Elk Hollow Lodge was a very rustic and cozy stay. Karen was welcoming. The staff of the lodge were kind and informative about the area. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was satisfying. My cousin and I enjoyed our stay.

The property was convenient to Ricketts Glen State Park and we were able to pair a day of hiking with a nice day at the lodge. We enjoyed a hot breakfast in the morning before driving home.

It was very well maintained, the room was clean and tidy. Karen was very welcoming, kind and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and activities we could do. The food was excellent. Thank You for having us

The room was great for a night's stay. Breakfast was great! My wife and I were a little worried when the room's only heater was a plug-in mobile unit, but it kept the room temp right where we wanted it.

Karen is a wonderful host and the breakfast was outstanding. The area is beautiful, trout streams are all over and Rickets Glen is amazing. Would love to go back

Karen the innkeeper, cook, maid, handyman and chief bottle washer is a national treasure! Understand the room is primitive, with no tv or in room refrigerator or coffeemaker. However that’s the charm. It’s a trip back in time. (Except for the excellent internet signal, which is mostly non existent in that valley) The homemade quilts on the beds. Knotted pine walls. The clock radio alarm clock from the ‘70’s. Awaking to the smell of bacon cooking in the kitchen downstairs. And of course Karen’s delicious home cooking and friendly chats. It’s a fun step back in time and we really enjoyed it. Thank you Karen!

Ricketts Glen weekend

Perfect place to stay if you're visiting the falls at Ricketts Glen. Comfortable rooms with a cabin like atmosphere . Excellent breakfast and a short drive to the falls trail.

Place looked clean, matched advertised photos well and price was not bad. However, sheet on bed was soiled/stained in multiple places. In addition to the stains was a blue patch in one area with a gooey substance stuck to the under side of the sheet. Realized that this must have been a tide-pod or something similar stuck to the sheet so its obvious they are running sheets through the laundry - but that should have been caught when making the bed (the blue stain and goo should have been easy to spot). I texted owner with pics and asked for a new sheet - which they did without question. I suspect the sheets had been wash and that the other stains were set in permanently - but it just doesn't look good to get ready for bed in an unfamiliar place and see that. be aware there is no cell service there (at least not for verizon). Also, it was a surprise to find the restaurant was only open for breakfast & lunch - resulting in taking a 30 minute drive to a location that had a decent choice of places for dinner - that makes it much less convenient.

Everything was pretty much as described, though the included breakfast in continental and a full breakfast can be purchased at the restaurant affordably.It's about a 10 minutes drive to Ricket's Glen.

The host was fantastic! The place is clean and comfortable. Close to Ricketts Glenn State Park to walk through Falls.The restaurant serves delicious means for breakfast and lunch.Everyone is kind, efficient, and caring!We definitely want to go back! Hopefully sooner than later!

Quiet Retreat in PA Mountains

The Elk Hollow Lodge is a hospitable retreat and the morning coffee and breakfast are second to none. Karen is the best host you could ever ask for and there realyis no better place to relax and recharge in a quiet little off the beaten path retreat. Love it.

Charming and rustic

We had a great stay! My partner, our Greyhound, and I stayed two nights. We hiked nearby at Ricketts Glen State Park, about a 15 minute drive. The B and B had a small continental breakfast with coffee, cinnamon rolls, fruit, and cereal that is included in the cost of the room. You can also order from the restaurant menu, and put it in the tab to be paid before leaving. Karen was very welcoming and answered all of our questions. The room had all we needed for a cozy stay. There is not a fridge in the room, so a cooler was helpful. There was ice for sale on the front porch. The atmosphere was quiet and serene. We’d love to come back! the

Remote and Rustic

Love the distance to Ricketts Glen obviously and how remote it was. Our room was nice and big and even had soaps and things in neat packaging in the bathroom, which would’ve been great to use if we hadn’t been in a rush to get out the door due a flat tire in the morning. A downside was that we weren’t the only ones staying in our room-definitely signs of mice, eek! And honestly, we live in an old home, it happens, I get it, but there was a lot of mouse poopies everywhere, which is extra gross when you have a two year old who likes to explore everything. It was a holiday night we stayed and off season, so maybe rooms aren’t checked as much, but, considering check in wasn’t till 3 maybe a once over with a quick vacuum would take care of the signs of mice. Again, nice stay, breakfast as promised, easy check in, smelled fresh, easy to get to even though it was secluded, just a little grossed out by the amount of mouse scat.
