Hus av schweizisk stuga med utsatta douglasgranskar. Baksidan av hemmet har alla fönster som öppnas mot däck och skog. 2 sovrum med öppet loft för 3: e sovrummet, med 2 badrum. 6 sovplatser men öppet för en större grupp. Har moderna apparater inklusive kylskåp, diskmaskin, tvättmaskin / torktumlare, höghastighetsinternet. Öppet kök, bra för underhållning med stort bord med plats för 20. Glas innesluten dusch nedervåningen med badkar / handdusch på övervåningen. Tyst skog med några stigar och landsvägar för promenader. Amazing location and beautiful property

We stayed here a couple of years ago and were excited to return. Not too far from north Hampton and enjoyed some nice hikes and time with family. Perfect spot for relaxing.

Delightful nature

The house was warm, comfortable, tasteful, and had everything we needed. It was delightfully free of the corporate chain feel of some rentals, it felt like staying at a friend’s home. We enjoyed seeing the beaver pond and listening to the woodpeckers and other birds. We had a lovely time and would love to return!

Peaceful cabin in the woods

We spent the weekend between hectic college visits and it was the rest we needed. I felt my blood pressure fall as soon as we walked I. The house. It has just snowed and it was so quiet and beautiful. I heard an owl in the evening. WiFi was excellent. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were super comfy. The beams of the house were so cool to look at. Laura responded quickly to our few messages. Would definitely stay again!

Couldn't have been better

We've rented a lot of houses over the years; this is exactly what you look for in a rental house. Everything was at least as described verbally and visually (but in most cases, better). The house was very clean; comfortable and cozy, beds very comfortable; kitchen well-appointed with everything we needed. Excellent communication & attention to the kinds of details that make a difference. Thank you very much, Laura; our family had a fantastic time!

Winter Wonderland

We drove up just after New Year looking for the quiet winter holiday that can be hard to get with family, and this rental provided exactly what we were looking for! The building is a treasure and fun just to hang out in. Our group of old college friends took turns cooking meals and playing card and board games, plus walks down to the beaver dam and back. The toddler had a blast sledding down the little slope in the back yard. We hope to come back soon!

Bright and Warm Mountain Retreat

Weekend in the Birkshires

Friend had a wedding nearby and we stayed the weekend here. Lovely property, stilysh, clean, warm and very comfortable. Absolutely would return. Would love to have explored the state forest nearby but didnt have the time. Laura was a great host and home had nice body wash, shampoo, coffee and nice dishes, washer and dryer. Bring your own groceries as there isnt much in the area although we didnt look that hard as had meals at the wedding venue.

Short get away

My wife , mysf and our 13 year old dog enjoyed our stay very much. The 3 bedroom was much more than we needed but I have to be honest that I fell in love with the timber framed home . I am a woodworker and former Industrial Arts teacher and really enjoyed the Post and beam framing .

Home away from home comfort

This house has everything you could possibly need. If you are looking for peace and quiet this house is for you. Pleasant outdoor surroundings and comfortable indoor amenities. The house is conveniently located to explore the area by foot and car. Laura was very helpful when we have questions. We enjoyed our stay so much we will be sure to use this house again.

Quiet, surrounded by nature

Our family absolutely loved our stay! We all commented that we would love to one day live in a place like this! :-) Gorgeous home (clean & welcoming) and gorgeous wooded area (loved sitting by the babbling brook)!!! Overall wonderful, relaxing experience. Would come back in a heart beat!

Wooded, remote and cozy

We really enjoyed staying in this warm and relaxing space. It was the end of winter and we had lovely walks both out back and at the historic properties 20 min away. Nice, cozy/romantic place, equipped with plenty of good music, books and games, comfortable beds and fine bathrooms/kitchen.

AMAZING Getaway

This house was incredible - off the beaten path and very private - we felt like the only ones there. The house was impeccable, had everything we needed for the few day's stay, and was just the right size for our family of 5. The owner was very responsive and even offered for us to stay past sign out time when a freezing rain storm hit the night before we were planning to leave. This was our favorite VRBO yet

Perfect

I can't say enough about the Swiss Chalet in The Berkshires. It was beautiful and abundantly appointed. I stayed there with two of my lifelong friends, and each one of us had the same positive reaction - it just made you feel good. The remote & quiet location was just what we needed to decompress, but getting to Pittsfield and area attractions was an easy drive. I would stay again in a heart beat! Thank you!

Perfect times in Peru!

Laura's terrific timber frame home was the perfect early March reset that my family needed! Coming from Albany, NY; Peru was a perfect halfway point enroute to a conference that we were attending in Amherst. The home was cozy, well appointed, and had eclectic decor. Even though it has a small footprint, it felt spacious. With March weather being unpredictable, we had an outside fire one evening and snow the next. It made the forest surrounding the property look absolutely enchanting! Many thanks for a wonderful getaway!

Peaceful Getaway

We had a perfect week at this home in Peru. It's secluded, peaceful, and so cozy. I stayed with a friend and my dog and worked remotely, which went off without a hitch. The wifi was great through conference calls, and the dining room table was a perfect desk spot. The natural light in this house is a dream. We loved our stay so much that we've already made tentative plans to return in the spring. 10/10!

Lovely chalet in the woods

Our family have a wonderful time staying in the chalet. We explored the woods with our young children. The house is stocked with essentials along with fun surprises, like toys for the kids. The beds were very comfortable and the chalet is clean, bright, and fun. We would definitely return.

My husband and I built this house ten years ago. Much of the finishing materials and many of the fixtures were recycled from many NYC condo renovations since we are in the construction business. The house is a work in progress- this year we plan to work the grounds with blueberry bushes and more trails through the forest along the creek.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The best part about this location is the quiet peaceful location. It is near the country towns ('hilltowns') where there are many small farms and artisans. And it is in the Berkshires with all the cultural activities they have to offer. We find it is an oasis for our family compared to the city life we lead. Now that our daughters are grown, I find it was helpful for them to have known a different style of life our life Brooklyn.

My first idea about building this house was it would be similar to camping in comfort.
The timber frame of the house was designed and built by a Swiss Company in British Columbia, Canada. The timbers are from douglas fir trees. At the time it was one of 3 built with the same design. The same company also built many Chalets in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
