Some info about the neighborhood:
Welcome to Logan Square, one of Chicagoâs most vibrant and historic neighborhoods. Known for its tree-lined boulevards, classic greystone architecture, and lively arts scene, Logan Square beautifully blends history with modern culture.
*A Bit of History
Named after General John A. Logan, a Civil War hero, the neighborhood is part of Chicagoâs historic Boulevard System, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The iconic Illinois Centennial Monument, designed by renowned architect Henry Bacon (who also designed the Lincoln Memorial), stands proudly at the heart of Logan Square.
What to See & Do:
Stroll the Logan Boulevard Historic District with its stately homes and green medians.
Browse local shops, vintage stores, and art galleries sprinkled throughout the neighborhood.
Catch live music at The Logan Theatre, a beautifully restored 100-year-old movie house that now features indie films, craft beer, and events. Another amazing spot walking distance for live music is Rosa's Lounge on Armitage St with live jazz and blues music! Perfect spot for a date night!
Spend a Sunday morning at the Logan Square Farmers Market, one of the cityâs best, packed with local produce, baked goods, and artisanal finds.
A favourite date-night venue of my husband and I is to grab a glass of wine and charcuterie at Lardon and head to the speakeasy next door called Blue Bird. This is about a 8-10 minute walk from our home.
A bit of Trivia for you!
**Just steps from Logan Square, Chicago has deep ties to two icons of imagination. Walt Disney was born in 1901 at a modest home on Tripp Avenue in nearby Hermosaâonly a couple miles from here. And in 1899, L. Frank Baum penned The Wonderful Wizard of Oz while living on Humboldt Boulevard, right next door to Logan Square. Together, these neighborhood connections remind us that Chicago is not just a city of architecture and foodâitâs also a birthplace of timeless stories that shaped childhoods around the world.
