Make yourself at home in this relaxing 3-bedroom Patton retreat. This one-story layout home features a king bed, queen bed, and twin bed, perfect for a family, group of friends, or romantic get-away. Enjoy the accessible bathroom with a no-step shower, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, washcloths, and hair dryer. This adorable, highly rated home is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay including central air conditioning, central heat, electric heated fireplaces, fully equipped kitchen, and a free washer and dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets. Enjoy free off-street parking for 3 vehicles in the driveway with a carport, and large truck/trailer/toy hauler parking along the tree line.

We're happy to suggest local spots to check out such as excellent trout fishing in Chest Creek, which is walking distance (less than 50 yds away from Shady Pines) and short 10 min drives to our other great local attractions such as Rock Run ATV park and Prince Gallitzin State Park. We are a short drive (25 mins) to Penn State University-Altoona and (45-50 mins) to Penn State University-State College, where you will find the Bryce Jordan Center for concerts and other events and Beaver Stadium for Penn State football games. Feel free to reach out for directions, suggestions, questions...because as you know, the locals have all the good info!

The home from the minute I opened the door was cozy, clean and very comfortable. Host was super friendly and easy to work with and answered all of my questions before booking. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are staying in the area.

We had a wonderful stay! Mary Beth was incredibly communicative and accommodating and truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She even made sure we knew where the cleaning supplies were so we could keep them safely away from our toddler. The home had everything we could possibly need, including games, snacks, condiments, comfortable couches, and cozy beds. It really felt like a home away from home, and we would absolutely stay here again!

What a wonderful “ home away from home”. After a long day of travel, as soon as we walked in we were able to relax. The property was exactly as described and extremely clean. The a/c was set at a comfortable temperature so we did not need to wait for it to cool the house down. The house was stocked with everything needed and extra supplies were available. We have already recommended the property to other family members and will go back ourselves. We highly recommend if anyone is looking for a place to stay. Thank you Mary Ann for a great place to stay!

Our recent visit to Shady Pines was an absolute delight, marked by warm hospitality and scenic outdoor adventure. Shady Pines offered a welcoming retreat where every detail contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The home was clean and well appointed, and Mary Beth is an exceptional host.We spent a day at Prince Gallitzin State Park, known for its expansive landscapes and well-maintained trails, the park provided the perfect backdrop for hiking. We look forward to returning to do some more hiking and fishing at Glendale Lake. We would highly recommend Shady Pines.

This is by far the best vrbo rental we have had. The house is maticulous and the owner provides so many extras like coffee, spices, bathroom personal items….you name it. Correspondence was excellent. We rented it in order to go to the Penn State game. We hope to go back someday even if it is just to enjoy the house.

House was great! Need to add a gas grill and fire pit. Also for four wheelers should have a hose for rinsing off the machines at the end of the day. Marybeth was easy to contact, close to Rock Run, fuel, and stores. Will definitely come back. Very conveniently located.

Great place to stay!

We went up to check out an atv place near by and decided to find a house to rent instead of a hotel and we are so glad we did! Had some early breakdowns so spent more time at the house then expected but it was perfectly fine. The house is on a nice, quiet corner lot. The inside is spacious and very welcoming! Even though we didnt get to ride much we still enjoyed our time. We plan to come again and will definitely stay here!
