5 min. stroll to Downtown Mckinney! Family & Pet Friendly Cottage

Relax with your family and friends at this inviting modern oasis. Recently updated (EVERYTHING is brand new; floors to showers, countertops, indoor/outdoor furniture and appliances!)

**Location?**
This cottage is a short 5 minute walk from Historic Downtown McKinney which features restaurants, pubs, bars, shops, wineries, and so much more.. It is also conveniently located close to hwy 75 for easy access to explore more of the Dallas area.
Our cottage is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bathrooms (towels provided). The bedrooms consists of 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 1 sleeper sofa. We also have another sleeper sofa located in the living room. Each bedroom and living room have smart TVs/Roku devices and also a dedicated workspace is located in 3rd bedroom.

We know what its like traveling with kids (we have 4!) so we have also provided a pack n play and umbrella stroller located in the king bedroom closet. A high chair has also been provided in the kitchen along with kids dinnerware. Fun family board games and children's books are located in the tv console for additional entertainment!

As for pets, we've provided a large dog kennel that can comfortably contain your pets indoors, as needed. (holds dogs approx. 30 in long, 23 in tall, ~70 lbs). The kennel is located in the storage shed on the side of the cottage.

Our kitchen is fully equipped and includes both coffee and tea options.

The back patio/deck is perfectly secluded and surrounded by bamboo to give you the privacy. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the new fire pit table that seats 4 comfortably or lounge on the sectional sofa. We also have a grill out on the patio/deck (extra propane tank in the storage shed, if needed).

You can almost always find live music in downtown Mckinney any day of the week. Some of our favorite spots to eat and have drinks are:

-Mellow Mushroom
-Koji Sushi
-Landon Winery
-Baron's Creek Winery

Real fun place for the kiddos is Arcade 92 (great mix of old school games such as pin-ball machines, to new X-box PlayStations, arcade games... vintage meets modern!)

Tupps Brewery is also a must stop by and see..

*For kids & pets* Finch Park is located just west of the cottage, another 5 min. walk. Finch Park was completely renovated in Oct. 2022 and now features a gigantic playground (with attached SPLASH-PAD for those Texas summer days), pavilion rentals, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, pickleball courts, looped walking trail, restroom facility, and charcoal grills.

Little further from Dallas then I was hoping to be but that was on me as I should have checked location a bit better before booking. Only suggestion I would bring up would be another couch in the living room area as there was a group of us staying and no place to really sit and visit. Quiet neighborhood. Shopping and grocery close by.

Quaint cottage

We came to McKinney for a family wedding and decided to rent here instead of the hotel. What a great place! So beautiful and had all the extra items needed for a weekend stay. Communication with hosts was timely and they even checked in on us via text to ask if we needed anything. Very clean. Everything was perfect!

Great place to spend time with Family

Very nice, clean house. My only suggestion would be to clean the outdoor furniture routinely in the back, especially, and in the front. We would’ve used the space if it had been clean. All-around wonderful place to stay and very responsive owners. Enjoyed my time there. Host was responsive and great to work with.

Look no further! This is the best stay in McKinney.

This beautiful cottage is appointed and decorated to please the most discerning taste, yet casual and comfortable. We wanted a location close to downtown and this is perfect! The beds were very comfortable. The hosts were amazing, and checked on us by text throughout our stay. The check in and check out was so easy. The backyard deck is so cute, comfortable, and private with everything you need to enjoy the outdoors, including a fire pit. Can’t say enough good things about this property and the hosts. Look no further!!!

Cute cottage in a neat neighbourhood

First and foremost we enjoyed a fine stay! The cottage was charming and proved to be a great base from which to explore. Top-notch location - quiet but literally just a 5 minute stroll into historic downtown and the fabulous shops, hospitality and frequent festivals. Technically it's a 3 bedroom property but may work best as a 2 double bed with a useful office/dressing room. It's all pleasantly decorated and pretty roomy. There's an easy flow from the kitchen through the diner to the generous open plan lounge and the front porch is a boon on a warm summer night after a hot Texan day. The kitchen, diner and drinks bar were well stocked with the usual, slightly mismatched, array of housewares in just about the right numbers to make life civilised. Significantly the bed in the master suite was really comfortable! I could end this review right there because we had a tremendous time and the following observations are minor details: I'm sure the host's prep is usually more thorough but the outside bins were smelly and fly friendly (like they'd missed a collection). There was an empty bottle by the bed and a random pair of black pants in a draw (unfortunately the British definition of pants). The en-suite's sink tap delivered less than a dribble of water and the shower took a while to warm up. Enjoying the back yard was not an option as the 'weather covers' had been dislodged from the seating so leaves had collected in unattractive puddles of stale water - bit of a shame.

A comfortable space for a relaxing weekend

This was a perfect spot for our small gathering of friends! We enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood, the front porch, and the short walk to downtown McKinney for food and shops. The large front living room worked great as a space for us to all spend time together. The kitchen also worked great for meals we made ourself. This property will be at the top of our list for our next weekend get-together!

Great location and host.

Location was excellent, as walking distance/close to Historic McKinney downtown. The home was well stocked in kitchen as well bathrooms/linens. Beds were comfortable, but carpet and walls were in a bit need of repainting/cleaning. Thomas was readily available for any assistance/questions and was a great host.

Family visit

Quick weekend visit to see family. Great location convenient to restaurants and shopping. Clean and well kept. Rainy weather all weekend so didn’t get to use grill or porches. We’ll be back!

Great location, very nice place

Very clean, location is perfect. Great outdoor patio with grill and high top fire pit. The owners were on top of any situation. House had 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms t.v.'s in all rooms!! I'm coming back!!
