Explore exhibits that showcase memorabilia, instruments, and historical artifacts from local music legends like Billy Joel, Lou Reed, and Debbie Gibson.

The Carriage Museum at The Long Island Museum
The Carriage Museum houses one of the most extensive collections of horse-drawn vehicles in the U.S. This museum gives you a glimpse into transportation and life in the 19th century.

Over 200 carriages and horse-drawn vehicles are displayed, from elegant coaches to everyday wagons, each with its own story. It’s fascinating to see how transportation evolved and learn about the role carriages played in everyday life.
The museum also includes interactive exhibits, allowing visitors to experience what riding in these carriages might have been like. Many of the vehicles on display have been beautifully restored, showing incredible craftsmanship and detail. In addition to the carriages, the museum offers exhibits on the people who made, used, and maintained these vehicles, shedding light on 19th-century craftsmanship and transportation.

The restaurant’s decor maintains the home’s historic charm, with old fireplaces, original wood beams, and vintage furnishings, making it a truly immersive experience.
Haunted Legends: One of the most intriguing aspects of The Country House is its ghostly reputation. Guests and staff have reported sightings and strange occurrences, adding a bit of mystery to your meal. Whether you’re a believer or not, it’s a fun story that adds to the experience.
The restaurant goes all out for holidays, especially during the fall and Christmas seasons, with beautiful decorations that create a warm, festive atmosphere.
