Room 8 at the Star Gate Motel is a 2 bedroom with one Queen bed and 2 twin beds and a small sofa that rolls out to a twin bed.

The Space:
Room with 2 bedrooms, first room has a Queen bed and a sofa that rolls out to a twin bed, the second bedroom has 2 twin size beds. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. Newly remodeled rooms. The floors in the bathroom and bedrooms are Vinyl Floor Planking, light gray walls and art on the walls.

The Neighborhood:
The Star Gate Motel is located on 16 acres on the South side of Indian River towards Wolverine. It has a large parking lot, perfect for ATV/Snowmobile trailers and boats. It has direct access to the Snowmobile and ATV trails and is very close to a bike lane that leads to the North Central Bike Trail. It is within walking distance from Cross in the Woods and less than a mile from Burt Lake State Park.

Super cute little place. Very basic and small room, but very comfortable and has everything you need! We were close to plenty of places for food, and it was a perfect stop to make our drive easier the next morning. Would definitely stay again.

We were impressed with the room layout for a motel. Could use an update but it was clean and stocked generously with hygiene essentials. Very close to where we wanted to visit, Cross In The Woods.

Clean but not very private

The space was clean and had a nicely updated design. I liked the fact that there were 2 rooms for sleeping. However the main room was not a great sleeping space. The bed is right next to the window in which vehicles are parked about 5 feet from the door. People were noisy walking by, talking, and making noise while coming and going with room & car doors opening and shutting. Some sort of sound insulation would be helpful. In addition, the curtains did not fully cover the window. Even 1 more panel of curtain would have at least covered the gaps between curtains. This meant we did not feel comfortable changeing in the bedroom space and instead changed in the bathroom. It would have been very easy for someone walking by the window to peer into the room. This also made it uncomfortable while laying in bed with the bedside light in direct view of the gap in the curtains. We only stayed 1 night as we were passing through. And that is probably all I would want to stay. It worked for us this time. I appreciated the welcome letter that included information about the wifi as well as food recommendations.
