En fem minuters promenad tar dig till Sanibel berömda shelling stranden, tvärs över gatan från vår lägenhet enhet. Nyligen renoverade nyligen i Sanibel-stil, är enheten vackert inredd med original konst, kakelgolv, dekoratörsmöbler, ett helrenoverat mästerbad och ett kök med marmorräknare och "high end" apparater. Sandpebble-komplexet är tyst, intimt och icke-kommersiellt - bara 23 enheter, varav de flesta är ägare. De trädgårdsliknande grunderna sträcker sig längs floden Sanibel, med däck och ät / grillplats med utsikt över Beachview golfbanan, över vattnet. Det trevliga poolområdet har gott om solstolar och bord. Det finns också en tennisbana på fastigheten. Vi har en uthyrare på ön som kan ta upp några frågor eller problem med ett lokalt telefonsamtal.

Enheten ligger på den översta (4: e) våningen, med den bästa vyn och inga ljud från enheter ovanför. Vår nyutnämnda Lanai är nykaklat och har bekväma stolar för avkoppling och en attraktiv matplats.

Vi är tvärs över gatan från stranden, men vegetation och en lägenhetskomplex döljer vår tidigare delvisa utsikt över bukten. Men från den andra sidan av lägenheten ser du fågel- och djurlivet längs floden Sanibel och golfarna flyttar nerför farten. Köket är fullt utrustat med alla redskap en gäst kan behöva piska upp allt från mikrovågs popcorn till en gourmetmat. Det rymliga vardagsrummet har plattskärms-TV med DVD, stereo med MP3-anslutning, WiFi (och en höghastighetsinternetanslutning) och ett litet bibliotek med kokböcker och böcker om lokala aktiviteter och Sanibelens flora och fauna. Det finns tv-apparater i båda sovrummen. Enheten är utrustad med en Bosch diskmaskin; myntdrivna tvättmaskiner och torktumlare är bekvämt belägna bara nere.

Sandpebble är centralt beläget på Sanibels nätverk av cykelvägar - en kort åktur till affärerna längs Periwinke Way, en längre peddle till vilda djur på Ding Darling National Wildlife Centre eller det nya Sanibel Recreation Centre med sin olympiska pool, gym och vikt rum, tända tennisbanor och barnens vatten lekplats. Oavsett om det är stränder, parker och djurliv, shopping eller bra restauranger, hittar du allt Sanibel har att erbjuda nära till hands.

Great stay on Sanibel!

We enjoyed our stay here. The condo is well appointed and we didn't lack for anything. The check-in was very easy and we loved being so close to the expansive beach. If you like shell-picking, this is a great spot for it. The beds are comfortable and the lanai is an added plus. Parking is very convenient and we appreciated the elevator to the 4th floor. All together an excellent stay on the island.

Sandpebble - Sanibel

Perfect for our needs. We were visiting our parents and wanted to stay near-by. The condo was generously sized for Sanibel (we've been coming here for decades), with a great kitchen and comfortable common space. Perhaps the only drawback was that it is not on the beach side of Middle Gulf Drive. For us, that wasn't an issue as we spent most of our time with family.

Cute Condo

We were pleased with the furnishings, comfort and cleanliness of the condo. We never did see the "peek-a-boo" view of the gulf. A condominium complex or apt. complex has been built in front of Sandpebble Condominiums and a view is not available now, but it is not far to walk through there and get to the beach. Also, there is no washer/dryer in the unit. It is downstairs and a shared coin laundry, but in October we did not have to wait for a washer or dryer. We enjoyed our stay, but a little disappointed that there was no view or a washer and dryer in the unit. I feel that the overview and amenities should be corrected in the description.

Highly recommend !

Had a great stay . The condo exceeded our expectations. Spacious and well equipped. Also enjoyed the outdoor grills and dining areas overlooking the canal. Reservation process was prompt and easy, including the actual check-in and out at the island. Highly recommend this location.

Great place to stay!

My husband and I recently stayed in this condo and it was perfect! Very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The king size bed was wonderful and very good quality. The Churches' were very accommodating and the entire rental process could not have been easier. Sanibel is a beautiful island with great food, interesting wildlife, many fun activities and a beautiful beach with great shelling. We love to bike and the Sanibel bike paths are the best. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay there again sometime. Thank you Tom and Carolyn.

Wonderful - Nothing to worry about afterall!!!

This was our first experience using this type of service and we were a bit apprehensive about being scammed. Initially, we were able to reach the owners by email (with a very prompt reply and answers to our questions), but was unable to reach them by phone as they were on vacation at the time. Although this added to our potential concerns, they put us in touch with their leasing agent, which improved our comfort level (Jeannie at Sanibel Holiday was also great to work with). Tom and Carolyn also blessed us by working with our scheduled arrival date, since we were driving from Indiana and unable to fit into the standard weekly schedule (thank you for this!). Due to the loss of my regular job, we had not been on a family vacation in several years and had very high expectations for this trip, but were blown away when we entered the condo! The pictures are nice, but don't do it justice. As an architect, I see things with a level of detail that others may not care to see, and everything was wonderful. My wife also has health issues, so the elevator and push cart were also a blessing. We had looked at some units closer to the beach, but the money we saved on the other side of the street allowed us to eat out and do some other things that made our trip with our daughters special as well. On the subject of food, we also had a cookout down by the canal, which was very pleasant. Parking was close to our end of the building and it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. It is obvious that the owners know to care for their quests. The weather and shelling were great, I can think of no concerns to report and we received our deposit with no issues. My advice, plan early as this place is very popular! I hope we can return one day. Thank you Tom and Carolyn for making your place available to us. We have never met, and have never even talked on the phone, but you feel like family to me! Michael (Indiana)

Great stay, Gracious owners, we'll be back

First time locating a property on line and it was the BEST experience I have ever had. From the first contact w/Tom to the day of arrival-everything was smooth as silk. This was the best week in Florida we have ever had. (Did I mention that we lived in Ft. Walton Beach for 5 years??). The property has all the personal touches that a guest would need. Beach chairs, beach towels, cooler for the beach, great beds, wonderfully appointed kitchen and a notebook of all the local tips. Books, games, WIFI, and a beach to be marveled at. Cool off in the pool and watch all the wildlife off the back of the property. Wonderful scenery, central location, easy access to all the local sites, and a quiet condo complex was just the answer for us. We will be back......

Beautiful interior, short walk to beach

Our family of 4 has been on several vacations to Sanibel, but this is the 1st time staying at Sandpebble. As other reviewers have said, the condo is beautifully furnished and has everything you'll need. The view over the golf course out the back balcony was my favorite, very quiet and serene. The only drawback is that it is is on Middle Gulf drive which is a very busy road during the day, with a steady stream of traffic all day. The small screen porch on the golf course was great for cross breezes. It was in the 80's and we never used air con, since the breeze kept the condo cool.

Perfect!

I wish I could write a bad review about this apartment, then I can be confident that it will be available whenever we want to go back! It doesn't feel like a rental - it is more like you are staying at a friend's apartment. We loved the layout - there were 3 adults and 2 teenagers and we had plenty of room. The kitchen is very well equipped. We especially loved all the art work on the walls. The boys were often on their own in the pool or shared it with one other family. Sanibel was lovely although extremely hot at this time of the year. We had to walk for about 3 minutes to get to the beach, and on the last day we were rewarded by 2 dolphins joining us as we were in the sea. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough! Thank you - we will definitely come and stay again!

Much better than expected!

The owner's were kind enough to work with our schedule. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the grounds. This is a somewhat small condo complex and it seemed not many people were there this time of year. We had the pool to ourselves most days. Upon arriving inside the condo, we found it nicely appointed and roomy. We were a bit concerned by the size quoted on the website, as there were six in our party. We had 3 teenage boys, but the sofa folded into a queen bed. The layout of the place made it work for us. The kitchen had very nice appliances (something you would have in your own home not a rental), the dishes and glassware were also very nice too. The master bath was also updated and quite lovely. There is a laundry downstairs right off the eleveator. Our overall trip was excellent. We loved Sanibel. All agreed, we would definiitely come back and stay in this condo again. The management company was also fantastic to work with as well. They were a wealth of information if we needed anything.

Sanibel getaway week for two Canadians!

We so enjoyed our vacation in Sanibel late November! The condo was so warm, lovely and comfortable. Although this was to be mainly a relaxing break for us, we rented bicycles and cycled the island, visited three different beaches, shopped at the market on Sunday morning, dined out every evening. Weather was perfect - we did not want to leave :) Thank you Carolyn and Tom!

A Gret R&R from Maine's Long Winter!

This was our 2nd trip to Sandpebble on Sanibel; great condos, plenty of room, nicely decorated - a beautiful area. A walk across the street to the beach, with a quiet, clean private pool area as well. Lots to do on Sanibel and plenty of mainland spots to explore. Highly recommended for those who love walking, biking, photography, and seeing Mother Nature up close.

Wonderful Memories Made in Sanibel

We just arrived home from a wonderful vacation in Sanibel. The condo was much bigger than we anticipated. It afforded privacy for two couples - each having their own bath. We liked the fact the condo was in a smaller complex. The view of the canal was great - we saw a lot of wildlife. The pool was warm and clean. The condo is well equipped and beautifully decorated -we loved the owners' little touches. The beds were comfy and the condo was quiet. The beach is a short walk away and the wi-fi works well. The condo was on the 4th floor but, there is an elevator and, carts to use to bring up your luggage/groceries. If we return to Sanibel, we would definitely rent from these gracious owners again.

Great location, comfortably and thoughtfully decorated

We have stayed at this property on a number of occasions with our children and it is a perfect family vacation spot. The condo is an easy walk across the street from the beach, and the pool is protected and warm and great for kids. The other Sanibel beaches and restaurants and a fabulous playground are any easy bike ride away (we've had no problem locking up our bikes in the parking lot, where there is a designated space for bikes). The interior of the condo is thoughtfully decorated and the kitchen is well stocked.

Great vacation hideaway!

We have stayed at this apartment at Sandpebble twice and loved it both times! The two bedroom, two bath layout is simple and compact, but very tastefully decorated and up-graded in all the right places - a "cut above" the standard rental condo in Sanibel. The master bath was re-done this year in elegant style and the kitchen is well-stocked for the active cook. The "lanai" porch is lovely and we wound up sitting out there for breakfast and supper most days (weather permitting). Perfect for two couples or a small family, the beach is a only a short walk and all of Sanibel's charming attractions are close at hand. In addition to the fantastic beaches for swimming, walking and shell-gathering, "must-do's" include the Ding Darling wildlife reservation, the Saturday farmers' market, and riding the extensive bike paths. The owners have provided a very complete guide to the area and there's lots to do and see very nearby. We highly recommend this condo and will definitely return for another stay.

Wonderful Stay

The condo was well appointed and flexible in layout. (The second bedroom with twin beds and its own bath was great for kids.) The kitchen had what we needed to easily prepare meals and the screened porch was a nice option for an outdoor meal. The location too was nice. A couple of minute walk to the beach or a short bike ride to shops. What we especially liked was that the building itself is small and quiet. It doesn't feel commercial. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others and, in fact, have.

Tom and Carolyn Church are innkeepers during the summer and fall, at Coveside Bed & Breakfast on another beautiful island -- Georgetown Island, on the coast of Maine. Tom is a retired college teacher (political science at the State University of New York in Albany). Carolyn was a travel agent and pastry chef. As innkeepers and frequent travelers (during our off-season), we have a good idea what vacation guests are looking for in a rental property, and have tried to provide this in our Sanibel condo.

Sanibel Island is unique and very special. More than 60 percent of the island is in conservation land that will never be developed. Most of the island roads pass through unspoilt island ecosystems. Development on the island is concentrated along the beaches (though with ample beach access all along the coast); no structures are more than four stories high and the condominium complexes are tasteful, most with substantial green space. Thus, much of the overdevelopment common to the Florida coast has been avoided by careful planning. We were looking for a property on Sanibel that could be upgraded to a high standard (which we have done over the past several years), that was close to the beach, but that wasn't in a busy, 'resort-style' property. Most of the units at Sandpebble are occupied by owners for the winter season, and the complex is quiet and friendly.
