Detta mysiga sjöhus byggdes av en av de ursprungliga tyska forskarna som kom till jobbet i rymdprogrammet med Werner Von Braun på 1950-talet. En grupp av dem byggde hus i denna lugna vik i sjön Guntersville eftersom det påminde dem om deras bergiga ursprungsland. De var kända för att spendera timmar på att arbeta i sina vackert anlagda trädgårdar och samlades sedan på sen eftermiddag för att simma eller flyta på flottar och besöka vänner och grannar i den lugna sjön.

Huset är perfekt för att rymma en familj som tycker om att vara tillsammans och underhålla vänner i alla åldrar. Det är bra för en familjesammanträde eftersom den har många öppna utrymmen för att samlas inom och utomhus och massor av bekväma sängar. Stora privata båthus (byggd 2003) och festdocka perfekt för bad, fiske eller till och med stjärnblick. Trevlig plan manicured trädgård med djungel gym och rep swing för barn, perfekt för fotboll i trädgården.

Båthuset har en båtlåda tillgänglig plus en jet ski-slip. Verandan är täckt och har en vidsträckt utsikt över gården och sjön. Det är väl skyddat även under regnigt väder och är i själva verket mycket bekvämt att sitta och titta på en storm som blåser förbi. Vattnet är åtta meter djupt vid bryggan med en gradvis sluttning till stranden vilket gör det perfekt för bad.

Det finns ett stort bekvämt rum för att samlas runt spisen under kallare månader, och ett separat rum för att staplas upp och titta på TV eller filmer. Det finns också ett bottenvåning lekrum / våningssäng för barnen med en separat TV. Detta överflöd av bostadsområden gör detta till en bekväm vistelse oavsett din avkopplingsstil.

Lake Guntersville är världsberömd för sitt basfiske. Vi har dragit 5 pund bas precis utanför bryggan. Honungskaka är cirka åtta mil väster om staden Guntersville och 20 minuter från Huntsville stadsgränser. En offentlig båtlansering är bekvämt
ligger en mil från huset.

Last minute fishing trip

Last minute vacation chose to do a fishing trip on lake guntersville weather was great House was very accommodating Little big for two people sleeps 11 owner was very accommodating use of boathouse was very nice for our boat everything is new in the boathouse one of the boat lifts was not finished yet but still new and very nice other boat lift already had a boat on it garage doors have not been fully operational yet because of being new but did work manually quiet neighborhood besides the dog next door barking All in all very nice quiet weekend on the water and broken egg is a very good place to go to breakfast while you're on the water at City harbor they're bloody Marys are great

Walked in and decided not to stay

Bottom line: if you want to spend your days on the lake fishing and boating with a place to sleep, this may work. I had family coming in for Thanksgiving and after walking inside, my wife and I immediately found another place to stay. Basically I paid for two rentals during a 4 day weekend. The pictures don't show the exact state/condition of the property. There is a twin bed in what looks like used to be a porch, and another twin in the living room. The bunk room downstairs is not nice. The other bedrooms are just okay. The one bathroom I looked in had a tiny short shower head and toilet paper in the toilet. The kitchen looks and feels old, and the circuit breaker box is exposed in the wall. Overall, I was very disappointed in the condition of the property. I'm not trying to sound entitled either, I spent plenty of time living in tents in the military, but I didn't want to stay here for a holiday with my family and have them feel like we weren't trying to pamper them.

Great Area And View is Amazingly by!

House is easy to find. The View and the Area is great. Will Have plenty if Wildlife to see in the yard. Beds are comfortable. The yard is nice and open for kids to play. Dock is very nice and great for fishing or just sitting and relaxing. The house is older. 1 bathroom is off the kitchen Shower is Small! The other Bathroom is down the hall the Shower head does have where you can use as a sprayer. But if you use it as a Shower it is for Short people or kids. The Washer works great. The dryer is in the garage. Dishwasher works. Some of the lights will flicker when turning them on mainly the light by the door. There is no light about the sink. It is wired for one but no light. The House is functional and given some updates would be amazing. The Bunk is down stairs and musky but the dehumidifier works great. Kids didn’t want to sleep down there but loved the couches. Wi-Fi worked great as well. Would possibly stay again if some updates were done. Manager was great to work with and would rent from him again.

Downstairs room is actually a basement with crawlspace exposed behind nailed up sheets. We did not allow our children to sleep there. Boat dock made nice place to swim/fish

Perfect family retreat

Loved this property! It was suitable for lots of people and the basement was great for the pre-teen and teens due to the great noise canceling benefits. The water view is absolutely beautiful and you can swim right off the dock. Would certainly love to stay again!

Guntersville Lake house

Large house, lots of room. Nice covered porch with ceiling fan that looked at the lake. Dock was in good shape and allowed for much fishing and fun. Owner responded to all communication. Thank you!

A lot of space. This has a camp feel to the property. Like a boys scout sleepover. Not too shiny so don’t worry about messing anything up. My kids caught their first fish here so the price was priceless to see that. God bless y’all.

Fishing trip

Older house with some questionable wiring and inadequate outside lightning. Driveway is tricky to back a boat in and definitely not enough room for 4 bass boats! It would be fine for a small group.

Fisherman group paradise

Very large although a bit dated needing up grades but perfect for 7 guys w 3 boats. Very large indoors and very comfortable beds. Nice extra fridge in garage was very handy

Great old house

Fun place to stay- The porch (with dartboard) seems nice but it was too cold out to use it. We found plenty of room for our family (although keeping the downstairs bedroom warm was a challenge). We had fun in the kitchen and the great rooms, and trying to guess what part of the the house was built when. The lake views are beautiful, and the neighborhood is nice for walking, with good hiking nearby. All in all, we had a good time!

Great family fishing trip

We were so happy with our rental. The owner responed quickly for the reservation. The house was perfect for us. Great boat house and dock. My husband caught a 6 plus pound bass and a 30 pound catfish! We have been to lake Guntersville 2 times before and the fishing was best this time. We can't wait to come back. We would definitely rent this property again. It was so quiet and the way the yard is you feel like you are the only house around. The home is older but very comfortable. I cooked all of our meals. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfortable. We had a wonderful family vacation.

Me and my children and grandchildren stayed a week. We absolutely loved it plenty of space . Loved sitting on back porch watching sunrise. Kids loved the lake . Probably best vacation we have had since my children have been grown . We usually go to beach but tried something new and we are so glad we did. Thank you for sharing your home with us ❤️

Honeycomb Retreat

No complaints regarding the house. It is old but very unique. Furniture is dated and a bit used. It accommodated all 11 of us just fine with plenty of space. The only disappointing factor was you couldn't really use the boat in the channel for tube pulling, etc. because of all the growth in the water and it being a channel. Couldn't swim off the dock, water was overgrown with vegetation. The fishing was good off the dock however. There is the cutest light tan squirrel (we called him Honey) that frequents the area which was fun to watch and hummingbirds frequented the porch quite often. Very enjoyable stay.
