Portage Lake Getaway på Calm Bay

Vi köpte detta hem våren 2013. Det är stort men bekvämt och ligger på en vacker fastighet med utsikt över Portage Lake. Detta 3 200 kvadratmeter stora ranchhem har fyra sovrum, fyra badrum och två stora vardagsrum. Den kan bekvämt rymma två familjer med barn, tre eller fyra par eller fem singlar privat. För underhållning har hemmet ett pusselbord, massor av spel, böcker och DVD, ett biljardbord, ett ping pongbord, ett shuffleboard-bord, en storbilds-TV med Apple TV och WiFi.

Portage Lake är en all-sportsjö som är ansluten till Lake Michigan via en kanal. Portagesjön är perfekt för segling, fiske, motoriserad och icke-motoriserad båtliv, simning och titt på solnedgången. Vi har en 5-personpaddling, en två-person kajak och 3 singel kajaker som hyresgäster är välkomna att använda.

Home ligger 5 mil norr om Little River Casino. På vintern är det cirka 45 minuter från Caberfae Peaks och 30 minuter från Crystal Mountain för skidåkning, nära snöskoter & längdskidspår, på en fantastisk sjö för isfiske och nära till många charmiga städer fyllda med underbara restauranger och butiker. På sommaren är det nära till många fantastiska Lake Michigan-stränder och inom 30 minuter från många pittoreska städer och byar vid vattnet, vingårdar, antikaffärer, konstgallerier, vandringsleder och museer. Mindre än 30 minuter från fantastiska golfbanor, inklusive Arcadia Bluffs (9 miles away), Manistee National (15 miles) och Heathlands (mindre än 1/2 mil). Cirka en timmes bilresa till Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore eller Traverse City. Det finns så mycket att göra i det här området!

Handdukar, sängkläder och pappersprodukter tillhandahålls. Alla badrum har enkla toalettartiklar för din bekvämlighet. På grund av det gamla septiksystemet måste gästen använda toalettpapper, tvättmedel och tvättmedel. Gästerna är välkomna att använda kryddor och smaktillsatser, men byt ut allt du använder. Alla madrasser och kuddar är nya (2014) och inneslutna i ett allergivänligt skydd.

Great family rental

We had a great vacation at this rental on Portage lake. The location was on a beautiful cove and channel. We had paddle boards and kayaks to use to explore the lake. We could not really swim from the shore, but we rented a boat for the day and swam off the boat. The cottage was very large and spread out which was great for our family. Everything we could need or want was available for making meals and staying entertained. The game room was wonderful on a rainy day! The only drawback for us was the lack of air conditioning which made sleeping difficult on hot nights. However, every room had ceiling fans and a few additional fans were provided.

Great Vaca

Beautiful house with everything you could possibly need. We had a lot of fun playing games, pool and paddle boarding/kayaking on a lake. Plenty of room for multiple families.

A little piece of heaven

The home is so beautifully decorated and homeowners are absolutely wonderful to work with. Our family has stayed here several times over the past years and are absolutely IN LOVE with the property. There is so much room to sprall out and not be under each others feet... (which is wonderful when you have multiple teenagers in your group!) Game tables, games, puzzles, outdoor games and a fun filled stocked bookcase of movies are perfect for down time. Home is situated on a peaceful outlet of Portage Lake. It truly is majestic and relaxing. I cannot put into words how wonderful this home is... Our family calls this our "Favorite home away from home"...

PERFECT for a family getaway!

Thank you Angela & David for sharing your outstanding home! The house was very clean and well maintained. The amount of space for our blended family of 7 was ideal. The beautiful yard with tons of room also allowed for us to entertain family that we were visiting in the area. During "down time" when we were not on the water, there were plenty of places to retreat & relax, play games (pool & ping pong included), watch a movie or even taken an undisturbed nap. Location is perfect. Jump in the boat or vehicle and we were right into town. Owners have thought of every detail in making your stay comfortable and memorable. Hope to come back again with our family next year!

Perfect house!

Angela and Dave-thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful home. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed the rec room and your amazing yard. It was such a great vacation. Something for Everyone!

Very nice place with a great deal of space / ammenities. Water access on an in-land lake with direct connection to Lake Michigan is a huge plus. Pool table, ping pong and a spacious floor plan enabled everyone to relax, play games, read, etc. Close proximity to Arcadia Bluffs and other top-notch golf facilities as well as several towns for dining, shopping, groceries, etc. was very convenient. Big yard allowed the kids to play many games right outside the house which was very convenient as well.

Very Spacious! Conveniently located!!

This house has so much room! We had 3 families that comprised of 5 adults, three teenagers and 3 little kids. The kitchen is fully equipt so making meals was a breeze when we didn't want to go out. The bedrooms are spaced throughout the home which made it nice for sleeping (didn't have to hear snoring from another room, etc). What I loved the best is that in the living room off the kitchen area was a lovely quiet spot to do jigsaw puzzles, the kitchen and dining area were great gathering spots for playing cards or general socializing and the big rec room was attractive to the kids and was far enough away from the previously mentioned other two areas to allow the kids to play ping pong, board games, laser tag and such without the adults having to hear the ruckus! The channel right out of the back door was great for watching birds and swans as well as docking the jet skiis that were launched at a nearby public launch. The dunes and beaches were beautiful and fun and the restaurants were tasty and close! The owners were very helpful in guiding us where to go for dinners and fun. It was a fabulous vacation and we will surely stay again!!

My husband and I live in the Grand Rapids when we are not at our favorite place. We are both Michigan natives and love the state we live in!

Varför värden valde detta boende

When we were younger and newly married we rented a little tiny cabin located next the boat launch and park in town. We fell in love with the lake and the area and vowed that one day we would have a place of our own. In May of 2013 that dream came true and we purchased a home on the lake.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The home is situated on the end of a peninsula of land the large lawn has almost 300 feet of lake and channel frontage. The channel and lake are usually calm and ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and bird watching. The back yard is protected from the wind coming off Lake Michigan and it feels so much warmer on cool days. The sea wall has several cleats and bumper strips for your boat and/or jet skis. In the spring the bass spawn around the sea wall and it is fun to catch and release a “whopper”.
