Beautiful location, easy to find our way around. The geese, ducks, and occasional chicken were so fun to watch! We very much enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable to come back to after a day at the track. If we are ever back in the Austin area, we’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

What a great find! Beautiful location with so many pluses! The house is warm and inviting. It is close enough to town that it is convenient but nestled away in nature so that the hustle bustle of the many fast growing communities around it seems faraway.. After accessing the property via security gate, you drive up to the house. Its front porch rockers beckon you to come and relax.The house is nicely furnished /decorated. The back patio has a fenced yard with table/chairs and a great BBQ grill. Kitchen and bath areas are all well-stocked with large assortment of serviceware/utensils/appliances...(love the deep sink and island). The beds were beyond comfortable...they were awesome...(so comfortable that we overslept this morning!!! ) We did not use the washer/dryer but it was nice to know we had them if needed. The carport entry has a propane fueled fireplt table which we never got to use but hope to next trip! Out by the serene pond under the tree is a Cowboy grill with lump charcoal for grilling as well as a picnic table for sitting and relaxing...you can feed the various geese/peacocks with food provided. We were just there for the weekend but plan to return. It was so peaceful. One thing some folks might take for granted but I certainly don't is host communication...our host provided clear, concise information/instructions and always responded to any of my questions in a very timely manner. You can't ask for much more than that! KUDOS to our hosts!

Amazing property!!

We had an amazing time. Much needed getaway and relaxing time. The kids had a blast exploring and fishing. We have our next trip back planned already!!

Country with convenience

We had a great time relaxing in the country. We played , fished, relaxed, and were close enough to town to go out to eat each night. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful inviting home with all the amenities

Perfect getaway for our family! Close enough to lots of attractions but far enough away from the hustle and bustle! My entire family is begging to return soon. Definitely one of our top favorite getaway spots!

Perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful time! Pictures don’t do it justice. Enjoyed watching the geese, fishing in the creek, sitting on the porch and exploring Lockhart. It’s a neat town with amazing BBQ!

Lockhart

The property was great, had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the geese and peacocks. My son and grandson had fun fishing and walking the property. It had a fenced in yard, which was great for my dog. It was nice and secluded but also close to town. It was good to get out of the city, we had a great time.

Perfect Weekend

I looked all over for a place to stay that allowed medium size dogs, and took a chance with reserving Terri and Dana's place in Lockhart, TX. I made a great choice as this was the most relaxing stay I have experienced in a long time! My family felt at home from the time we walked through the door. I will definitely stay there again.

Fun times in Lockhart

We had a great time on our vacation. I especially enjoyed the stocked fishing pond! It was HOT, but tubing on the San Marcos River really cooled us off. I would definately return to this spot in the future, but in a cooler month.

August has always been dreadfully hot in central Texas. The cool spring fed creek water or the San Marcos River are a must in the heat of the summer. Hope to be seeing you again soon!

Great relaxing weekend getaway

Brought our two young boys (4 and 6) for a weekend away from the city, and had such a wonderful time. Boys played in the river, fished in the pond, chased frogs while my husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Loved the farm fresh eggs and local blacks barbeque was fantastic!

Texas visit

My wife and I stayed a week while visiting her daughter. The home was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, king bed very comfortable. Dana and Terri were very pleasant and helpful. We would recommend their home highly and definitely repeat if we are ever in the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful house in a perfect location: in the country yet 5 minutes from town! The owners were awesome when we had a problem! We did miss the peacocks this year!

Thanksgiving Blessings

We had such a relaxing time at this beautiful property that was close and convenient to visit family. We sat on the different porches in the morning and enjoyed our coffee. The kitchen had everything I needed to make my Thanksgiving dishes. Everything was perfect!

Total Eclipse home base

We selected this property to have an escape from the crowd’s flocking to view the eclipse. The guest house was the perfect size for us and our golden retriever, and even room for our two relatives to stop by in their RV. Our dog enjoyed exploring the large yard. Very comfortable and a great getaway.

Great family stay!!!

We were in town for a LL baseball tournament and our family is too big for a hotel. We have 3 boys and a dog. The little yard was great for our dog and morning coffee and the boys were fishing the entire time, unless we were playing basball. It had everything we needed and plenty of space to roam. I can't say enough positives about this place. All the boys on the team were alittle jealous lol.

Peaceful setting

Lovely place with privacy. We enjoyed the quiet country setting with all the waterfowl, peacocks, and deer. It was convenient to San Marcos. During our stay we visited San Antonio, San Marcos, and Wimberley; all were within an hour or less. We spent mornings on the porch drinking coffee and enjoying the peacock parade and occasional deer.

Lockhart visit

This was a perfect location for our trip to visit family in Lockhart. The property is charming and the house was clean and comfortable. The master bed was a little too soft for me, but that’s only a personal opinion. It’s a beautiful setting, and all the arrival and departure procedures were very easy. The only drawback was that we were barely there!

The guest house was truly a retreat for us. The information about the house was accurate, excellent

Our hosts, Dana and Terri were welcoming and very helpful. The home is a wonderful place to learn about the area. There are DVD's of movies filmed in the Lockhart area that we thoroughly enjoyed. The home is very well maintained with every amenity a guest could expect as shown on the listing. We enjoyed the Lockhart area and were able to visit San Marcos and San Antonio. We booked it once again for December, January and added February for next year. 5 star rating for us!
