For a very relaxing vacation in a beautiful, peaceful location, stay here, you won't be disappointed. You can walk the property, sit on the porch and enjoy the view and wildlife or hike at nearby Hanging Rock SP or Pilot Mountain SP. It is as advertised!

The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, as was the rest of the home. It was lovely. The layout was great. There were blankets for the dogs to keep them from getting hair on the furniture, and there were dog food and water bowls. The jute rugs and all the furniture was functional and comfortable. There were two sitting rooms, one with a TV. There were games and puzzles. It was just so charming. We had the best time. The pictures don't do the home justice. You can see and feel how well loved it is. The rocking chairs and fire pit were a big bonus. We will be back. It was VERY hard to leave.

Relaxing weekend getaway

We had a wonderful weekend at this property! The house was cozy and very clean. The owners provided everything you could possibly need! Our dogs loved running around all the open space. We will definitely book another weekend here in the future!

We had a wonderful time this weekend staying in this quaint farmhouse. The house was very clean and welcoming. Bryan was very helpful with information about the surrounding areas and made checking in a breeze. We will definitely be back.

Nature retreat

The farmhouse was incredibly clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need (dishes and utensils). You can tell the owners put a lot of care into maintaining the house. The front porch has a great view of the mountain and if you are into bird watching there were chats, cuckoos, buntings, wood thrush and other great birds you could easily see and hear. At dusk the fireflies put on an amazing show, have never seen so many in one spot. Walking around the property there were wildflowers like milkweed, mountain mint. This place is definitely a hidden gem being so close to hanging rock and pilot mountain and being secluded with all the nature on the property. We will definitely book again.

Soul sister retreat

We absolutely love this place! We had the solitude that we were looking for
 And the cutest farmhouse you have ever seen! We were taking pictures of the furniture and decor as inspiration for our own homes! This place is incredibly clean, very well organized, and has everything you need, but not cluttered! The hosts are amazing
 they gave you all the information you need and more, clear communication and we knew support was there if we needed it
 Which we did not as everything again was so well prepared. Highly recommend!

A Wonderful Peaceful Experience

We had a wonderful time. The house had everything we needed (and no scratched-up Teflon pans). The renovations to the old house were really nice- just like on HGTV. The old horse barn and old family cemetery were very interesting. We were close to hiking trails, waterfalls, an art museum, and a couple of really good ice cream shops and restaurants. We want to come back next year.

Zen Get-Away

The property was utterly amazing; beyond what we could have expected. The hosts have taken a lot of time, care and effort to update this wonderful farmhouse with modern amenities while paying homage to the roots of the home and property. A perfect get-away with the solitude of nature, and the backdrop of the mountains. The hosts were attentive in their communication and made us feel very welcome. Such a delight to visit; a home away from home. We enjoyed the weekend immensely, and grateful that we discovered this gem.

Peaceful Retreat

Great place for kids to play outside and also dogs. We didn’t have to worry about traffic or neighbors. It was wonderful!!

Great property. great owner!

This is a very comfortable property. The views are spectacular, both daytime and nighttime. All the open space is so nice and not having to worry about traffic sounds and loud neighbors is an uncommon luxury, especially at such an affordable rate. The host is awesome and helpful and the communication, is great! We would stay there again if we visited the area again.

Quiet Farmhouse

We enjoyed the Vaden Family farmhouse very much. It was the perfect peaceful getaway. The house was beautifully restored and cared for, with touches of the past like the stairs that look original to the old homestead, and newer fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen. We especially enjoyed the cozy feel, the old black and white family photos, and the artwork of the homestead property itself. It was very spacious and serene. We enjoyed watching TV and playing trivia by the gas log fireplace, time spent on the front porch, and walking the beautiful property perched high enough to get some great views of Hanging Rock. The owners did a great job providing us with very detailed information about local places to eat and hike. We used their grill one night and enjoyed a local eatery in King another night. We hope to return in the summer or fall to see what the views look like when things have a little more foliage and color.

The best weekend getaway in the country!! Great for the doggos :)

We had the best time last weekend at the farm! The process of renting this home was so easy and we had great communication from the hosts. They gave us early check in and late check out, the house was very clean and the entry was simple! We had 3 guests Friday night and each had our own room and bathroom. Saturday night we had 5 guests and 2 dogs and we all fit very comfortably. Great kitchen, laundry, lots of games and books, comfortable beds. And 5 minutes from Hanging Rock State park where we hiked with the dogs. The VRBO property spans back for miles behind the house where we walked off leash with the dogs each day. I will definitely be back and have already recommended to my friends and coworkers!

Fantastic Farm

We had a great time at the farm house and Hanging Rock State Park. The house was clean and free of clutter. The kitchen was excellent and the foodies in our group appreciated the high quality kitchenware and small things like having plenty of kitchen towels. The house contains nice spaces / rooms for everyone to spread out and relax. The dogs enjoyed walking the nice trails on the property. Would definitely stay again.

A Peaceful Adventure

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet, beautiful getaway, or you want adventures in nature, you cannot lose by choosing this beautiful restored farmhouse and its grounds. It’s hard to narrow down to a few sentences how much we enjoyed our stay. It is the totality of all of the amenities, the views, the privacy of the well-kept grounds, the history and nostalgia, the well appointed, beautiful CLEAN, organized farm home, the proximity of fun things and beautiful adventures that made our vacation so special. If you choose to cook in, you will enjoy the beautiful kitchen and dining space. We will definitely be back. The hosts are very communicative and responsive if needed. I just can’t list all of the things that make this property so wonderful.

Hanging Rock Gem

Exceptional stay, exceptional property, exceptional hosts. Our stay was for a long weekend with family from out of state. Super clean and comfortable. Everything you need is there. Close to Hanging Rock State Park with awesome hiking, multiple waterfalls, and a lake with concessions and a great beach area. To be honest, we spent most of our time on the front porch enjoying the view. Great place to unwind and unplug. Plan to stay again in the future.

So Relaxing & Clean & Comfortable

We found this home to be relaxing and a perfect fit for our family. Location was very close to Hanging Rock State Park where we hiking several trails in. Hosts are the owners and have described the home perfectly. Beds were good. Full kitchen with everything you need for a full meal prep. Had a crockpot, night lights, football, and games. Has 2 living rooms one without a tv for games, reading or conversation. Cell service and internet was excellent. A very comfortable home.

Nice get away with family

The farm is very nice and peaceful. Very convenient to hanging rock state park. Lots of hiking and outdoor activities nearby! The house is beautifully updated but still has that old farmhouse feel. Lots of amenities and well stocked. Owners are very responsive and if we return to area will not hesitate to book again!

Gorgeous!

Our family get-a-way was everything we had hoped. Beautiful home that was perfectly appointed with modern updates but historical charm. The house was impeccably clean and had every detail we could hope for and could have possibly needed. Owners communicated just before our stay that the washer was not working well so we could plan accordingly (still usable but tricky). Property was lovely with a great view of Hanging Rock. We spent most of our house time on the front porch. Our dog loved the walks to the creek and despite the heat, just wanted to be outside. This was my first time exploring the area and can’t wait to come back to visit the park again. Thank you!
