WHERE YOU'LL STAY
ArtHouse Up is a 2BD, 1B upper duplex unit of Arthouseupdown aimed at up to 4 adults who want comfort and convenience, while enjoying an artistic and unique place to stay. If you have more than 4 people in your group, you might consider adding ArtHouse Down, to your reservations, as it will also accommodate 4 adults. There is a gate connecting the two backyards, and the space can be easily shared. Youâre sure to eat well with numerous Perry District restaurants close by, and all the essential kitchen equipment needed to cook in or BBQ on the deck and eat on the patio in the yard.
Thereâs a desk in each bedroom, and with high speed Comcast Internet (download speed-607 mbps), you'll be able to work and stream movies and shows on the smart TV. Then easily take advantage of all the fun things the Perry District and Spokane have to offer.
Beds are new, super comfy queens with USB ports in each room for easy charging of your devices. We have a washer/dryer in the unit along with some laundry products, iron, ironing board.
Guests love the BEAR CAVE! It's a super cozy hideout with big comfy pillows and throw, magical lighting, puzzles, coloring books and adorbs tea set. All you need for a relaxing, fun retreat. We've also made sure there are board games and books (all for adults) to help make your down time more enjoyable.
There is an electric fireplace for extra comfort in the cold season, or you can just turn the flames on for added ambiance. Separate heat thermostats for each bedroom, and main living area, thermostat on heater in bathroom, ceiling fans, and air conditioning help ensure your comfort.
Outside you'll find a small deck off the kitchen, with BBQ, cooler, and some seating. Down the stairs is a privately fenced back yard with table and chairs, and a snuggly bench for chatting or taking photos. Enjoy the yard art, and flowers and vines in the warm seasons, while you relax in your cozy green space.
If you are interested in staying longer than 28 days, please make a request and I will contact you.
Art House Up isn't just a place to stay, it's a unique lodging experience in the coolest neighborhood in Spokane!

ACCESS
Guests have full access to ArtHouse Up inside, except for our locked supply closet. There is a shared front yard and your own fenced back yard with privacy fencing.
The driveway to the east of the building, the yellow storage building in back, and the back lot are private property and not for guest access. There are signs on the gates for clarity.
There are outside garbage and recycling cans in the driveway on the east side of the building. I will put them out for collection on Tuesday mornings.
YOUR HOSTS
Hello! We are Lesa Delisi, a recently retired speech teacher for the Spokane Public Schools and artist, and Dennis Thomas, a holistic veterinarian with an online practice, âHeart to Heart Holistic Healthcare for Petsâ. We live a block from the ART HOUSE, and have been in the Perry District for more than 20 years. We have five children and five grandchildren, scattered across WA and TX, and lots of pets! We generally like to have fun and enjoy living in the Pacific NW.
We are Mom & Pop hosts and strive to offer the personal touches that a corporate-owned place canât. We use the back lot (separate from the Art House yards) quite a bit for gardening and some small craft events in warm weather. Donât be surprised to see one of us working there, or raking leaves out front, etc. We are semi-retired and live just around the corner.
We know you value your privacy and will try to stay out of your hair but are available through the platform app, if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to flag us down if you see us. We know all the neighbors and are often out and about socializing with them, or walking our dogs, and we love a good chat!
Also, take advantage of the QR codes in the Guest book inside, or the online Guest book, for information about local attractions and many other needs you may have.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Perry District is commonly thought of as the "artistic and eclectic" neighborhood in Spokane. It is in an older part of town, and has all the charm and foibles you'd expect, including older, sometimes broken sidewalks, and a variety of architecture, artists, musicians, bakers, and craftspeople. It is close to Downtown and all the main areas of business, education, entertainment, and medicine. Sacred Heart and Deaconess hospitals are very close. Gonzaga, EWS & WSU Riverpoint campus, and Whitworth downtown campus are all within 3 miles. There are Spokane Transit Authority buses available within a block, the airport is ~8 miles away, and Amtrak station is ~2 miles away. You can book a massage, a yoga session, hair and manicure, or buy a new book, all within a block of the ART HOUSE. There are numerous restaurants, shops, pubs, houses of worship, parks and walking trails right in the Perry District.
The Perry District is a "walking" neighborhood, full of artists, musicians, and crafts people. The neighborhood has a nice mix of young singles, families, and older folks. We're also known as the area of Spokane with the most diversity.
GETTING AROUND
The Spokane Transit Authority bus system has stops a block and a half from the ART HOUSE. Spokane International Airport is 8.1 miles away, Amtrak station is 2.1 miles away. There are several taxi services in Spokane, and, of course, Uber. You can often find Lime scooters and bikes parked around the Perry District. Spokane is a bike-friendly city and there is a bike repair shop the next block over from the ART HOUSE.
WILDLIFE
Spokane, like many cities, has its share of urban wildlife. Donât be surprised if you see deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, hawks, and the occasional skunk in the neighborhood. We try to coexist with them and enjoy their presence when they appear. As with all wildlife, if you encounter them, âlook but donât touchâ.

We live a block from the ART HOUSE, and have been in the Perry District for more than 20 years. We have five children and five grandchildren, scattered across WA and TX, and lots of pets! The ART HOUSE
I have always dreamed of hosting a little âboutiqueâ establishment, meeting travelers, and providing a great lodging experience. The Art House is a "Mom and Pop" operation, and we strive to provide the personal touches a corporate-owned rental can't provide. I love building and decorating, and since retiring from the school district, I have returned to my former career as an artist. Being able to create an inviting space for visitors to stay, while in Spokane, has been a dream come true, as I could combine my love of art with my love of decorating and hosting.
I originally bought and rescued the duplex in 2013. It was quite a wreck. Itâs been completely remodeled, first for long-term leasing, and now for short-term rentals. It's always been my baby, but my husband helps out. The duplex was built in 1979 on a spare lot that was formerly the orchard and garden for the Weitensteiner family. âFather Joeâ Weitensteiner was born in the charming white house to the West of the duplex, and still lives there. Heâs a delightful fellow and youâll likely see him from time to time. Many of the other neighbors are singers, musicians, artists, cooks and gardeners.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
I originally moved to the Perry District to complete my Master's degree. I love the neighborhood and the eclectic vibe and decided to stay. It's close to downtown, but not too close. It has it's own character that includes great old architecture, many restaurants and shops, artists, musicians, festivals, multiple parks within walking distance, and music. Several of my neighbors were born in the Perry District, and have lived here their whole lives. It's a close-knit community.
Vad som gör detta boende unikt
The Art House was designed as an adult space with really unique decor, including beautiful art, antiques, and hand-built furniture. I wanted guests to have a great, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price. I've provided most of the amenities anyone could ask for to be able to "live" in the Art House for a while. You'll have a nice back yard to enjoy the outdoors or cook a meal on the BBQ. The Perry District is full of wonderful places to eat and great little shops, so you can stay and play without having to use your car, if you choose.
