A fairytale getaway

My fiancé and I stayed here for a month. I am from Texas but was in VA beach for my internship (:We also brought our two pups who LOVED IT!This place/hosts are amazing! For starters, I am an over packer when it comes to long stays because usually (even hotels) will not have essentials that one will need for a long trip. Do not worry about that because the hosts here go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and that you have everything you need!After long days of internship work I got to come ‘home’ to the most adorable horses, cats, and even sometimes puppies!This is the perfect in/out of town stay! So many locations are just around the corner but you get all of the fun of the farm!I will 100% be staying here again and I HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting VA beach or even if you live there to book this location and get to experience the lovely getaway!If the hosts are reading this, thank you SO much 3

Great Thanksgiving Visit

The Stable Retreat was perfect for what we needed. We were there for a quick visit for Thanksgiving with my son and his wife, who just had a new baby 2 weeks ago. We ordered dinner from a local restaurant and the hostess had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner. She even added extra platters and butter! Our 2 year old grandson loved the horses. It was comfortable and fun. Highly recommmend the location!!!

Wedding Trip

My family and I were in town for a wedding and stayed here. Host was super nice and very communicative! It was perfect for what we needed especially with our dogs. Such a quiet and peaceful place! Highly recommend!

Peaceful Getaway

The Stable Retreat was wonderful. The owner rescues horses and dogs. I got to feed the horses carrots everyday and participate in helping a shipment of dogs get introduced to their adopting families. The rest of my stay was very quiet. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. The kitchen is well equipped. I got in after dark. Sali greeted me with dinner and a bottle of wine. She went over the top to give me a warm welcome!

Best VRBO Ever!!

My family and I have been to a handful of VRBOs over the years, and this cozy, welcoming place takes the cake! Everything from reservations, communication, check-in, amenities and the apartment was more than we expected. They do a wonderful job at making you feel welcome and comfortable. The host's mother, Sali, is such a delight and very helpful. We can't say enough about her kindness and generosity. Besides all this, the grounds are so relaxing with the horses and views. Our 3 dogs loved their stay just as much as us!! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!!and

Don’t want to say to much

Everything I wanted for our family. Bed room bigger than expected, location perfect 10-15 minutes most places beach stores activity’s. Son turned three at this location couldn’t of had a better family vacation with birthday cake

A bit of green heaven-super convenient to downtown but peaceful and remote!

Came down to explore the beaches and get some R&R. This site was perfect for us. You are 15 min from downtown and the Sandbridge beaches (recommend that over the boardwalk), and yet it is so green and lush you feel you are miles away. Surrounded by horse farms. Upper balcony is great for morning yoga :) Sally is super kind and helpful.

Best beach vacation - Don’t hesitate to book!

We absolutely loved this property!! Very clean and tastefully decorated. Super pet friendly… we brought our two dogs with us and they felt so comfortable staying here. There were extra things for the pups like bowls, leashes, shampoo, towels, baby gate, and even a dog bed. The fenced in areas for our dogs to run around off leash were awesome. The host was so gracious and welcoming. Really went above and beyond. Took the time to meet us in person, gave recommendations of places nearby to visit, and had a fully stocked house. Provided things like toiletries, paper products, tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, drinks, bag of ice, and even a few food items in the walk-in pantry. Plenty of extra towels, bedding/blankets, and pillows. Location was excellent. Quiet, relaxing, serene farm. Close to nearby attractions. Beautiful property with friendly horses onsite. We were even provided a bag of carrots to feed the horses - so fun! As an added bonus , the owner gave us free tickets to the Military Aviation Museum which we really enjoyed! We were able to relax, recharge, and unwind. I cannot say enough great things about this place and owner. Highly recommend! Will definitely be returning. Thank you for everything! :)

The best of both worlds

Many thanks to “Stable retreat”. this place was truly wonderful. The best of both worlds. If you want the beach life, it’s 20 minutes away, but to come home to peaceful country life is so serene! Beautiful landscape all around. Room to run for the dogs also. We will be back Toni ,Debbie, Phoebe and Bella

Best kept secret

Felt far away from the city noise yet city living was nearby and easy to navigate. Waking up to sunshine, endless greenery, horses happily munching along made for a perfect getaway. I felt safe with my two young daughters and my two dogs settled in quickly. Upon arrival I was informed of all the rescue work Sali is involved with which made me fall in love even more. This retreat embraced me and my little family and offered a safe haven for all. Would love to visit again!

An oasis

We had an incredibly relaxing stay at the stables. Drinking morning coffee while watching the horses and chatting with Salli was the highlight of our trip! Hosts were so accommodating to us & our pups-by far the most pet friendly place we’ve stayed!

Satisfaction guaranteed!

Extremely satisfied. Private, secluded and quiet environment. Gorgeous sky, surrounded by beautiful horses. Serene atmosphere. Plenty of room, clean, and comfortable. Just minutes from the beach and mall. Plenty of room, and outdoor space to accommodate guests. Also a plus was the television, fresh water cooler, plenty of clean linen, blankets and towels. The rooms were spotless! The puppies, enjoyed the fenced yard and we loved the decks to overlook the awesome landscape. We will recommend and shall return in the future! It’s a must visit!!!

Great place to stay!

I can honestly say this is the only VRBO I have ever fed horses at. The house is great and being able to look our the window and see horses in the morning was great. Would definitely stay here again!

Starry skies and great neighbors

Very relaxing and comfortable retreat. The owners were very gracious and welcoming. Lots of horses in the neighborhood, and a great petting zoo near by for the kids and adults to enjoy. Trails were enjoyable and the dogs loved the freedom to run. We were amazed at the night sky with little light pollution impeding the stars and moon. Many nearby shopping options and easy ride to the beaches, parks, and wilderness refuges. We enjoyed Thanksgiving at the Retreat and look forward to future visits.

Nice place, beautiful property!

We were greeted by James upon arrival. He was very friendly and informative. The property with the horse pastures is beautiful and sitting on any of the 3 patios looking out at the horses was so peaceful and relaxing. The Stable Retreat itself was well stocked. We didn't cook meals there, but it appeared like it had anything we'd have needed. The hosts responded to our concerns quickly and took care of our needs. We enjoyed our time here.

wonderful home away from home

My 2 dogs and I stayed for a long weekend to attend a dog show locally. The house, deck, and gated dog run made it absolutely perfect for me and my dogs to enjoy our down time and for them to have a spacious gated pasture to get exercise The bed here is EXCELLENT, extremely cozy and clearly a great mattress. The owner of the property happened to be at the stable one day and took me and my dogs on a hike with her dogs. She was so welcoming and kind and also shared an amazing seafood recommendation that I took her up on on the way out of town. The home is convenient to many restaurants, Walmart, a dog water park and a dog friendly brewery. We can’t wait to plan our next trip here!

Wonderful

Clean and comfortable spot, hidden down a private gravel road. Enjoy one of the two decks by watching the horses run and play in the pastures. You will feel like you’re in the middle of the country but there are plenty of things to do outside of the home. The hosts are very accommodating and responsive. love this little gem and will be back again.

Beautiful property

This property was amazing. Close of enough to the beach. Very peaceful and what scenery! Our doggo loved it! There is a petting zoo around corner! The barn house was beautiful. Plenty of space and parking. Beautiful outdoor deck to unwind and watch the horses! Would highly recommend!
