Located in beautiful Carolina Beach, this gorgeous oceanfront property, recently updated in 2025, features a heated saltwater pool that lights up at night, private beach access with shower, and large backyard that are exclusive to the two units of the duplex and shared by the guests of both units.

Permanent Waves has 5 bedrooms with 4 1/2 baths, water views from nearly every room that can accommodate 14 guests comfortably and in style. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the table and 2 bars provide seating for up to 14 with additional seating for 4 on the oceanfront porch. Wireless internet is available throughout the unit. Each bedroom and the main living room enjoy Smart TV's with premium cable packages. A Blu-ray DVD player, DVD's, books, games and puzzles for all ages are at your fingertips.

Bedroom 1 is on the 3rd floor and features a king bed, vaulted ceiling, large bathroom with jetted tub and tiled shower, desk for work/study, and large oceanfront balcony with porch swing. Bedroom 2 is located on the 3rd floor and has a king bed, large bathroom, and beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Bedroom 3 is located oceanfront on the 1st floor with a queen bed, full bath and seating available on the oceanside porch. Bedroom 4 is located on the 1st floor Waterway side and has a queen over queen set of bunk beds. It shares a full bath with Bedroom 5, which has a twin over twin set of bunks and a twin trundle.

Exclusive to this unit are a private, outdoor hot & cold shower, propane gas grill, multiple boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, a beach cart, sand toys and pool floats.

During your stay you will receive a welcome bag with paper towels, napkins, laundry pods, dryer sheets, dishwasher pods and other goodies to make your stay more enjoyable.

The owners use this property throughout the year so it is upscale with all the comforts of home. In an effort to keep our home in top shape for all of our guests we require a 3 day minimum stay in the off-season and a Sunday to Sunday 7-day stay in the summer.

Permanent Waves, Unit 2, is perfect for families getting together for a reunion. For larger family reunions and multiple families vacationing together, the entire house, Waves and Sun, (VRBO #4253263) is available for rent. Waves and Sun, can accommodate 25-28 guests.

This property was absolutely lovely and one of the nicest we've stayed in. We've stayed in many VRBO properties and you just never know what you're going to get. This home was very clean and had everything you could need, even down to leaving condiments in the refrigerator (you know, the ones you always seem to forget during your grocery run). We were welcomed with a nice basket and plenty of supplies for our stay, which again, is very rare. While the house may not be the most modern, up-to-date property, it is decorated very tastefully and everything is in great condition, as is the pool. We didn't have any issues with appliances, ac units, or anything during our stay, which again seems to be rare in our experience (maybe we are just unlucky - lol!). The home was set up perfectly for our 3 young kids -- with books, games, beach toys, beach towels and chairs -- literally everything you need. It was so nice not to have to drag these items with us from 13 hours away. The only minor complaint I could come up with would be that the carpets could use a good cleaning.There was not a huge beach area due to storms/erosion, but it was still the perfect area for the kids to play and build sand castles, and it was extremely private (although we were here in October/off-season so I'm not sure what it is like during the busy season). We hope to be back soon to hunt for some more ghost crabs with the kids :).

This is a beautiful house with amazing views . It has all the comforts of home. The owners are very gracious with the provisions and it is immaculate! The elevator is a much appreciated feature and parking was not really a problem for us. We had 3 large SUVs and 1 large Truck. We 100% recommend!

Beautifully decorated house with everything you could possibly need! We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and private beach access. Plenty of sand toys, beach chairs, and beach towels provided. All the bedrooms and baths were comfortable and well-appointed. The living room, kitchen, and dining room were perfect for our group of 8 including one toddler. The host went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely recommend this beautiful home.

Beautifully decorated house with everything we needed thoughtfully provided. Plenty of towels, beach chairs, toys and more. The pool was enjoyed by all. Amazing Beach House and Stay

All the family came in for a 4 day beach stay / birthday party. The beach house is completely updated and well equipped for all ages. Plenty of space inside and out heated pool and elevator big plus. In the spaces below the house is a new grill, beach chairs, beach toys, pool toys etc. Highly recommended for large families!!

The perfect vacation

This home and its location offered everything we needed and more. Clean, well maintained, well stocked with all cookware, etc. the pool is heated! The decor and bedding, etc is all quality. The beautiful beach is steps away, the property hosts were so kind and organized. It was hard to leave this beautiful home.

Wonderful NC Experience!

This place truly had it all. We had 10 families staying in this unit and the other one which all shared the pool. It was the absolute perfect set up! We created so many wonderful memories there with our family. So much pool time! The access to the beach was incredible and we seriously lucked out getting to see dolphins out in front daily. With so many families, we appreciated having all of the spaces to hang out. A huge plus was having an elevator available for when our relative who is in a wheelchair came to visit. He was able to go in the house anywhere and out at the pool anywhere thanks for wonderful flooring and smooth concrete. The amount of dishes, pool/beach toys etc you don’t need to bring anything. The communication was wonderful, early check in became possible and they let us know which was great. The owners for both places communicated making sure we had everything we needed and were available to us if we needed. Highly recommended!
