Elk River Cabin är en äkta timmerstuga som ursprungligen byggdes på 1800-talet i Marion, NC. Det demonterades, med alla stockar numrerade och ombyggdes på sin nuvarande plats.
Det har renoverats för att behålla sin tidlösa och rustika charm. De många specialfunktioner inkluderar kvist exteriör & interiör räcke, ek lövplastgolv på huvudnivå, full mursten spis i vardagsrummet och helrenoverade bad.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin itself, but I want to be honest about the communication experience with the host. The host was quite firm and inflexible regarding check-in and check-out times, which we understand are often set policies. However, the tone in the messages felt somewhat abrupt and lacked warmth, which made the process more stressful than necessary—especially since we were traveling with a baby and hoping for a little flexibility.There was also confusion about the payment status. The host repeatedly mentioned that payment had not been received, even though we had already paid through VRBO. I had to contact VRBO myself to confirm the payment and clarify the situation. This created some unnecessary tension right before our arrival.Overall, the cabin met our needs, but clearer and more considerate communication from the host would have made the stay more comfortable.

Perfect secluded Cabin steps away from Banner Elk Village

The host accommodated me last minute and was very helpful getting the house ready and allowing us an early check in. The cabin is cute and has EVERYTHING you need, including a sauna which was a bonus.

Incredible views

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay. The views from the hot tub/deck, the all winter porch, the living room, and pretty much any room on the Mountain View side of the home had spectacular views. I think the pictures do not display justice as to how beautiful the views are. The steps are curved and steep, some of the ceilings are Low or angled but we really enjoyed the home. Just a heads up there are no curtains or blinds in the master, privacy is not an issue but the sun does come right in.

Great mountain retreat

We really enjoyed the property. Cozy, quiet, and beautiful. Plenty of space for everyone and we loved all the hang out areas. my only recommendation would be some window coverings in the Master Suite so the early morning sun doesn't wake you.

Good location but be aware of the construction

This cabin is in a convenient location, and has decent amenities. If your time there includes any weekdays through this summer, you need to be aware there are two houses under construction -- one is right outside the front door, the other is in the adjacent lot. Around 7am on our first morning there, we were awakened to the sounds of construction that were so close, I thought someone had come inside the house-- it was very alarming. It was the opposite of the quiet, peaceful getaway we were hoping for. Had we known about the construction, we would have stayed somewhere else since this was our anniversary and our first time away from our young child. Other than that, it has a nice view. The hot water heater doesn't hold enough water to fill the tub. Compared to other cabins we have stayed in around the area, the nicest part was being a very short drive to dinner in Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.

Elk River Cabin 4th of July

We loved the Elk River Cabin, it was so well equipped, clean, full of character in a beautiful setting. This cabin would be challenging for someone who has difficulty with stairs. We would definitely rent it again.
