Lovely Rural Getaway

We had an awesome time staying here. Wonderfully restored barn converted into a house, with nice grounds. Definitely hope to return. My daughter loved feeding the chickens!

We had a wonderful stay! The property was perfect for our family of four with two active boys (ages 6 and 4). They never got tired of watching, feeding, and learning about the chickens—it became one of the highlights of the trip. Having that experience right outside the door was a great way to keep them entertained while we packed up in the mornings and unwound after our daily adventures.The location made an excellent base camp for exploring the area. We visited waterfalls, lakes, hiking trails, and charming historic towns, all within a short drive. After each full day of adventure, it was so nice to come back to a peaceful, comfortable home where we could relax and recharge for the next day's outing.Robert was a fantastic host. Communication was easy from start to finish, and he provided clear, helpful information about the house and property, making everything simple and stress-free.Our boys were genuinely sad when it was time to leave and return to our city apartment, which says a lot about how much they loved their time here. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to other families looking for a peaceful nature getaway.

Beautiful spot!

My colleague and I stayed overnight for a work event nearby. We did not get to spend enough time at the barn home! It was beautiful, private, and filled with entertainment. The chickens are adorable. I hope to come back when I have more time.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay

I am hesitant about leaving this review , because once people find this place they like me are NEVER GOING TO WANT TO LEAVE !! This property was absolutely wonderful.. Fresh chicken eggs for breakfast. Comfortable bedrooms one with a massage chair and foot massager . Everything you need !! The protector screen was a nice touch as well ! Thank you Robert for an incredibly comfortable stay . I look forward to returning.

Memorial Day weekend 24’

Robert’s “Barn home/ chicken farm “ is simply amazing , there is not too many places ( like his place) for rent in this particular part of Columbia county in NY state , Standard and quality simply equal to the price for the place , Kids didn’t want go back home after one night, Robert very responsive and patient. Barn is in the middle of nowhere, end of pavement and gravel roads Mixture of old school home with modern touch is just on point Chickens are great , friendly and curious, Definitely we will come back for lil bit longer Jakub , Emma, Sofie, Simon

Rustic Charm Meets Perfection – A Barn Stay to Remember

An Unbelievable Stay – Pure Magic from Start to FinishThis place is something else. From the moment we pulled up to this stunning post-and-beam barn we knew we had found something special. We spent our unfortunately limited time hiking mountain trails with gorgeous views and just soaking in the peace and quiet. The friendly chickens, the deer and bunnies wandering by—it felt like stepping into a fairytale.The inside of the barn is just as magical. The sun streams through the windows and lights up the whole space, making it feel so warm and cozy. There’s a self-playing piano (!), a huge projector screen for movie nights which we loved, and the comfiest couch and rocking chair ever. Everything is so beautifully built—pine everywhere, wooden pegs with no drafts. It was super easy to keep perfectly cool or warm depending on the time of day.It’s peaceful, it’s private, it’s beautifully designed—just a total dream. EVERYTHING was thought of for you...every little detail.Also, the communication with the owner was so easy. We even accidentally left something that he mailed to us right away without any hesitation.Honestly, this barn stay was unforgettable. We didn’t want to leave. If you’re looking for somewhere truly special—this is it.
