The Story Behind the River House
Rob and Mike originally purchased the River House as a peaceful getaway â drawn to the beauty of the Withlacoochee River, the surrounding forest, and the nearby Rails to Trails bike path. At first, they visited just once a month, but it didnât take long to fall in love with the area and everything it had to offer.
A few years later, they began searching for a permanent home nearby that could support their growing love of animals. They found the perfect spot: a 60-acre ranch in Sumter County, not far from the River House. Today, at Lucky U Ranch they raise goats, horses, chickens, donkeys, and cattle â living their dream on their own slice of heaven.
Although theyâve settled into ranch life, Rob and Mike couldnât bear to part with the River House completely. Instead, they chose to share it with others by offering it as a vacation rental â so travelers can experience the same peace, beauty, and adventure that first drew them in.
