A Step Away: The RendezvousâAll New, Walk to Town
Our neighborhood abuts the Peterson Nature Preserve and our home can be rented with (if available) one/both of our adjacent two bedroom homes (a fence with a gate separates the homes) if more space is desired. Downtown Saugatuck is a short walk away and Douglas and Oval Beach are easy drives. Enjoy all of the amenities provided indoors and outdoors. All "A Step Away" guests receive a discount when shopping our local store during their stay. Lastly, we're dog friendly (w/approval & fee).
Our âA Step Awayâ homeâyour ideal âRendezvousâ getawayâhas so much to offer: location, amenities, and hospitality. This single-story home features a fully renovated interior, a fenced yard with landscaping, and easy on-site parking for a couple of vehicles.
Inside, youâll find comfortable accommodations for two, thoughtfully styled with dĂ©cor that reflects the charm of Saugatuck, Douglas, and the local beach and arts scenes. The home is perfect for a variety of travelersâfrom solo adventurers to couples. Whether youâre traveling alone, with a partner, or renting both this home and one of the adjacent two-bedroom homes next door, youâll enjoy a space designed for carefree living.
The home includes one king bedroom, and the brand-new kitchen with a dining island flows into a vaulted-ceiling living room. Large windows and a glass door offer views of the patios and gardens. The living room opens directly onto a pergola-covered patio, complete with seating and a propane grillâperfect for relaxing or entertaining. The bathroom is also new and includes a shower (no bathtub).

Weâre a Michigan native and a New Englander/New Yorker whoâve been hosting short-term rentals in Saugatuck & Douglas since 2016. This year weâre trying VRBO. Weâre SuperHosts on the other site so all of our reviews are there.

West Michigan and Saugatuck has beaches and art and feels like the East Coast without the salt and sharks.

We believe in hospitality. Good, comfortable hospitality. We run a home dĂ©cor/menâs clothing/timepiece shop in downtown Saugatuck and our guests receive a discount when they shop our store. Plus, weâre there to be your mini-concierge guys.
