Välkommen till vår timmerstuga i den pittoreska floddalen Cucharas, omgiven av San Isabel National Forest, bekvämt utanför Hiway 12, Scenic Hiway of Legends.

Njut av de charmiga städerna Cucharas & La Veta precis längs vägen, spela några rundor på Grandote Golf Course, designad av Tom Weiskopf, vandra många bergsspår, fiskbjörn och blå sjöar, eller lägg fötterna upp på däck och titta på solnedgången över dalen.

Från vår trevliga stuga, nyligen uppdaterad, kommer du att höra Cucharas-floden rusa strax nedanför fastigheten. Vi erbjuder en plysch full säng med angränsande komplett badrum i sovrum 1, en plysch queen size-säng i sovrum 2, och en plysch queen size-säng och uppsättning våningssängar i 3: e sovrummet, tvärs över från det 2: a fulla badet. Ett fullt utrustat, rymligt kök, stort bord för måltider och spel, vacker sten spis och bekväma möbler väntar. En tvättmaskin och torktumlare i full storlek ligger bekvämt mellan sovrummen.

En platt-TV med endast DVD (ingen TV-tjänst) och videobibliotek tillhandahålls samt pussel, böcker och spel. Gratis WiFi finns i Cuchara.

En favoritaktivitet är en 45 minuters vandring upp till de spektakulära geologiska dikeformationerna strax bakom stugan, där du kommer att förbise en avskild dal ... ta en picknicklunch och en bok för en perfekt eftermiddag.

Eller ta en 10 minuters promenad till Cuchara, där du går tillbaka i tiden. Njut av levande musik i Dog Bar eller ät en elegant middag på Timbers restaurang, spela en omgång putt-puttgolf eller bläddra i butikerna efter skatter.

Precis tvärs över Hiway 12 hittar du öringfiske vid Bear och Blue Lakes eller bara slingra den vackra vandringen mellan sjöarna. Kör upp till Cucharas Pass, där de äventyrliga kan vandra West Spanish Peak.

En härlig dagstur är 2+ timmar till Taos för shopping, lunch, mer shopping och tillbaka till kabinen i mörker. Eller upplev en åktur på gamla tiden Cumbres / Toltec smalspårväg, också på vägen till Taos.

Tillbaka vid stugan kan du koppla av och njuta av kolibrierna från däck, ljudet från floden och eventuellt en björnplats. Det kommer att finnas mer att göra i morgon!

The best little getaway

With my mother aging, my sister-in-law, my daughter, and I love taking her to Cuchara. She loves to hear the streams and see the beautiful mountains. I love this cabin, we have dubbed it, "our cabin". It is always super clean upon arrival and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need.

Best little cabin

We've stayed here several times throughout the years. We absolutely love it! We love the 70's feel and the cleanliness of the cabin. The internet is hit and miss but we're on vacation and want to enjoy the beauty around us.

Beat the Heat in Colorado

Very nice, relaxing stay! Cool temperatures were refreshing. My grandsons enjoyed playing in Cuchara Creek and we all fished at nearby North Lake.

Cuchara Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin in Cuchara. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels and linens. The cabin is in a beautiful location close to many recreational opportunities. Thank you to Janet for offering up your cabin for rental and to Shella for keeping the place so clean and tidy.

Tucked Away

Really nice little cabin. Back deck was awesome, secluded by trees and could listen to the creek below. Cabin was well set up and the host and caretaker did an really great job at communicating with us prior to and during the stay.

Beautiful but no service

The property was beautiful, a little old and out of date but nothing that took away from the experience. Hummingbirds we’re so awesome. Location was absolutely stunning, there is a trail in the neighborhood that has an incredible view from the top of the mountain. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside was that the owner did not let us know that there would be absolutely zero service within a 10 mile radius. When we got to the property, we couldn’t log into our phones to see the check in code. We had to drive about 15 min out, get service, pull up reservation details and come back. Would have been nice to be told to have that information ready prior to arriving. Was not fun to do that after a 10 hour drive. Also, there was a coffee maker but no coffee. Bring your own so you can sit on the porch in the morning!

Wonderful stay

The location of the cabin is in a beautiful area. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it if you are able to stand the altitude. We Texans had a little trouble with the altitude.

Oktoberfest getaway

Very nicely appointed cabin close enough to Cuchara and La Veta for short trips. The location is great-secluded yet with enough to do nearby. The online listing does need to be updated, as the golf course in La Veta is no longer open, and Cuchara is two miles away, not a 10 minute walk. Otherwise, we had a great weekend!

A nice place to stay for business or pleasure

We needed a nice place to stay while visiting our rural property. Much nicer than any hotel anywhere close. We would like to return to this cabin when visiting the area in the future. Only negative is all the neighbors are very close in proximity.

Love Cuchara

We had a great weekend at your cabin. Thank you so much did sharing it with us. The deck was amazing and really enjoyed drinking coffee and listening to the river from there. The cabin had everything we needed to fix breakfast and dinner. There was plenty of space for our family of 5. The cabin is a short walk to a great hiking trail and also close to town. We enjoyed our morning walks and great fishing at Bear and Blue lake.

Fun Family Weekend

Had a great weekend with family in this rustic cabin! The cabin was very roomy and spacious for the 6 of us. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped. Went on a couple of great hikes while there. Would definitely stay here again!
