Welcome to the Red Star Lodge near Helen, Georgia, a friends and family retreat!

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our spacious mountain home, Red Star Lodge, is your home away from home. Red Star Lodge is only 15 minutes from Helen and 90 minutes from Atlanta, secluded but close to everything.

Enjoy the hustle and bustle of town, or visit the many wineries in the area. Relax with friends and family in a mountain retreat that is modern but rustic, spacious but cozy. The cook's kitchen seats 10 for those nights you want to stay in and the firepit area features a large gas grill. The house sleeps up to 10.

The two master suites have ensuite bathrooms. The loft master suite has a queen bed, an LCD TV, a private balcony, a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The main floor master features a king bed and wall mounted LCD TV with a full bath and laundry room. The lower level bedroom has two full beds and the living area features a queen sleeper sofa. A full bath services the lower level. All bathrooms have upgraded amenities provided.

The two great rooms on both floors feature floor to ceiling gas log fireplaces and LCD TVs. The lower level great room has a kitchenette with bar seating and a dining table. The game room features arcade and tabletop games, with PacMan, ping pong, air hockey and more. Enjoy the 6 person hot tub and watch the deer gather on the lawn below. At the end of the day relax in the rocking chairs on the upper deck while twilight sets on Mount Yonah. Two gas fireplaces are available starting October15th through the end of March. Please note that the 4th bedroom is a super comfortable sofa bed in the downstairs living room. (Owner tested and approved! - no bars.) Make memories for years to come.

Close to town while enjoying the outdoors in comfort.

Home was perfect distance to Helen but yet a little secluded and woodsier than staying in town. House was large and plenty of room for a large group. We were there on a scout trip with 7 teens and 2 adults, and everyone enjoyed their time there equally. There were quiet spaces for the adults while the teens had plenty to occupy their time. Kitchen is well stocked and plenty of seating for your group. Beds were comfortable and the hot tub was hot. Overall, an amazing trip making memories that will last a lifetime.

Beautiful, thoughtfully equipped cabin

The Red Star Lodge was the perfect location for a weekend with friends. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook a big breakfast, the hot tub and rocking chairs on the deck made for a perfect hang out/relaxation zone, and all the bedrooms were extremely comfortable spaces to recharge. Christie made sure we had everything we needed and gave some wonderful local recommendations for us to make the most of our trip. My only regret was that we couldn't stay for longer! Thank you for everything.

Beautiful cabin and location

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very spacious and had the most amazing deck views! Owners were very responsive to any questions we had. It's also a great location, close to Helen and other great activities. I would definitely book again in the future!

Adventure into the Mountain

What a marvelous experience my family of seven had at the Red Star Lodge. We took a week off to celebrate my daughter's 16th bday and spent it at this beautiful spacious house. Waking up looking at Yonah Mountain every day was a gift! I took many pictures of the stars at night. It was as if the sky was reflecting back at us with its energy. An experience one can have while at the mountains. We loved roasting marshmallows and drinking hot cocoa. What a treat! The house was perfectly located near many places that we visited (Duke's Creek Falls, Anna Ruby Falls, consolidated gold mine and Smithgall Woods state park) Helen is a very cute town to walk around. The house had everything we needed to cook, sleep, exercise (the hill). It was awesome. My kids loved the play area downstairs. And most of all, Christie was kind to allow me to bring my brother's dog with us as well. Christie's and Donald's house is a wonderful place to go and spend time taking in the beauty the mountains have to offer.

Great Stay!

Red Star Lodge was absolutely amazing! Check in was easy, cabin was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. We loved being here for the holidays and will definitely return. Minutes away from Helen. The communication with the owner was always easy with an immediate response.

Wonderful an nice cabin,very quite an secluded

This was a nice place to stay had something for everyone. The teenagers loved this house had games,game room ,hot tub,an bonefire. The kitchen was nice an clean plenty room feed everyone . Tje little ones loved it the decks are closed in an they coluld ride on there cars without getting out . The beds where nice an soft plenty covers an pillows to go around. We loved it an will be coiming back soon.

Beautiful mountain home brimming with amenities!

The seven people in our family (three in their 70s, two in their 40s, one teen and one almost teen) had a wonderful stay at Red Star Lodge over Thanksgiving week. The home has beautiful views, ample space, plentiful and comfortable seating, and many amenities including two gas fireplaces, hot tub on the lower level porch, fire pit right off the back porch, plenty of rocking chairs on the upper level porch with beautiful views, ping pong, air hockey and shuffle board tables, an arcade game and board games. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the house had plenty of comfy throw blankets to keep cozy during cold weather. There were many things to do in the area, such as visit Alpine Helen, local wineries. coffee shops, hike, horseback ride and the Georgia Mountain coaster. The host offered great recommendations and was very responsive to communication. We would all be happy to stay at this property again!

Really Fun Time at the Red Star

Beautiful and very nicely appointed home. All the conveniences that you would need and a great game room downstairs. It was very relaxing and the neighborhood is nice. So close to Helen and the scenic parkway. Downtown Clarkesville is also a beautiful litttle town square with tons of modern amenities surrounding. Great stay and definitely fun for all!

Beautiful and spacious

Perfect family getaway

The cabin was beautiful, spacious, and stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The location was ideal for visiting some wineries, checking out downtown Helen, and taking a hike. When we wanted to stay in, we had a blast in the game room. Christie was so kind and helpful. Overall we had a perfect vacation at this cabin and I highly recommend the stay.

We took a girls trip to Helen for Octoberfest. We had a wonderful weekend! It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle when we were ready to be back at the quite quaintness of our home for the weekend. We would highly recommend to friends and families of all ages!

A 5-star Sanctuary

We loved everything about this property. It has all the bells & whistles. It’s spacious, peaceful and serene, and at the same time fun for kids (and all ages). It’s very well-kept. It’s in a nice, wooded neighborhood with wildlife, yet it’s a short drive to shops, restaurants, and Helen. I highly recommend!

Feels like home

The location is perfect! It is out of the hustle and bustle of Helen but a short 15 min drive and you are in the heart of Helen. The house is spacious with so many home touches, I felt like I was staying in my own house. I love the fact that they keep the salt & Pepper and seasonings from previous guests for everyone to use (it's the little things lol). My teens loved the game room & the adults as well. The fire pit with the chairs and Tiki torches was a huge hit in the evenings. We all sat around the fire taking and connecting. The owner was wonderful and very communicative. The decks with rocking chairs was my favorite for morning coffee and late night wine. Very relaxing place! Sorry our Dog slobbered on the couch. Love that it is pet friendly though.

Long Weekend Getaway

Very nice and clean. Had everything we needed. Our group included my son and his wife, the three children ages 7,9 & 12. and me, Grandpa. We were gone most of the time but when we were at the cabin the games and the hot tub kept everyone pretty busy. We had a great time.

Fantastic house and stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Red Star Lodge! I want to start with saying how wonderful Christie was with her quick and detailed replies and recommendations to all of my questions pre-trip. She made it such a pleasant experience that I felt she was a friend by the end of all our exchanges! Though I booked this outside of my travel credentials, and did not mention this to Christie, I am a travel agent, I work with travel suppliers all day long, and I wish that the customer service from all of them was half as good as what she provided me. The house is exactly as shown in the photos. It is SO well stocked with everything we could possibly have needed. I brought so many items that typically are needed when renting a house or condo, but I could have left all of it at home. House was very clean, upper deck is amazing. Beds were extremely comfortable. We all slept so well (this group typically does NOT say that!). The game room is wonderful. We fully utilized the PacMan/Galaga arcade game, sand shuffleboard, air hockey, ping pong, and chess board. We brought several games with us, but there are many boardgames provided. Nice beach towels provided right by the lower balcony slider door to the hot tub. We visited Yonah Mountain VIneyards which was a pleasant 15ish min drive from the house. Gorgeous winery! I had mentioned we wanted to visit a winery or two and she sent me several recommendations with descriptions of each. We are already talking about returning!

Welcoming and perfect!

Chrisite's cabin was over the top! One of the best we've stayed in by far. As soon as you step in you feel welcomed. Little details throughout the house and have to mention the solar lights around the fire pit area, so inviting. The girls loved having their own area to sing, dance, and have movie night without having to hushed when they were up late giggling. They had a ball. The cabin is well equipped. The surrounding area is quiet, a great place to relax. Just minutes from Helen and Clarksville. Christie was very reaponsive with communication. We're already planning our next trip back.

Beautiful Home!

This is my first time ever using Vrbo, and Christie was incredibly nice and helpful in making sure I felt comfortable. The cabin was absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views of the tree lines. It’s incredibly peaceful when you sit on any of the decks and just take a moment to appreciate the view. The cabin has a Keurig, and I forgot my K-cups! Fortunately, we had brought coffee, but there were 2 pods hanging out that I could use which I thought was a really nice touch. No one had any complaints about the sleeping arrangements, and I can say that the bed I slept in was quite nice. We had a party of 8. The furniture was comfortable, and the whole place itself was just welcoming. There was provided shampoo and conditioner which was appreciated as well. There were also plenty of towels for the hot tub which became a focal point of hanging around and chatting around it. The fire pit was also fantastic! We only used it the last night of our stay and I’d wished we’d have used it a bit earlier. There’s just something about sitting around a fire with friends that’s nice. We went tubing down the river in Helen and had a blast. The local scene is full of restaurants and bars with a lot of people just walking around. Overall, I would say this is a fantastic option to get away a bit and relax. Thank you Christie for being awesome!

Best vaycay ever!

This cabin was amazing! the property owners were above and beyond accommodating and friendly! We will never forget the memories we made! House was very clean, the most amazing sheets I have ever slept on! The game room was a huge hit with the kids and adults, and the hot tub was a perfect ending to everyday! Last but not least, cant beat coffee on the balcony in the rocking chairs in the mornings! I would book again and again!!

Wonderful Cabin!

We throughly enjoyed our stay and the view of Yonah Mountain. Location is conveniently close to many trails and water fall hikes. Also found a few new favorite Vineyards in the area that were a short drive and Helen a few miles away. The kitchen is spacious and was well appointed with everything you would need to cook family meals. The new owners have made some fantastic upgrades to the property, and made it feel very welcoming with provided bathroom amenities and blankets to cuddle with on chilly nights. The downstairs game area is the perfect space to spread out on those rainy days with ping pong, sand table shuffleboard, arcade games, board games and puzzles. The owner was quick to respond to a minor fireplace issue and was immediately resolved the same day. Our family slept well during our entire trip and were thrilled to find such a fantastic property that was also pet friendly!! Definitely on our list as a new favorite cabin to visit in the North Georgia area.

Family stay near Helen, GA

Our family loved everything about this home. It feels like you are staying at your sister’s only she’s gone shopping. The owners thoughtfully had a Christmas tree and other holiday decor out for our week after Christmas stay. It is beautifully decorated. Starter staples were provided. The space is open and functional too. View is pretty in the winter. Gorgeous December sunsets. Two stone gas fireplaces! Game room with complete kitchen downstairs, same floor as hot tub. Bedroom with 2 full beds. Game room couch is sleeper sofa. Top bedroom is a loft. Middle floor bedroom is a king. Full bathroom on every floor. I really love this house. Close to Helen, less than hour to 2 different state parks. Plenty of hiking opportunities. The driveway is steep. We had no issues with it but we had no snow nor ice. The roads were in good condition and we can no problems in our minivan. We did see deer. This home is just as listed, well cared for with many extra touches. The owners definitely went above & beyond for us to enjoy our week together.

Don and I are South Floridians who love the mountains of Georgia which will someday be our permanent home. We have hosted our guest cottage in Florida - 280 square feet - and it was such a great experience! Now we have our 3500 square foot mountain cabin that came with a wonderful 10 year 5 star VRBO rating. We are carrying the torch forward from the gracious previous owners. I am a frequent business traveler and have stayed in many short term rentals over the years. It has made me appreciate what a well stocked home provides in terms of comfort and convenience while on vacation or business. We have made sure that you have everything you need - and more than you expect -to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The cabin is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood ten minutes from Helen and 20 minutes from Clarkesville. There are paved roads all the way in and you do not need a 4 wheel drive. We are surrounded by woods but have a beautiful lawn in the front where you will see the occasional deer, bunnies and birds. Wildlife abounds in the mountains. In the winter there is a great view of Yonah Mountain. It is a very family friendly house, secluded yet convenient.

We looked at many properties before we purchased Red Star Lodge. We fell in love with the large rooms and layout, the spacious dining area and the open floor plan on all levels compared to other properties that had small rooms and challenging access.
