge was an easy drive and made for a nice day trip. The Maury river is very close by and we had a nice hike and picnic at the river. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing get away.

incredible views!!

This property is absolutely incredible. We stopped here for a two night stay on our way from PA to TN, and we really wished we could have stayed longer. The views all the way around are so beautiful. The cabin is very clean, and the fenced in yard for our dog was the best!! Our 3 boys loved playing ball with her out there and we loved watching the cows, who made their rounds every day. Watching the sunset over the mountain, and the gorgeous rolling hills, making s’mores at the outdoor fireplace
 it is truly a slice of heaven on earth. We also spent the afternoon hiking at Natural Bridge State Park, and then took a drive through the Virginia Safari Park- both places were awesome! We definitely plan to return for another stay in the future!!

Peaceful secluded getaway

Pulling down the long driveway, passing open fields, looking at the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains we knew immediately we picked the right spot. We just sold our house in CT and are in the process of moving to NC. We needed a peaceful place to stay as we wait for our house to be completed. We stayed for 12 nights and would have stayed longer if there was availability. We brought our two dogs and the fenced in yard was perfect! Waking up to the cows near the fence was such a neat experience for the dogs. Check in was quick and easy. The cabin had everything we needed to cook dinners. WiFi worked well which was great to get schoolwork done. The sunsets were incredible! We will be back next time we need a private getaway!

My 14 year old daughter and I stayed for 3 nights while she competed at a show at the Virgina Horse Center. It was lovely to have a peaceful and relaxing place to come back to after our long and exhausting days at the VHC. Communication with Audrey was great from the start. The property and views are gorgeous, especially each morning as we left at dawn for the show. The beds are comfortable, plenty of hot water, well equiped kitchen, and the washer and dryer were a godsend. Can't recommend Windymile highly enough.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My family and I took a trip up from Florida while I had some work in the area, and we were hoping for a relaxing place to stay that was still close to everything and this was absolutely perfect! The views were beautiful, the open space was great for the kids to run and play and we were just minutes from hiking, swimming, great food and downtown. Check-in was super easy, and the home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Audrey was wonderful to communicate with, too. We’d definitely come back!

A wonderful respite!

If you are looking for a place to breathe fresh air with a view of pastures and the mountains, this place is for you. The owners were accessible for questions about local happenings with a quick text. The fenced-in yard and no steps anywhere were great for our dogs. The stars were incredible. The kitchen is well-supplied. If you want something more than taking in the view and relaxing, Lexington is a cute town and is just 20 minutes away. We'll be back!

We built this Lexington Virginia Cabin in 2010 due to the quiet setting, and the proximity to The Goshen Wildlife management area. The recreational opportunities are without compare. Its proximity to Lexington VA and The VA Horse Center make it an ideal location for a Vacation Destination in the Shenandoah Valley of VA

The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and southern Shenandoah Valley in this quiet setting are without equal. It is just two minutes to Goshen Pass, with its swimming, fishing, hiking, and canoeing. It is 6 miles to the Horse center, with no stop lights!
