Hello my name is Steve!
I am the owner, host, and neighbor of The Dove. This newly renovated property is my pride and joy. When you arrive, I will greet you at the front door, and show you my super chic little jewel! Close to everything sun, sand, fun, and food!
Let's talk Florida fun! As a 4th generation Floridian, I surf, mountain bike, free dive, and paddle board. I'm your outdoor guide. Looking for great food, drinks or anything else? I'm your source and guide for all things local!
The space
The Dove is a beautiful, classic Florida cottage, located in the charming "So-So" neighborhood of West Palm Beach, just South of the Southern Bridge.
The dining table sits five easily. It is adjacent to the sun room where the seating and small table is close enough to the dining table, as to still be part of the conversation.
Large sliding glass doors, at the end of the living room, open onto the deck, and a spacious outdoor lounge area, and large grass yard for kids to play.
The living room features a 75" television visible from there, the kitchen, and the outdoor lounge. It's intimate, yet big enough to enjoy the best of Florida living!
The master bedroom is beautifully decorated, with a chic art vibe. The guest bedroom is kitschy cozy cool.
Guest access
Parking is directly in front of the house and entrance to the home. This is a single family home. Guests have full access to all areas including the back yard and garden. A very high quality Ping Pong table, under the over hang adjacent to the lounge area and loggia, is fun for the whole family, or group.
Other things to note
COMMUNICATION
requires all communications between hosts and guests to be via their direct messaging system. We cannot text you. Please feel free to ask us for anything, but we will ask you to also put all requests into system as well. It’s part of enhanced safety protocols, to protect all members of their platform.
NOISE and PARTIES
We are located in a quiet, tranquil, residential neighborhood. We respect our neighbors. We ask that you do, too. Along with , we prohibit parties, or gatherings, of any kind.
We employ MINUT noise monitoring devices, on property. They do not listen to conversations. They monitor, and log, ambient noise levels. If the noise exceed settings that may disturb the neighbors, we will be notified. We will notify you to bring it back down. Failure to do so, respond, or repeated issues with noise, or added people on property, and we may, at our discretion, terminate your stay. By booking you agree to vacate, and forfeit and remaining money(ies) from your reservation.
We also ask, if you enter or exit the property after 10 pm, to please be mindful of noise, while coming, or going.
SMOKING/VAPING POLICY
There is absolutely NO SMOKING OR VAPING of any substances allowed in the indoor spaces, on our patio/lounge area.
Outdoors Smoking/Vaping is allowed in the designated area only.
PET POLICY
We accept service dogs. Dogs may be allowed if you fill out our pet form, and pay a small fee, found on the form. ESA animals, unless certified as a trained working service animal, are considered pets, and must pay the fee.
Apologies, but no cats due to allergies of the owners, and staff, birds or reptiles, or exotics, due to our insurance, please.
All pets will need current vaccinations. Please provide proof at the time of booking.
PESTS POLICY
We are located in a tropical location. Bugs, rodents, iguanas, snakes and other animals are part of our environment.
We hire services to provide pest, and animal control.
If you should encounter a pest problem, contact us immediately via Direct Messaging to report the issue. Contacting us, by other means IS NOT notification.
We will address any issue promptly. You agree to allow us sufficient time to remediate the problem.
If either party decides to terminate the stay, you agree, by booking, to a pro-rata refund for the unused days only.
HURRICANE/SEVERE WEATHER POLICY
Florida is subject to hurricanes, tornadoes, tropical storms, water spouts, and other high-wind events. Hurricane season in Florida runs from June to November, with the peak months being August/September.
BOOKINGS IN HURRICANE SEASON (June-November):
They are RARE, but, if, at any time, The Dove is under a tropical storm/hurricane watch where the “incidence cone” is expected to remain focused on our geographic region, with projections of a category strength of one (1), or more:
• You have the option of cancelling the remainder of your stay, at no penalty to you, if we are within the published incidence cone, at seventy-two (72) hours prior to landfall;
• At forty-eight (48) hours prior to your arrival, if we remain in the incidence cone, we will, regretfully, have to cancel your booking. No A/C, power, or water, for days, is not a vacation.
Weather-related communications outages may impact our ability to contact you, but we will make every effort.
Your charges for your stay will be refunded, if already collected, by .
We will provide you with a voucher to book the same amount of time, at a future date, at that booking rate, that is valid if The Dove is operational.
ACTIVE STAYS WHEN A HURRICANE IS APPROACHING:
If you are staying at The Dove when it falls under Tropical Storm/Hurricane Watch, with our property within the published “incidence cone” within forty-eight (48) hours, while you are staying with us, if the storm has the potential to reach a Category 1 level or greater, we will advise you to curtail your stay, and make arrangements to leave the area.
While we have hurricane windows and doors, our proximity to the intercoastal waterway puts us in an evacuation zone. You agree to depart the premises when requested to do so by The Dove staff, or the local authorities.
You will be advised of any changes in your entrance, or exit, if management deems that your safety is at-risk.
If we are forced to close, the remaining balance of your stay will be credited to you. If you booked through a service, see their policies for such a credit, if any. If you booked directly with us, you will receive a voucher for a future stay, at the rate that you booked, for the same, or shorter, duration, that is valid if we are operational.
If we are notified by the news and/or National Weather Service that there will be a window where a hurricane, of any category strength, will pass through our area, we will close the house(s) down 48 hours prior, or as soon as is possible, and ask all guests to vacate.
We will provide you notice, in writing, by direct message. Your reservation in progress will be cancelled. You will be credited with your remaining stay. You are responsible for your own safety, and evacuation plans, in such a circumstance. Be aware of news on the hurricane’s path. Check on, and book the necessary flights, rail, or auto transportation to leave the hurricane’s projected pathway.
