Austin trip

The property was great. Very clean, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and nice to have 2/2. There were blips: the electronic lock did not work and it was hard to get into the house when we arrived. Luckily the manager answered the phone and we managed to get a key from the lockbox. Couldn't get the TV to work. No blow dryer. Otherwise great.

Wish it was a little bigger.

The overall stay experience was alright. The place looked clean and everything was very tidy. The disappointment started with the size of the rooms. For some reasons, I anticipated it to be a little bigger. Maybe I misinterpreted the pictures I saw on the listing. The entire place doesn't feel more than 300-350sqft despite having everything. Adding just 4 bags filed the place up quickly. The other thing was, the place was too loud as the place was off the ground, every footstep could be heard in all rooms, paper thin walls (imagine using bathroom without music). The beds was good but I missed a decent blanke, it was just a thin sheet with no heft to it. The host was very communicating but wasn't able to resolve these nuisances during the stay. Maybe I am spoiled by the amenities provided by the hotels, but I really expected few basic things like soap, some coffee n sugar (given the place had 2 coffee makers and lot of cups), hairdryer. 2nd day into the stay, it smelled of pet in the living area. I informed the owner of this as this is listed as a no pets property. The overall stay experience was neutral. The proximity to the city and a responsive host was definitely a plus but a few inconveniences because of the lack of amenities just dragged the overall experience down.
