Almost scammed

This room was perfect for our needs. However the pool lights and jets as well as the outdoor fan didn’t turn on. In addition, the number that initially contacted us through whatsapp was asking for an additional $1000 and we had to call customer service to confirm it was hacked.

Very good position and beautiful condo

Minor maintenance issues were quickly resolved. The concierge was wonderful. Disappointed to pay $20 for 2 towels, but they required it.

The studio is located in the beautiful Aldea Thaï hotel where you have access to all their ameneties (pool, gym, water stations). A minute walk to the beach and a few minutes walk to calle 5 with loads of great restaurants and shops. The only negative is that the deck overlooks a street where the staff from the next hotel have their smoke breaks so not the best privacy but it didn’t bother us too much. Would recommend for a budget friendly place in a great neighborhood! The place was clean, the bed super comfortable, and Mateo was great to communicate with.

Perfect for a short stay and steps from the beach. Great nightlife just a couple of blocks away. The rental is quiet at night.

No batteries in safe-provide ur own Only 1 trash bags-provide ur own and take out ur own trash Three days to make ice in fridge—it needs defrosting Needs new mattress unless you like feeling springs Only received 1 key due to miscommunication between facility & mgr Pool needed water when we arrived and pool is not private from standpoint of being seen. Everyone above you, beside you, and across the street can see you and no way to turn off lights at night

Great location and friendly staff. Many restrictions on visitors. It could get very noisy during the day due to the beach club and the parking garage entry next to the apartment. Balcony is definitely not private. Also you do not have beach access from the property.

Greta location!

Everything was as described....clean, very short walk to Everything (Beach, quinta avenida etc). Small pool on patio is nice but we were too busy to use it. Checkin and out was simple and easy. Keep in mine there is an entrance to a beach club right outside the patio area so when they kick everyone out around 630/7, there are alot of people existing and can boisterous. There's also vendors and musicians catering to those people for a short time period. Actual music from the beach club was a non issue. The bed mattress may need replacing soon and the bed makes noise whenever you move, but didn't bother us too much. Would recommend!

Aldea Thai Playa del Carmen June Stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, weather was hot and muggy thru out our stay. The noisy air conditioner needed to stay on pretty much 24-7. The Studio is located near a noisy pump room. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Also, Studio is next to noisy hotel with music blaring and loud parties. Although the Studio was clean and functional there were no chairs to sit on except for two bar stools. The pool is more of a non functioning jacuzzi. The Studio is not handicapped equipped as is the complex including the pool. Overall, you can’t beat the rate if you’re willing to make sacrifices. Plan on staying out of room exploring Playa del Carmen and wearing yourself out so you sleep somewhat comfortable. Or, drink a lot of tequila.

You get what you pay for

The property itself was average. General maintenance flaws like missing tiles, mold in shower, and stains on walls, water not getting hot. The property is a private condo owned within a large hotel called Aldea Thai. The location in PDC is great. How ever we Will NEVER use Playa Moments or VRBO ever again. We used a different credit card to book the stay and had to repay in CASH. Both Playa Moments and VRBOs policies are NOT traveler friendly. We were told the card refund would take “a couple days,” but per Playa Moments website up to 30 days is normal. We did not receive the refund until over two weeks after the issued date. This left us nearly stranded in Mexico as we had to repay for the stay with all of our spare cash. Horrible experience. Seemed like the property representative we interacted with did not know the refund policy or times very well. Super unhappy with this experience.

Terrific place

We really loved this place. The unit was clean and as described. It was quiet at night and really close to the beach. We loved the private sitting pool, I don't think the pictures did it justice on just how private that area really is. This unit is on the least busy side of the building with the only outlet to a small private beach club. Noise really wasn't ever an issue unlike some other places in Playa. You check in with the hotel, so whenever you get there seems to be fine. They also were really attentive and able to help us with a few minor requests. lots of restaurants nearby as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Private but loud on occasion

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this unit and it’s relative privacy compared to comparable units in this price range. Plenty of space, all staff is friendly and helpful and the Aldea Thai complex is gorgeous. However, unit 1101(101) requires some noise tolerance that is beyond the ability of the management to control. In the morning the metal tanks for (we think) soda machines and dive boats are delivered and they make a substantial metallic thunk as they’re unloaded onto the street. Then about an hour later a dump truck arrives to empty the dumpsters just inside the parking garage, accompanied by the back-up beep, large truck and dumping sounds. We wanted to be up about the time of day anyway, so we stayed to make breakfast and get ready for the day while that happened. Much louder and longer were the dance club noises coming from Coralina at the Hyatt about 5 afternoons a week. We could see the club entrance from our patio but there are nice screening plants around the pool so we never felt on display but enjoyed people-watching the kids who lined up to get into the ‘daylight ‘ club. That means there’s some level of club noise that starts around 1:00 and ends by about 5:00. The loud times were from about 2:30-4:30, times we were usually at the beach or big pool or somewhere else. Even then, there were only a couple of days out of our 3 weeks when the club noise became intolerable for a half hour or so. I’m talking midtown Manhattan during morning rush with sirens from a five-alarm fire followed by a bank robbery loud. Fortunately the club closes around 5:00 pm, and it isn’t always that crazy loud. In retrospect, ALL of Playa around 5th is fairly loud in the afternoon and evening. Good news, most of the loud restaurants’ on 5th and side streets turn things down by 9-10 at night. So if you’re planning lots of peace and quiet on your vacation, Playa del Carmen near 5th is not for you. However, we love being so close to the b

A studio overlooking a work site.

Reviewer Comments: The room was nice, clean and well maintained but the location of Rm. 1101 ( Aldea Thai labeled it 101) is terrible. It was noisy and lacked privacy - just over the short wall is essentially a work area where deliveries are made and garbage is picked up daily. On weekend nights an EMT truck was parked just beyond the wall to be available for over-exuberant drinkers. During the day, Grand Hyatt employees congregate at the entrance across the street. The interior of the room is also quite noisy - the AC fan is loud and when it stops there is a constant buzz that we labeled the room's 'dial tone'. The TV was nice but there are few English speaking channels.After two nights I went to the Playa Moments office and tried to 'upgrade' my room but they were fully booked.The Aldea Thai condo complex is great and the staff were very helpful. The pool is a great alternative to a beach that is small and can get crowded. I would certainly return there but I'd be much more selective about what room I chose. Second and third floor rooms would be much better, especially those that overlook the interior of the complex. I'd never choose a room on the first floor again and I'd try to stay away from any room that looks out to the Grand Hyatt. Playa Moments was helpful in getting us into the room but lost my confidence when the refrigerator did not work, we could not upgrade and a staff member did not show up for the discharge room check appointment.
