Escape to By the Brook â A Charming Vermont Chalet
Discover the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation at By the Brook, a peaceful 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom chalet tucked away on a private road, just 10 minutes from Mount Snow and 5 minutes from downtown Wilmington and Dover. Whether you're hitting the slopes, exploring scenic trails, or unwinding by the fire, this inviting retreat is designed for making memories. Our chalet is one of our favorite places in the world. Sitting by the fire on the huge sectional after a day in the snow, or sitting among the treetops on the back deck in the summer and fall bring our family peace, quiet, and comfort. The quiet street (what neighbors?!) gives you the fresh air and the sounds of the birds above and the brook below to enjoy. We always find new adventures, restaurants, and more; we make wonderful family memories there.
Guests love being in the close vicinity to sweet little Wilmington and to Mt. Snow where there are ALWAYS events, festivals, and more...in addition to snow sports, biking, and hiking. Haystack Golf course is our favorite VT course and it's a mile away! You drive by a few of the holes to get to the home.
Outdoor Adventures & Local Charm
Vermont isnât just for winter! In warmer months, explore nearby golf courses (just 2 and 4 miles away), scenic hiking and biking trails, and refreshing swimming holes. Lake Whitingham and Lake Raponda offer boating, fishing, and serene waterfront views. Stroll through charming boutiques, antique shops, and outlet stores, then indulge in the incredible local food, brewery, and live music scene.
The Space
Step into a cozy yet spacious haven where nature meets comfort. The main floor features an open-concept living area with a wall of windows, a crackling corner fireplace, and a plush sectional perfect for lounging. The dining table seats 8â10, and the well-equipped kitchenâwith its warm pine backsplashâhas everything you need to cook for your crew.
Venture outside to the wraparound deck, perched high among the trees with stunning seasonal views. Enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the Adirondack chairs, gather around a fire table under the stars, and let the soothing sounds of the brook below set the tone for your stay.
The middle floor hosts three comfortable bedrooms, a full bath, laundry facilities, and a separate entranceâideal for families or groups. The lower level is all about fun, with darts, foosball, ping pong, a Pac-Man arcade game, and a TVâperfect for winding down after a day of adventure.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Main floor: 1 queen bedroom
Middle floor: 2 queen bedrooms, 1 bedroom with a full bed + bunk beds.
Three full bathrooms, one on each level for added convenience and privacy.
Pet-Friendly
We know how special it is to travel with your four-legged friend! Dogs (sorry, no cats) are welcome with prior notice and a pet fee, which helps ensure the home is fresh and ready for the next guests.

We love this house for our family and friends, but also to share the Vermont way of life with you. Southern VT is one of the most beautiful places in New England and is perfect for fun and adventure as well as peace, quiet, and relaxation!

Wilmington is the perfect little town for us to escape from the hustle and bustle. Our street is very quiet and peaceful, but not a long drive to get to the action on the mountain, the trails, the water, or the golf course.
And did we mention the awesome food and breweries around?!
Wilmington gives you the full Vermont lifestyle without having to drive too too far north! It's perfect for a quick getaway any time of the year while still offering enough to do for a full week or extended stay.

This house is perfect for one large family or two families to share for a fun vacation! The home has 4 bedrooms (3 queens, plus a full and set of bunks in the 4th bedroom). There are also 3 full bathrooms so everyone can have the privacy they need.
The basement has a ping pong table, foosball, darts, a TV (BYO video games), and a Pac-Man arcade game! Fun for adults and kids alike!
