This place was absolutely perfect for my family! Great amount of space, very peaceful and enough to keep the kids busy and occupied. Not to mention the all the amenities we had access to was so helpful!! The ease of the whole stay was absolutely wonderful! The host was very kind and quick to respond with any questions we had. I higy recommend booking this place I'd you are going to be in the area!

This place was absolutely amazing! Our book club stayed here for our annual reading retreat. The entire property was clean and beautiful. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and stocked full of everything you could need. We will absolutely be stayng here again for our next retreat!

Absolutely beautiful house and we loved the location. Very peaceful but close to the lake.Loved that everyone had their own bedroom & plenty of bathrooms. Excellent communication with the home owner. We will definitely be back.

Wedding guests

We had a family wedding in nearby Monroe City, and we needed a place to stay. This place worked perfectly for us. We enjoyed the quiet setting. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. We were able to find everything we needed…including an iron and steamer for those dress clothes. We would definitely stay again!

We had a great stay. Plenty of room for everyone and not too far from Mark Twain Lake. Nice porch overlooking the field. Saw deer and a fox while were sipping coffee. Would recommend!

Amazing property. Very accomodating and comfortable. Everything we could have needed was there. The kids loved the pool table and the yard. Wish we could have stayed longer! The perfect VRBO for families.

This was a perfect place to have a Summer Family gathering. The house was wonderfully designed and the host had the place extremely well supplied. There were also very accommodating to any questions or requests. We had very little contact with the host only because they ensured the wasnt a need. Even a game library-room contained games for every age from the youngest child to oldest adults and a variety of likes and skills.Loved the balcony overlooking the large yard area. Great for watching the birds, fireflies, bats, and even deer at one point. Place was close to Hannibal for sight seeing. And the beach at the lake.

Beautiful Family Cabin

Selah Cabin was a perfect place for our large family of twelve. The location is beautiful and so is the cabin. There were plenty of beds to sleep and space to spread out. The kids enjoyed playing pool downstairs and spending time outside. There is a vast grassy area to play or take a walk. Or relax on the upper deck or lower porch. I personally, enjoyed the porch swing in the evenings watching fireflies and listening to frogs. The host is very friendly, responsive, and thoughtful she even set up a crib for our toddler. Cabin was clean and bedding and towels were clean. It felt very welcoming. My family all loved Selah Cabin and wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful home for Christmas

We came to Hannibal looking to celebrate our Mom's life and love for Mark Twain during the Christmas holiday. The house was absolutely PERFECT for us. When we walked in, we were greeted by a large decorated Christmas tree. Everything was well appointed and CLEAN (I'm a germaphobe) and welcomed you as if you were at your own home.The layout of the house is perfect for a large family. There are two bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and another two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a large open area with plenty of seating downstairs. We had 12 people, including five teenagers. The teenagers had plenty of space in the walkout basement to play pool, sit around and play on their phones or play games. The basement doesn't feel (or smell) like a basement with the large windows and glass door.We didn't use the kitchen much, but it seemed to have everything that you would need, and it has a large island that allowed for all of the snacks that we could bring in.Overall, the needs of guests are well thought out throughout the house. The beds are very comfortable and there is ample bedding for everyone. The house is in a beautiful country setting, and the large yard would've been great to play games in, but it was 32 degrees, so we stayed inside most of the day.If we decide to have a family get together in that area again, this will definitely be the place we stay.

Perfect

There were eight of us staying at Selah Cabin. The location in the country was pretty and peaceful. The cabin has a wonderful kitchen, four bedrooms and three bathrooms, perfect for eight females. There was plenty of room for us to enjoy our sister weekend. We enjoyed our outings into Hannibal and Monroe City. We would all recommend Selah Cabin.

Perfect peace and quiet.

We all loved it. Lots of space, beautiful getaway area (we saw deer in the yard). Easy to get to town and see all the places we wanted to see.

Great Secluded Location

We were visiting Hannibal for the weekend and wanted a nice place for our 7 family members. We hit the jackpot with Selah Cabin! It had everything we needed and then some! The basement with 2 bedrooms was perfect for my 2 nieces and their 2 daughters. The younger girls had their own area when they wanted to get away from we obnoxious adults, although we did use the pool table, very nice table!! The deck and patio below were perfect places to hang out and watch for wildlife and the rare passing of a vehicle. The open floor plans upstairs and in the basement make for a warm, comfy place to hang out. Our only suggestion would be to have a journal for guests to leave comments and recommendations for future guests. One of the very best properties we have visited ,will recommend to others going to the area. A short, easy 10 minute drive to Hannibal.

From the property, you would never guess we are less than a half mile from Hwy 24/36. It is so relaxing to sit under the walnut trees playing horse shoes or corn hole, or to sit on the porches watching deer or birds cross the field, or to watch a glorious sunrise from either of the eastern-facing bedrooms.
