Quite literally the top o' the mountain, with an amazing view of the dam. After being here an hour I was already feeling the stress of the dark upon dark drive up the mountain melt away, and I found myself singing, to the tune of the fiddler on the roof song, "If I was a Trash Can!" Which I frankly never found. The salient point was I was singing. Which I don't do. Stress elimination worked.

As stated, the views are amazing. It's very peaceful to sit out on the deck, listening to the birds chirp as the sun comes up in the morning. I will say that the road is not as bad as stated by others, we were able to drive up in our Honda Accord. Just take it slow and watch out for the bigger holes. The only issue we had was finding the skyline trail behind the house. We definitely would stay again.

Mid October weekend

The cabin was larger than I expected with all the amenities you would want. We only stayed for a couple of days but never got bored and slept well.

My family enjoyed our getaway staying in the Mountain View Cabin. Everything was clean and as described. Checking in/out was easy. The view was beautiful and the cabin provided ample seating to enjoy all the views. There are only neighbors on one side which provided a lot of privacy. The road leading back to the cabin can be an adventure but as long as you don’t meet anyone coming the opposite direction you should be okay. We meet several vehicles and only 1 was driving like an idiot. Getting into the driveway was not a problem but maneuvering in the driveway took some getting used to. The cabins location worked out well being close to pretty much everything. The national forest is right off the back porch so that allows you to be able to go directly into your hike or just do some exploring. Overall the cabin was really nice and we would go back.

Outstanding Home witj Excellent Views

Everything was as advertised. Upon our arrival, there was welcoming music playing and the home could not have been cleaner. We had a great time and we will be visiting again.

Great stay!

This was an awesome place! Please make sure you have some good tires as the drive up to the cabin can be a bit tricky with the ton of rock and gravel, some potholes, etc. There's also many cobwebs- which makes sense, you're at a cabin after all- but just keep that in mind! They don't really clean the cobwebs outside in the hangout areas but the inside is great!

This was a great choice

My wife and I had a wonderful week long stay, where we woke up to amazing sunrises, sunsets, and every minute we looked out the window. We were impressed with the cabin's cleanliness, furnishings and finishes. We did not want for anything, even in the kitchen. The cabin is conveniently located within 15 minutes (includes drive down the mountain) of restaurants, shopping, and hiking trails.

The view was amazing! Secluded is what we wanted and we got that. It is an adventure getting up and down mountain, so you do have to plan ahead when going out. We decided not to be back past dark, but our preference. It was a trade off for the view and quiet cabin like feel. You do need a 4x4 to get up to the cabin. One lane at times, gravel and some paved, sharp curves. We got caught in a thunderstorm and it was tricky. The cabin was clean and inviting. We had what we needed to get started. Plenty to do if you choose. This was not our first time, so we did not souvenir shop, but plenty of shops!Train ride to see the deer and the conductor so funny! Friend's Trail was about 3 miles and great river views! Just be prepared for steep climbs. Walking sticks and good shoes a must. Paddle boats only available on the weekend, so keep that in mind. The spa was nice after the hike and a cold beer at the local brewery! We are already planning our next trip! The environment is still cozy, but definitely new places in the last few years!

Amazing Views!

We stayed at this great cabin recently and it was awesome! The view off the front porch is probably one of the best around. The cabin has lots of nice touches-extra throw blankets, arcade games upstairs and other games and dozens of board games. The kitchen is spacious and the cabin over all is very nicely decorated. It's very close to all activities as well. You definitely need 4-wheel drive to climb the road to the cabin at certain points, but my husband being a mountain biker loved it! There are a lot of rental cabins on the road to this one and they all look very nice, but none of them seem to have the views this one does and we think it was smart for them to clear cut the land in front of the deck for sure. You will not be disappointment staying here and will love it as much as we did!
