Close to the Beach

My family had a wonderful week at this private beach oceanfront home! The ability to see the kids directly on the beach from both decks was priceless! How close we were to the ocean was also amazing! The layout and elevator were perfect. Overall, the house just needs a little TLC with the carpets being a little worn and some other minor repairs needed. We would stay here again.

Fantastic House, Would recommend

My family and I had a great stay here. Close proximity to surf city restaurants yet far enough away from a lot of the public beach access points. House was clean and we even got a text around noon that the house was ready and early check in was available for free which was awesome! The kitchen was adequately equipped with everything that we needed, towels were plentiful, and the elevator was great when unpacking/repacking our vehicle. I would absolutely stay here again.

Family Gathering

WOW!!! We just completed another fabulous family vacation week at Shore is Something in North Topsail Beach. Although we have stayed here several times over the years, it never fails to impress us on each visit. The new living room chairs, new sets of daily dishes, new dishwasher, new colorful comforters on the beds, and a new vibrant sunrise each morning helps you start the day. The huge dining room table was great for family dinners and game night, and the elevator solved any stair climbing issues for some senior members of the group. We are anxiously looking forward to next year’s family gathering at “Shore is Something”

Great house; wonderful location

This house is great! Plenty of bedrooms and baths. The top floor would be especially good for a family with young children--there's a play space as well as 2 bedrooms. The elevator is helpful for getting luggage and supplies to the appropriate floor. The kitchen is well-stocked and there's a big table for a large group. 2 levels of decks provide a lot of outside space.

Beautiful Ocean Views

Our family stayed there in May and we absolutely loved this house. The house was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was amazing. I loved how organized everything in the kitchen was and the cookware was some of the best that I had ever used. I told my children that I wanted some just like them for Christmas this year. We loved the easy access to the beach and the ocean views from either deck were amazing. My Mother who has mobility issues loved the elevator it made it so much easier for her. The owners thought of every detail in this house to make our stay as wonderful as possible, they even had baby gates for us to use for our 2 little ones. I definitely would recommend this property not only does it have beautiful views but it was very clean and comfortable l. We had a wonderful time and hopefully we will be able to stay here again next year.

So nice to have elevator!

Nice house, clean, nicely decorated, fully equipped kitchen, good layout, comfortable beds, good water pressure in shower. Some minor repairs needed... Loose railings, show drains. Would be helpful to have some blankets... Only found one in the whole house. (Master bedroom didn't have a bedspread, so needed the blanket) The two small bedrooms could use a small dresser or table.

Shore is Something or Heavens Edge

Our stay was enjoyable. The house had a wonderful layout and great access to the ocean. The surfing school added entertainment and life to the beach. However, the house needed several repairs. As you know, the third-floor air conditioner did not work, and two temporary units were in place. They worked well. The carpet had some sand, but that's probably unavoidable with beach carpet. There were small dents in the wall and some split molding. Overall, the unit just needs some TLC. The only dangerous issue was the loose spindles on the second-floor deck railing. One spindle was actually missing, creating a risk for small children. Fortunately, our youngest grandchild was old enough to avoid this risk. The elevator was a big hit and very helpful for moving in and out of the unit. The linen people had left a very large bag of dirty linens from the previous visit and the television had a bag of candy hanging on the screen. Most of the games and puzzles in the unit had missing pieces, and the plastic card deck only had 50 cards. Despite these issues, the layout of the house was great. The upstairs suite was very complete, and the three bedrooms on the second floor had great ocean views. Lastly, the key in the lockbox did not seem to fit any lock in the house. Still, we used the combination.
