Our overall impression. Gather was all about take your money and run. They were more than happy to send out emails when payments were due, but failed to reply to emails, text messages, and voice mails once we arrived. Here is an abbreviated list of the issues we asked to have addressed when we arrived.1) wifi login and password were incorrect.2) Water in master bath3) The door to the second bedroom doesn't close. 4) We had issues with Spectrum cable and the remote controls. We ended up using a laptop to stream programs.5) The dryer - it took over 2 hours to dry a few towels - which we had to do daily.6) The control knobs on the stove are missing the labeling. We had to guess which knob when with which burner. This is a safety issue and should be addressed immediately. We have stayed at VRBO properties across the country and this is one of the few that didn't have a "Welcome / Imformation Book". A simple guide to the property that would assist the guest with some basic information, like the wifi login, guide to the use of the TV, warning about the monthy emergency sirens, local restaurants and activies, etc.

We absolutely loved our stay. The condo has every amenity, super clean and has a great view of pool and lawn area. More than enough space for our family of 4. We look forward to staying here again.

Trip of a Lifetime

Wonderful stay. The room and the property had everything we needed and more! The room was the most stocked room I’ve ever stayed in. The location was great. We would definitely stay here again. Had a little trouble with door code when we arrived but property management group was quick to respond and resolve. We had lots of activities planned to explore island and this was a great home base! Hope we get the opportunity to visit again! Mahalo!

We had a great stay!

This was a great rental! The space was very clean and well stocked. We had everything that we needed. Beautiful and easy location. We did not have any problems that needed to be addressed, but management was very responsive in general. Highly recommend!

Great stay!

We just had a great 7 day stay. There were 4 adults and the condo was perfect for us. Had a fully stocked kitchen to do cooking, beach gear, and great shower pressure in the bathrooms. The property had everything you need! Would definitely stay there again. Communication with the property managers was great. They responded asap if we had any questions.

Can’t wait to come back!

What a beautiful unit stocked with everything you need to enjoy a beach or pool day in Maui! From coffee and chocolates to high end shampoo and body wash no detail was overlooked. The property is amazing and you can’t beat the location with a shopping center right across the street. We enjoyed playing pickle ball on the court and card games on the balcony in the evening. We forgot a pair of earrings and the host was very helpful to ensure they would be mailed back to us. Wonderful family vacation. Aloha!

Bright and Comfortable

The pools and proximity to the ocean was perfect. Good little places to eat and get snacks across the street and down the road were nice. The bbq’s from the room were a bit far but was alright. Nice family friendly hotel, but plenty of space to break away and relax as well. We’ll be back.

It's Maui, It's Amazing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check-in information was delivered a week in advance and was very helpful. The condo is very spacious, updated, and relatively private. The location is perfect. Resort is paradise. Food trucks are right next to the parking lot out front.Only negatives: we did have a plumbing issue when we first walked in, but a plumber was able to replace the part that same night. Wasn't a big deal, stuff happens. Also, there is a gym on-site but it's run by a third-party company and it's not cheap.Highly recommend. Great spot.

Great stay

We had a great time staying at Kaanapali Shores. We were a family of 5 and appreciated the well equipped condo. The updates were nice with one complaint. The updated shower in the ensuite leaks water all over the floor. We did contact the property manager and they sent maintenance over to replace the seal on the shower door, which was appreciated. The problem is there is a gap in two spots on the shower door (one in the middle and one where the door meets the wall) and it leaks water all over the floor. We did find this to be extremely frustrating and we were constantly using shower towels to mop up the water, therefore needing to wash shower towels all the time. Other than this, our stay was fabulous. The resort was well laid out and there were always chairs available by the pool. We will gladly return to Kaanapali Shores in the future.

Great location but just needed more attention

Loved the place but on our day that we woke up from the first night, we had no hot water as the water heater broke. A plumber came out and shut off the main for the hot water and we had no hot water and what made matters worse, the shower knob is broken and you can’t adjust the temp and it is stuck on hot so no water comes out. Yup, 4 days with no shower and no hot water. Couldn’t do laundry because the wash wouldn’t start with no water coming in. We’re about to check out and still no hot water and haven’t heard anything so the communication was really bad. Now the location is great, 1 block from the beach and shops, it’s amazing! Place was somewhat clean, could have used some attention.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is nice and the room appeared to be nicely updated until we tried using anything. The shower head in the spare bathroom was coming out of the wall, the dishwasher didn't work correctly, the dryer took forever to dry, the shower door in the master is installed wrong so it sprays water all over the floor, and they didn't clean very well prior to arrival. We found receipts from months ago in one room and a pair or dirty shorts and underwear in another. The worst was that the bed frame in the master broke. I texted the contact person, got no response, had to sleep on the floor for two nights, and then was billed $2000 without notice. Despite explaining the situation, they claimed without proof of prior damage, which I don't know how I would have been able to provide, I have to pay for the new bed.

Everything you want it to be!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location location location! Beautiful Sandy Beach right there at the resort. Perfect for coffee in the morning and cocktails with an amazing sunset in the evening. The condo provides Tommy Bahama beach chairs and soft coolers. The deck overlooks a large swimming pool where you can hear live music Wednesday evenings and watch the torch lighting ceremony on Thursdays. There is a restaurant On the property however I really don’t suggest it. Appetizers and drinks were OK but for entrées I would go somewhere else. There are two markets within walking distance so you can stock up. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook at the condo. The room is extremely quiet, you don’t hear neighbors at all. Nicely remodeled with great taste and quality products. Everything was new , clean and comfortable. I didn’t check but the beds felt like memory foam.We brought our own beach umbrella and snorkel sets. You can rent both on site but it’s very expensive. You can snorkel right off the beach at the condo and see some pretty cool things. Lots of people had boogie boards so if you’re into that you might wanna bring your own. We highly recommend this condo and if we ever go back to Maui, we will be staying here again.

Perfect Maui Getaway- great location, well equipped unit, beautiful property!

The unit is very much as advertised. Spacious unit, well maintained and clean upon arrival. It was equipped with more than expected (all the kitchen necessities, beach/pool toys, beach chairs, cooler, umbrellas, etc!!). The grounds were very beautiful and well kept. The complex has 2 pools, one ocean front and one in the garden which is very kid friendly. Visually very pretty to walk around. The location was also perfect for us. There's a grocery store right across the street, ABC 2 minutes away, some late night eat spots all walking distance. You're also a 3-5 minute walk to the boardwalk which was lovely to walk along and check out all the other hotels and beachside restaurants (Duke's is 600 m away). No complaints here! Was a great stay. :)

Wonderful experience!

The property is in a great location with a lovely beach and even lovelier sunsets. Our unit was clean and we loved the decor. It was perfect for 4 adults and the beach supplies provided met all our needs. The check-in process was easy and the owners were very friendly and responsive to questions. Our location was convenient to markets and restaurants. We would definitely book here again.

Beautiful condo

The check-in process was easy, with a quick response once we arrived at the resort. The condo was clean, well stocked and beautiful! Any concerns or questions were responded to immediately. We had a great time and would definitely rent this condo again!
