Flamingo House är ett härligt tropiskt hem med en speciell ö-stil. Ristade flamingo på takfoten, snäckskal, ananas och palmer snidade i räcken. Verkligen ett strandhus 200 steg från golfstranden.

På första våningen ingår uppvärmd utomhuspool med däck och kol Weber-grill. Andra våningen är vardagsrum och sovrum. Öppet plan kök med bar som serverar 6 och angränsande matsal för 8, stort vardagsrum med underhållningscenter inklusive satellit-TV, DVD och Karaoke. Lanai täckt däck med utsidan äter utsikt över poolen. Det stora sovrummet har dubbelsäng, klädkammare, privat badrum med separat jacuzzi och duschkabin. De andra sovrummen har en drottning och två tvillingar. Vardagsrummet har en drottningssäng. Dessutom ingår en tvättmaskin och torktumlare, sängkläder och badlakan.
Framför allt finns ett observationsdäck med fantastisk utsikt över viken, Pine Island Sound och North Captiva Nature Preserve.

Detta fritidshus ligger på North Captiva Island. North Captiva Island är avlägset och oupptäckt och är endast tillgänglig med färja, privat båt eller ett litet plan. Detta privata ösamhälle påminner om gamla Florida som det en gång var under en enklare tid. Detta tropiska paradis ligger bara 3 mil från stranden och är en del av Lee Island Coast barriäröskedjan i South West Florida. Närmaste flygplats att flyga till skulle vara i Fort Myers, Fl. Res med golfvagn eller cykel på våra sandiga inhemska spår. Här hittar du inga bilar, inga folkmassor eller asfalterade vägar. North Captiva Island erbjuder en liten stadsintryck med tillräckligt med bekvämligheter för din familj. Nice House

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice house but the pictures and description are better than the actual experience. First of all, it is not 200 steps from the beach. Granted, it is close but the description offered makes you think the house is right off the beach when in reality, it is more like over 1000 steps or a 0.2 mile ride on a golf cart that was less than reliable (broke down while driving to the vacation club office). The air conditioning wasn’t working properly. My husband has to remove the air filter that looked like it hadn’t been changed in about a year, only then did the house start to cool off. Overall, for the price we paid, we were expecting a more worry free vacation than we actually got.

Great but..

The interior looks better than in the pictures. The place was very clean and cozy. Of course, everything could use an upgrade. Unfortunately, the water is not drinkable and the remorse osmosis and filtered water from the fridge didn't work so we had to keep buying overprised small bottles. A handy man came to fix it the same day I reported it but no luck. From the description of the property is not clear whether golf carts are included. They are not. I received a vip code to reserve a golf cart for free only to be told at check-in that this was a mistake. Golf carts are as costly as a car. Booking through the club has the disadvantage that you have to do the checkin and checkout twice. Once at the ferry, and 2nd time on the island as opposed to a private host where we could park closer to the ferry and not wait 30 min for the valet.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is a very nice house, possibly a little updating would be a plus. The internet was unstable and it was disappointing not to be able to stream videos on iPads or have smart TVs provided. A lot of drawers in the bedrooms are taken up with storage of items and reduces clothing storage for guests. Pillows in master bedroom are very flat and could be replaced. Biggest headache was not with property but with Golf Cart rental. The cart provided broke down on second day, replacement cart broke down and they were both in very poor condition. Puts a damper on the island experience. The staff is very kind and hard working at NCIC but on a Saturday check-in they are completely overwhelmed and understaffed. There was no dockmaster (he was assigned to help with guest luggage?) to ensure other boats were not taking reserved slips. Very chaotic on a Saturday check-in. Golf cart rentals are absolutely dismal. I might recommend to others but would definitely make sure my recommendation came with the warnings about docking, golf carts, etc

Beautiful Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Flamingo House checked all our boxes. It's a short golf cart ride to the huge beach, with parking for the golf cart. Hop back in when you're done and you're quickly back at your own pool which was perfect. The inside of the house is nice and open with plenty of room. Everyone was helpful when we arrived and departed the island. Great house to stay in

We ran into issues with the club since the moment we arrived and leading into our vacation. The two ladies at the front desk were very nice and tried helping us as much as possible.

Great Property!

Our stay at the Flamingo House was great. Pictures and description of house was exactly as it was. We loved the pool and driving around the island in our golf cart that we got at the North Captiva Island Resort office when we checked in. Very low-key island with beautiful beaches. We went kayaking and ate several times at the 3 restaurants on the island. I would definitely go back!

Beautiful peaceful North Captiva

We had a wonderful week at flamingo house! The house is better I think than pictured very charming. I loved that we had several places we could eat either in the kitchen on the porch or down under the deck by the pool! The beds were very comfortable and the house was immaculate. We used Debbie Winstead as a grocery service and it was fantastic all we had to do was throw on our suits when we arrived at the island. The only reason I gave it a four instead of a five is we spotted some cockroaches . There were three hanging out on the ceiling pretty much the whole week in the kitchen and I spotted one very large one in the bathroom one night. Because I realize that this is kind of a normal thing in these types of homes and in the tropics I didn’t get upset about it. It might bother some People but not us. We had a fabulous week there and I will definitely return!

Gathering Space

Very clean upon arrival. Tons of beach towels. Short walk to the beach. (wear flip flops or shoes on sunny days. Sand gets HOT!) The open plan of kitchen/dining/living room afforded interaction with family and friends when indoors. The pool area is also inviting to a large family. Only complaint about pool is that it would be better if water was cooler, but it is in direct sun all day. Staff was very attentive and addressed golf cart charging concerns quickly. Loved the July 4th Golf Cart parade! Great house for the cost on beautiful N Captiva. Rented a boat slip with this rental. Another boat was parked in our numbered slip, but had no issues docking in the next slip. Spoke to others at marina that had issues when dock master wasn't on site. We decided to cut our trip short because of Elsa, but crammed in the fun at Flamingo House while there.

Spring Break 2020 getaway!

Process with owner to get into house was seamless. Place was great for our group of 6, amenities were perfect. Golf cart very useful and group had a great time. Definitely would like to come back!

Wonderful home. Perfect for our family.

Loved the location of this home. So close to the beach and Club amenities. It was perfect for our family of 7. Fully stocked kitchen made the trip more affordable. We would definitely recommend this home to other families.

Flamingo House

The overall experience was good, however, the little things matter too.... The property was as described except for all the construction surrounding it. Upon our arrival, we were given access to the property via a very rundown golf cart that ran but had clearly seen better days. Not a big deal, but Needs to be refurbed or replaced (as the first impression of upon arrival) Our issues really started when we were forced to reschedule due to Hurricane Dorian. We were not told that ALL the restaurants except “Mangos” would be closed for the off season. Mangos is barely a restaurant, they are more like a Nice, overly priced one-stop convenience store.....Luckily, we came prepared with extra sundries or else we would’ve paid dearly. The ability to order fresh fish at Boats and Fun was a welcome touch (again crazy expensive, but nice)The house was also nice and was really well equipped but is in desperate need of an outdoor overhaul. Our kids loved the pool but the junked catamaran and sailboat hull under the house need to go....frankly it looked awful and affected the General appearance of an otherwise charming beach house. Overall, We had a good time, however the North Captiva staff was minimally helpful at best. They seemed to do the bare minimum. (ie answering the phone (which was difficult to get people on the line) or just overall helpfulness (our case of water, though labeled correctly was given to another house and was returned to us already used (missing some bottles). We were told you can buy some more water at the store (at like $3.00 per bottle, net loss $12.00) not the end of the world but they really could care less about the screw up. In summary, North Captiva island staff appears to be operating with zero accountability to anyone and it is clear they’ll just do what it takes to get you to leave them alone..... in the face of all that, we really enjoyed the island, beaches and family time. If you come here, prepare and bring either lots of $$ (prices are understandably expensive, it is an island) or plenty of sundries to tide you over during your stay......

Perfect family getaway

The Flamingo house on North Captiva Island was perfect for our family. We had 4 adults and two kids and the house felt huge! The pool was well taken care of and the kitchen well appointed. The island is a gem- we felt so relaxed and basically didn't put shoes on all week. The only downside to our stay was that there was construction all around the house with three new houses being built on two sides of the house. During the day it could get loud with heavy machinery, but was quiet at night.

Nice house

We recently spent a week at the Flamingo house. We were 4 adults and 4 kids. The house is nicely wise with open concept which is so comfortable, we really like that everything was in one floor. The only things to change are: queen mattresses and pillows as they feel in bad conditions, no very good to sleep in. The other thing is that the pool looks also old. The management cleaned it but at the bottom was still dirty with black spots. Also the house is near by a lot of nature debris which generate ponds after rains and a lot of mosquitos to be around. I don't know if this is something relate to the house's owner or the administration of the Island. In general it was a good experience, this is our 5th year going and definitively not the last one.

Slice of Pardise

This was once of our best vacations thus far! The weather was great, the beaches were nice, the staff was amazing! Flamingo House was exactly what we expected! The property is nice, great location, light and airy, spacious, in good repair. Only 2 things could be improved upon - the bed in the master bedroom is hard as a rock (the rest of the beds were great though) and the pool was hot, more appropriate for cooler weather. Staff added cold water on two occasions but the second time they came out they said what really needed to happen was a partial drain and fill with cold water - the temp was 95 degrees at 9 am! Those were minor issues that could be dealt with, overall the place was wonderful and we plan to come back! (It was so great I asked my 7-year-old if we should go to Disney World or North Captiva Island again and he said North Captiva of course!!!)

ac in home didn't work

The house was fine after the ac was fixed. The kayaks were in desperate need of repair/no handles to carry/seat backs broken, bicycles/tires were flat. Asked for a tire pump none available nor was anyone to help. Restaurant s were expensive, wait staff were short with questions borderline rude. Have you ever heard of a restaurant charging you extra for sharing a sandwich with your husband? Well they do this here and at all restaurants. The General store carried things like windex and bug spray for your home. Hmm I'm on vacation not there to kill bugs in the home I'm renting for 3 nights. Nor do I want to clean windows on my vacation lol. We bought maybe a 4 ounce bottle of virgin olive oil for 5.00. The store didn't even have ketchup. A basic for most BBQ s. Would I stay there again? Hmm not really. Again the home was fine but the people we had encountered were not the friendliest or helpful! Sorry thumbs down on the North Captiva Island club. We won't visit again.
