The cottage was just as advertised. Not fancy but almost everything we need was there. Could have used a cutting board and the downstairs bedroom door had no curtain so the sunlight woke us up earlier than planned, but the next day we just hung a towel over it. Really minor thing. The AC units worked great! The host welcomed us and then gave us total privacy. We would definitely stay again when visiting the North Fork.

We chose this cottage primarily because of its excellent location, which was very convenient for our visit. Unfortunately, there were several issues that significantly affected our stay.The most significant problem was a strong, persistent musty odor coming from the second bedroom. The odor was so strong that we could not use that bedroom for sleeping and eventually had to remove our suitcases from the room because the smell was permeating them. After it rained, the odor became substantially stronger. When we investigated, we found black residue in several areas, including inside the closet.There were also some other maintenance issues. The bathroom exhaust fan was not working, the window and door coverings did not provide the privacy we expected.On the positive side, the location was excellent and very convenient for us. However, given the condition of the cottage, particularly the persistent musty odor and the issues we encountered during our stay, we would not choose to stay here again.

The cottage was perfect! We were in town for a wedding and made it a long weekend . Our host was responsive and friendly. The cottage was comfortable and private. The views were amazing. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Nice spot near the water. Long dock with benches and outdoor furniture to enjoy the views. Clean with good beds and nice linens. Lots of towels. Best yet- 3 kayaks! A bit of a sloped, grassy walk from small parking area.

AWESOME VIEW

The cottage was immaculate and stocked with everything that you'd need (cooking utensils, quality towels and bedding). There is a BBQ out back and Rose provided the charcoal & lighter. Private sitting area was perfect and the sunsets were breath-taking. Close enough to Greenport, Shelter Island and plenty to keep you busy if you choose. We were able to relax and unwind, perfect for what we were looking for!

Property was precisely on the waterfront with beautiful views of the surroundings and especially the sunsets over the water. There were 3 kayaks and a canoe on the property for use, and we enjoyed paddling around the very calm waters. Great bicycling (mostly flat roads), and able to avoid busy streets for the most part.Easy walk to Fishermen's Beach, which was very peaceful - and the water was perfect. Other beaches a bit further --- some were reachable by bicycle - most or all of the beaches require town of Southold stickers to park.Rose was very gracious --- main house is on the property, but utmost privacy was preserved. Highly recommend a stay.
