Our family of six adults had a delightful stay at Soundview Beach House. The ocean view was expansive. We had the beach to ourselves. The owners provided kayaks with life vests. The house was very comfortable, and the air conditioning maintained a pleasant temperature even on two excessively hot days. The SmartTV provided a nice place for us to sit and enjoy some movies. The kitchen and eating area were nicely appointed. I kept up with family laundry using the washer/dryer next to the garage. We had ample parking for our three cars. There is a superb restaurant within a short walking distance of the house. Nearby lavender farm, wineries, pick-your-own berry farms, and Tanger outlets were all within a short drive. We stayed for two weeks and returned home well-rested and happy. The owners/managers were very responsive to our questions during our stay. We would definitely book another trip to Soundview!

WAS TOLD BEACH FIRES WERE OKAY BEFORE BOOKING BUT WAS TOLD THEY WERE NOT WHEN WE TRIED TO LIGHT ONE.

I am a frequent flyer for the myriad of vacation rentals and I've stayed in everything from mountain cabins to city condos to beach front homes (like this one), so I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. THE GOOD: This place is probably the nicest location I've ever stayed at. The entire premises was impeccably clean and kitchen was very well appointed. There were plenty of extra linens & towels, and the beds & furniture were very comfortable. THE BAD: Before I booked this place, I specifically asked if we could light a beach fire and was enticingly told "YES"! Being the winter in NY, a fireplace was a must, as was our being able to light a beach fire as the "grand finale" for my extended family's visit. My 85 yr old mom was with us and that was the one thing she kept talking about. How she remembers lighting beach fires in Howard Beach Queens during the winters when she was growing up. So we dug a fire pit on the beach and stacked some wood next to it. Then I get a text from the manager (who I guess was watching me from one of the security cameras) telling me "fires are not allowed in the off season". Everyone was bummed out, especially my mom. I was pissed but bit my tongue as I carried the wood off the beach. Had the manager been honest and told me there was "no beach fires during the off season", I would have booked elsewhere. I felt like I was duped into booking this place which cost me a very pretty penny for three nights. THE UGLY: When we first checked in (around 8pm) the place was freezing so we cranked the heat. The next morning I get a text from the manager (who monitors the thermostat from afar) and I am told I need to cut back the thermostat so we don't run out of heating oil. I mean, really? For what I paid for this place, I should have a full tank of heating oil and be able to run the thermostat where ever it makes my family comfortable. Before we left I get another text from the manager with a photo of my truck (obviously taken from one of the homes security cameras) with a half cord of wood in the back (for the fireplace & a beach fire) telling me they were "concerned with my having so much wood". This creeped us out and made us feel like Big Brother was watching our every move. Besides that, I feel it is none of their damn business how much wood I have in the back of my truck, especially after being told to keep the thermostat at a "conservative" temperature. Would I stay here again or recommend it to a friend? Negative.

The location is amazing right on the beach and the property manager was always ready to communicate with me - but the property had multiple problems including broken items, dirty floors, dirty sheets in one bedroom, dirty plates in the cupboard and problems with the water that all needs to be fixed before they calling this a luxury rental.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay!! Highly recommend, and we would love to book again. House was very clean, very easy to check in to, host was very responsive, and king bed upstairs was very comfortable. The location was perfect and the views from the house were stunning! The host even left a bottle of wine from a local winery which was very generous. I couldn’t find a washer or dryer in the house, so something to think about for longer stays.

If you love the water, this is your place!

The location and the owner attention are the stars here. Literally right on the beach, a few steps to a beach playground, very short walk to the best restaurant in town - and the owner is responsive and helpful. Our family of 8 adults had plenty of room and enjoyed the view and the great room and water toys (kayaks and paddle boards).

Weekend stay

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and visited with grandchildren. Rental is as advertised, clean, right on beach, quiet area and with excellent check in and communication for any needs.

Beautiful & peaceful

We had a wonderful long weekend here for our Babymoon. Having direct access to the beach was incredible, and we lucked out with a gorgeous weekend. Lots of walks along the water with the ease of being able to run inside for snacks/drinks/bathroom etc. There was plenty to do in area but we also enjoyed cooking meals at the house and sitting outside enjoying the water views. The upstairs bedroom with large window overlooking the waves was so serene! We would definitely come back here, we had a wonderful time!

Beach bliss

The expansive Sound view and the exquisite tidal flats cannot be surpassed! Very relaxing, comfortable home. I especially appreciated the kayaks and paddleboard. Such a fun place for all ages! Very responsive host!

Great House for a Weekend on the Beach

Stayed at Soundview Beach House with three generations of family to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. Great location right on the beach and plenty to do in the area for all ages. House was great, hosts were the best, including bottle of wine on arrival. Highly recommended for family getaway.

Loved waking up every morning to the amazing views, and going for walks with the dog in the quiet neighborhood/beach. Kayaks, a paddleboard, and fishing poles are all provided.
