Church Des Artistes Semester reträtt

Kompositör och konstnärspar har repurposed en romansk kyrkeshall från 1800-talet i deras studior, 5 sovrum, stort kök kök med 8 brännare spis, 5 badrum en kullerstensgård med utomhus grill och fontän. Fantastiskt för släktträffar, sammankomster av vänner eller till och med små workshops. Vårt stora bekväma kök är idealiskt för vänner / familj som gillar att laga mat tillsammans med massor av diskutrymme, 2 separata handfat och en 8-brännare gasspis och ugn. Underhållning i "The Great Hall" inkluderar ett Steinway Grand Piano och ett gårdsbord med plats för 18 samt soffor för att sitta framför elden på gasen Jotul spis.

Att strömma filmer på dina enheter är en bris med vår uber hög hastighets wifi-anslutning som är bra i hela fastigheten.

Vi kan till och med ordna en kock i världsklass som lagar en speciell måltid. Gångavstånd till affärer, restauranger, gallerier, småbåtshamnar och museer och en bra startpad för resor till närliggande städer, vandringar till vattenfall, berg, utsikt över Hudson River etc.

Lovely stay

Beautiful, unique stay! Julie was really kind walking us through the ins and outs of the property during check-in. So much care and attention put into every room. And the book collection is amazing.

We managed to pick a weekend with solid rain, so we were mostly stuck inside with two small children. They enjoyed the basket of instruments and areas to explore, and the five-year old wants to return. Be aware that this is not suitable for people with limited mobility. I am impressed by the cleanliness of this large place, plus the interesting art work.

Inviting beautiful place filled with art, flowers and amazing claw foot tubs. Julie and Peter were extremely kind and accommodating hosts. Highly recommend this property which is also a lovely short walk to shops and restaurants and the waterfront.

A Unique Experience

It's quaint and beautiful, with lots of space. Cooking in that kitchen is a real treat. The courtyard is like an oasis. Not having a bathroom on the second floor is an inconvenience but would not dissuade me from returning.

A great stay

An elegant place with a dream courtyard. All the bedrooms were awesome. The great room was a gathering spot, every night. This converted church is a relaxing and luxurious pleasure.

Beautiful

We were so happy to have been able to stay in this beautiful home. The feeling was as if we were in Europe . Julie and Peter were available and helpful. We would come back . Loved it !!

Dream weekend

Peter and Julie are wonderful hosts. They gave us a tour and made us feel like home. The space is even better than the pictures show. Charming and beautiful in a cozy part of town. We will come back for sure!

A beautiful and magical place!

I loved Church des Artistes since the first moment. It is a magical place with wonderful hosts. I spent an amazing weekend, eating really good food, and I hope I'll be able to go back in the future!

Church Des Artistes is absolutely lovely.

I went with a group of women for a weekend away of cooking, talking, sleeping, and enjoying the charming town of Kingston. Church Des Artistes was beyond anything I could have imagined in a home away from home for the weekend. The beds and couches were sink-in comfy and the kitchen was incredible - with darling plates and serving platters, and a huge cast iron stove, and the best morning sunshine to accompany a cup of tea on the farm kitchen table. The living room space is breathtaking. Every nook of this home if inspiring. Thank you to kind, open, and thoughtful owners Peter and Julie - we'll be back soon!!

Coming from the East Village we were immediately drawn to The Rondout neighborhood of Kingston for its beauty, proximity to the river (just down the hill) and mix of unique architecture and neighborhoods. The church property was built in 1800's and the glorious high ceilings and solid construction was a dream come true for an artist and composer. We raised 2 children here all the while hosting Peter's ensemble "The Repeatos" for marathon recording and performing stints. After the children left the roost and the Repeatos have spread to the four corners it was an easy transition to "Church Des Artistes" , a unique retreat for friends and family. We can comfortably sleep 12 guests with our 5 bedrooms . Great Hall has 2 comfortable twin daybeds and a "Dutch twin sleeping cupboard"

Our large country style kitchen is perfectly suited for gatherings of families and friends sitting around the farm table or preparing great feasts . With our wonderful 8 burner stove, and modern 4 burner convection oven 2 separate sinks and lots of counter space multiple chefs can work at the same time. We have 4 claw foot tubs, 3 showers and a tub with jacuzzi jets and fabulously strong water pressure for really enjoyable showers. Our gigabyte speed WiFi 6 internet connection covers the entire property for super reliable video conferencing and streaming movies from the wide screen projector.
