Oak Street Abode: Foosball, Firepit, & Family Fun!

To avoid any confusion, potential guests should thoroughly read ALL information below before requesting to book. (We promise that the info below will better prepare you for your trip and answer 99% of your questions!) Thank you!

UNIT PERKS:
--This rental includes a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, sink, stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven, blender & coffee maker. Essentials like plates, cups, cookware, utensils, & paper towel will be provided for your use. Guests can gather around the kitchen table to enjoy each other’s company over a good meal! (Please note that there is not a dishwasher at this property.)
--Along with coffee, creamer and sweetener are provided.
--Cooking oil, salt/pepper are provided. Brands provided depend on what's in stock at local stores, so if you have specific brand/flavor preferences for these items, please feel free to bring your own. :)
--Small beach toys for kids and a large woven beach towel is provided for each guest.
--There is enough space for four (4) cars to park in front of the house.
--There are two bathrooms; one master bathroom with a shower, as well as a bathroom with a full tub.
--There is a foosball table in the (unfinished) basement, where guests are welcome to play. Please note that the ceiling is low in certain areas, so any tall guests will need to be mindful of their head.
--There is an outdoor firepit with chairs to enjoy; please see additional information labeled "OUTDOOR SPACE" below.
--A hair dryer and showering essentials/bath towels are available. Each bedroom has clothing storage and hangers. There is also an iron and ironing board.

*Please note: This home shares outdoor space with a small studio/carriage house in the backyard. While both sets of guests will have their own private home/interior space, the outdoor space around the firepit may be shared with guests who are renting the studio (up to three people).

SLEEPING SET UP:
The Oak Street Abode sleeps max of 9 people in the following areas:
--Master Bedroom: 3 people total. One king bed (2 people) and one fold out futon (1 person). Note that guests are welcome to move this small futon to the living area if they'd like.
--Queen Bedroom: 2 people total. One queen bed.
--Trundle Bedroom: 2 people total. Twin trundle bed.
--Living area: 2 people total (pull out couch).

TECHNOLOGY:
--A large, flat screen smart TV is hooked up in your living area, though we recommend the outdoors over the tube! ;) There is also a flat screen TV in the master bedroom.
--Wifi is provide -- at least 100Mbps
--A washer/dryer is available for your use in the unfinished basement.

OUTDOOR SPACE:
--The shared outdoor space in the backyard has 12 plastic adirondack chairs and a firepit. Please note that guests are responsible for bringing their own firewood, and that you may see additional guests from the carriage house in the backyard/around the firepit as well. While the yard is fully fenced, neighbors on both sides do have dogs. The dogs DO bark when they see new people; although we've found that they typically taper off after we've been outside for awhile.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
We welcome guests of all backgrounds! However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage, we will only be accepting booking requests from:
--Users who already have positive reviews.
--Users who have provided verified government ID.
--Renters that are above the age of 25.
--Renters who are not bringing pets.
We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events/gatherings/parties are not to be held by guests. In order to keep the home in excellent condition for future guests, we are firm on these rules. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

***As hosts, we have sustained damages to our properties in the past. Because we value our relationships with our neighbors and because we aim to keep the properties in top condition, we do require guests to have previous positive reviews from past trips. If you do not have previous positive reviews from past trips, we do require a fully refundable $500 damage deposit. The deposit is returned on your day check out when the cleaning team arrives and confirms the property is in good condition.***

***Note that if you are bringing infants/babies, the house is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) We also do not have a pack-and-play/portable crib, so guests will need to bring their own.***

***Note that while the house has undergone a full rehab, it is older and does have some low headers/ceililngs in certain areas. Taller guests will need to be mindful of their head in a few spots.***

CHECK-IN INFO:
--Guests who book will receive detailed check-in instructions and a key code for entry on the morning of their scheduled arrival. All of this will be communicated through messenger.
--Please note that Michigan City is on Central Standard Time (CST). Check-in is between 4 and 9 p.m.; guests must check out by 10 a.m. so that we can clean/prepare for our next renters before they arrive.
--Our cancellation policy is moderate.
