Brand new 5 bedroom house on top of a mountain with central air and a great view.
We love the views and the quiet surroundings. Guests compliment the windows and the open design of the house. Groups of up to 14 will be very comfortable - if you need a few more spots please reach out to see if we can accommodate your group size.
Enjoy the first floor primary suite with direct access to the large deck to enjoy your morning coffee. We designed and built this house to capture the mountain top views. The views from the Great Room, Loft, Balcony and Deck all prove that you are on top of a mountain. Each bedroom facing the rear of the house has large windows to capture the vista. Use the open kitchen or the outdoor grill to prepare meals. Take in the stars by our firepit with ample firewood provided. Sit on the deck or front porch to enjoy a drink and relax. Explore the 27 acre property using the hiking trails. Sit around our 12' long table or around the island to enjoy the meals you cook in our well equipped kitchen or on the grill.
Take a 15 minute drive to the Tatman Run beach or boat ramp access Raystown Lake. Explore the Balanced Rock or fish for trout at Trough Creek State Park. Pizza, ice cream and groceries are available by a 20 minute drive to Saxton. In the fall you will enjoy spectacular scenes as the leaves turn.
We provide all linens, towels, a fully equipped kitchen with two dishwashers, a large gas range and spacious island. Gas grill and plenty of firewood for fire pits will be provided. Ample parking for a group provided.

We enjoy days on the property when we can soak in the views, enjoy walks in the woods and time with family and friends. We live in Arlington, VA and spend many weekends at the Respite Mountain House property. Chris enjoys trout fishing at Trough Creek State Park. Angie enjoys walks in the neighborhood.
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
After owning this property for17+ years, last year we decided to build a house for family and friends to gather. The setting is majestic and private. We enjoy the wildlife and watching the sunrise. Some days we look down on the clouds which fill the valley. We have seen red tail hawks, bald eagles, woodpeckers and hummingbirds.

We designed our house around the view. It is the first thing people notice when they enter during the daytime. There is ample space for a group. The house sits on 27 acres which guests are free to explore. Chris designed and built the house with Angieâs love of light and the view in mind. It has been a labor of love we want to share with family, friends and guests.
Our 86â TV now gives entertainment options for the rainy days and nights. The fall leaves have begun to turn and sunrises have been amazing. The new range hood and pot filler make cooking in the open kitchen very enjoyable.
At night you can enjoy the stars in a very dark context. Some nights the moon is so bright that you can walk outside without a flashlight. The stars are amazing!
The basement rec room will be the 2025 project and we will change our post when it has been completed.
Our 86â TV now gives entertainment options for the rainy days and nights. The fall leaves have begun to turn and sunrises have been amazing. The new range hood and pot filler make cooking in the open kitchen very enjoyable.
