What a beautiful & spacious property!! This stay was for our annual family vacation. As previous reviews state, this is such a cool & unique cabin (& huge!). The lake view is absolutely gorgeous. We didn’t get a boat this year, but we definitely plan to next year, as this cabin is worth another visit.

Unique (in a good way!) house in a private setting on a beautiful lake. Lots of space, big kitchen and outdoor areas, and very comfortable. Owner and caretakers were great to work with throughout. Highly recommend this property for a large group.

14 members of 1 family from grand parents to 7 grandkids. Good combinations of sleeping for everyone. Unique interior layout. You must be able to climb steps! Great kitchen and eating arrangement. Outdoor deck eating was very nice. I would say bathrooms were dated, lighting was not good, and the master shower was not adequate based on size, step up and shower head. Very nice clear lake with a nice swimming area and plenty of water toys. Grounds were nicely cared for and staff was available at the snap of a finger.

We designed the estate to comfortably accommodate large family traditions, which is why the home features seven distinct bathrooms tailored to different needs. This includes our grand dual-head giant walk in shower designed for maximum space, as well as our more intimate 36-inch classic showers. The 'dated' look you noted is actually a deeply intentional design choice. Redstone was built to capture the architectural soul and rugged luxury of the historic Northwoods industrial tycoon era. Our bathrooms are curated to reflect that heritage—such as the suite you mentioned, which pairs a classic shower with a timeless, premium Kohler Birthday clawfoot tub featuring solid brass fittings. We recognize that the massive, cavernous scale of a authentic log lodge can take a day or two to get used to—especially when navigating our unique lighting layouts on a cloudy afternoon! We truly appreciate your feedback and are so glad our team could take such great care of you. We would love to welcome your family back to the lake in the future!"

This property was amazing for our family of 18, ranging in age from 2 months to 66 years. There was plenty of room to spread out while still having ample space to gather together.The shoreline is shallow enough for little ones, and the splash pad was a blast for all ages. The paddleboards and kayaks were a great way to explore the lake.There was more than enough refrigerator and freezer space, and the kitchen was spacious and well-equipped for cooking. We also appreciated the ample dining space for our entire group.We loved not having a TV in the main living area. Lots of time for books, games and puzzles. The gazebo was a hit with the kids. The host was great to work with and quick to respond. This place does not disappoint!

We spent Christmas week with family at Redstone. The property was AMAZING! Had everything we needed for the week. So unique - discovered something new each day. Our host Lynne was great, quickly responsive with any questions. Hoping to return again in the future!

Beautiful cabin with wonderful amenities and tons of charm! Communication with the property manager was excellent, and check-in/out was a breeze. The location is a bit off the beaten path, and the unique layout takes some flexibility with sleeping arrangements, but overall we had a fantastic stay. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Annual family reunion

Redstone is truly a remarkable property which we greatly enjoyed. It is one of a kind property that reflects the builders rather whimsical tastes. Big Portage is a very clean and clean lake that was a pleasure to fish. My family truly had a great time there.

Absolutely incredible!! Everyone could easily find something to do there and in the local small towns. Great state parks nearby. Places to be alone in the house and toys n games and still get a great view! The Hosts were a great friendly and gracias support.

We enjoyed our time at Redstone, the Host was great, responded very quickly to any questions or needs. The property and facilities are breathtaking.Big Portage Lake is a beautiful lake with crystal clear water.Close to hiking, ATV / UTV, biking trail and several waterfalls in the UP within an hour.Highly recommend this property, especially for larger groups.We are already planning our next stay at Redstone.

Truly unique and impressive property, with a lot of functional spaces to spread out for relaxing and working (if you absolutely must). Clean lake that is great for swimming. The house was well stocked. We would definitely recommend Redstone.

Blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at such a beautiful place! Redstone is a one of a kind! So much to see! So much to take in! Amenities were great, beds were comfortable! The lake was beautiful, especially the view from the living room window! Our needs were met, plus more! Grandma’s 75th birthday at Redstone

Our Family had a wonderful week at the Redstone property. It was comfortable and more than accommodated our group of 14. This is a high end custom home that truly lives like mountain lodge. The lake was fantastic for both water sports and fishing. We fished in the mornings/evenings and skied/tubed during the day. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful with all our questions/needs. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay here again! Thank you Lynn & Gary!

If you need space for alot of guests, this property is ideal. Not only inside, but beautiful grounds, garage, well equipped fire pits, boathouse with many toys, large dock for boats/pontoon.Clear water for swimming, and easy walk from house to beautiful Big Portage lake.My favorite place was the catwalk to a private space over looking the lake. So peaceful.The home is a work of art. Many of the owners personal treasures you'll most likely will never see again. There's a boardroom, ice cream room, bar room, huge beautiful living room and Professional Kitchen!,besides 7 bedrooms. A focal point is The Gazebo for Wine Time! Just beautiful. Your property managers Lynne & Gary are professionals and it shows as they walk you through the property.We will return for Sled Races and already booked for 2026 Fall. Thank you

The property and house are more charming than the pictures- we’ve stayed at lot of rental properties and this has been the best.The quality of the furnishing and linens are top notch (new outdoor patio furniture not pictured). kitchen well stocked. Lots of dishes, cups etc. but also lots of pots and pans for any thing you’d need. The home is like an adult treehouse- split over multiple levels with all rooms but the bedrooms open. This was great to have separate spaces for activities, while still feeling connected. Grandparents read books on the couch in the main family room while teens played games in the “board room” on the upper level at night. We vacation with my parents & 2 of my brothers and their families, with kids ages 1yr to college. Enough seating for everyone in the kitchen, and enough places to sit and hang out all week. Plenty of bathrooms. Never felt like we were on top of each other. mother in law suite with it’s own bath that is on the other side of the house- my brother with young kids slept there since their kids went to bed early and got up early- nice to have that separate space. Beds very comfortable and each bedroom has separate A/C temp control. boat launch is very convenient -we pulled the boats and went to different lakes for fishing. Water was warm and crystal clear. Kids had fun catching frogs and turtles.Property manager on site great with communication, very kind. Emptied trash a few times during week.

This place was excellent for our family of 16, ranging in age from 6 to 75! There was something for everyone. The kids loved having so many places to relax, play, and even hide from each other. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and we especially appreciated that each room had its own temperature control.The younger kids spent hours exploring the shoreline and searching for rocks, while the older kids enjoyed fishing and tubing on the lake. It was a wonderful week filled with special family memories, and this beautiful house helped make those memories even more meaningful. We would highly recommend it!
