Koppla av i vårt 3 sovrum och 3 badrum hemma på den lugna sidan av ön Curacao, utanför byn Westpunt. Vi är belägna i ett gated community på Marazul Dive Resort. Anläggningen ligger på en klippa som möjliggör vacker utsikt över havet och solnedgången från vår balkong. Det finns två trappsteg med enkel tillgång att hoppa / dyka i det varma vattnet i Karibien. Den gemensamma poolen är omgiven av vackra blommor och palmer. Vårt hem har nyligen renoverats och nymålad med 3 sovrum och 3 badrum vilket ger en rymlig och privat tillflyktsort. Anläggningen ligger på en idealisk plats för dig som vill vara borta från de mer trånga områdena.

Wonderful place!

We started at Marazul four years ago and have gone back every year. We absolutely love this place.HOWEVER - this life isn't for everyone. It is a quiet resort that does go to bed early and there aren't lots of restaurants or nightlife in the area (there are some great restaurants just not lots of them). If your ideal vacation is to spend lots of time snorkeling/diving, reading books, lounging on the beach, and enjoying the sunset with a home-made cocktail in hand, then this is the place. This property - first time we have stayed in this unit and it was fantastic. Owner was very communicative and helpful (not that we had much that we needed!) Loads of room and the upstairs porch was used a ton. Steps to the pool and the snorkeling along the wall was great too. Definitely a place we would go to again.

Friendly and peaceful

The house was very nice. Loved the deck and patio. We had no difficulties. It was lovely and easy to find and restaurants were nearby. We enjoyed snorkeling in front of the resort. There were some days that it was too rough for a 71 year old and a nine year old to relax and snorkel there, but there were multiple beaches within a 5 to 10 minute drive that were amazing. The fish and the beaches were beautiful. We would have loved a second week to explore more of the amazing beaches. My granddaughter really enjoyed the iguanas and the neighbors really enjoyed watching her with the iguanas. The pool was very nice. The neighbors were super friendly and helpful.It was a long ride to the other end of the island, we found that a benefit. We didn’t love the ride but loved the quiet at our end of the island.

Great place to relax after your adventures

Comfortable and clean with all the conveniences. Nice beds, great sized fridge, easy to prepare meals with kitchen cookware - even a crockpot!

Paradise beside the ocean

Diannes’ place had all we needed to make our family stay at her unit perfect! We were there 14 days and not much wind, but that is the weather! We asked for 2 cribs (playpens) and 2 high chairs, for the one year old twins, which was at the unit when we arrived. Would not hestitate to stay again! Thank you Dianne

Fourth stay here, and there will be more

Fourth stay in this unit, sixth time total at Marazul. Just perfect, unit is wonderful, diving out front is good, nice restaurants nearby, GoWest dive shop is under new management and better than ever. We have typically done two or three dive weeks to the Caribbean a year for the last decade, and Marazul and Diane's unit particularly just keep calling us back.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Great location for snorkeling and diving! This location is far away from the bars, shopping, nightlife and this worked perfectly for us. The unit is nicely decorated, clean and well supplied. You have everything you need for cooking. The owner is awesome to work with! Bring bug spray as no see ums and mosquitoes will find you. ;) Keep in mind you are about 30 minutes drive from the good grocery store.

West end charm

What a terrific time we had at Dianne’s townhouse. Had everything we needed for a great stay. We slept well in the comfy king size bed down stairs. The unit is very roomy which we loved. We stayed in a different townhouse on a prior visit and felt a little cramped. Not in this unit though. Even with the holiday weekend of Easter it was still quiet and very relaxing. We enjoyed the upstairs patio a lot. We felt the cool breeze in the evening and would play dominoes. It’s perfect for beach lovers. Most beaches very close. My husband said if we return he would like to stay in this unit. Thank you so much for your quick response to my many questions Dianne. Thank you for everything!

Stay here!

This was the perfect place. Not knowing a lot about Curacao, we lucked out by choosing Marazul Dive Resort. We were close to snorkling and a few restaurants within walking distance. Other residents/visitors were very friendly, as well as the iguana that ate lettuce from my hand! Regarding this specific cottage.... it was perfect for four adults. Just know that HOT water is not available in all three bathrooms, but the water was warm enough to be enjoyable. We couldn't have chosen a better place!

Nice comfortable place. Very homey.

From start to finish our experience with this unit is five star. Very clean. Well appointed. Comfortable. Great area to slow down from life’s crazies and met several nice residents and renters. Good place to escape. The diving here was the best other than Watamula— did several boat dives which were nice but the marazul house reef delivered. Don’t be intimidated by the steps. It’s WORTH it.

Great stay - nice property

We had a great stay at this property. The property worked out great for 5 adults. It was very clean and well maintained. We cooked many of our meals there, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Having the lower and upper patios was very nice. The main level patio was great for breakfast and lunch, while the upper patio was perfect for dinner and relaxing in the evenings. We very much enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in front of the property. The water is crystal clear. The pool was also very clean. The complex as a whole is well maintained and inviting. The flowering bushes are so pretty. Communication and booking with the owner was easy. We enjoy this quiet part of the island and hope to return soon.

Amazing family vacation

We had a great time at marazul. The place is better than it looks online. Right on a cliff overlooking the beautiful blue water and steps away from the pool, a perfect place to finish your day after all the adventures that the area has to offer. There are many beautiful beaches a short drive away and one that you can walk to in 15 minutes. We snorkeled with the turtles at playa piskado which is a 10 minute walk and cliff jumped at playa Forti which is even closer. We also hiked my Christoffel which also is a short drive away.This is definitely the best part of the island to visit which we realized when we met a family that was vacationing from their home in Willemstad. Sol food for dinner was great and we had the best night at shelterrock which is a 15 minute drive away go on Friday for coconut and karaoke night it’s so much fun my nephew won the karaoke contest. You can’t go wrong picking this place for a vacation and Curacao in general. We will definitely come back and stay at marazul

Enjoyed every minute

We had a blast, property as described. Kitchen has everything you need to make breakfast , lunch and dinner, love having the grill to use outside. Rooms are comfy, love having the patio area outside. That is where we spent most of our time at night and in mornings for breakfast. No AC in kitchen/living room, just in bedrooms. Windows do allow a breeze into rooms. Love having a pool just feet away and the walk down steps to ocean is awesome. Plenty of places to eat around this place. Small grocery stores aren’t far but their prices are higher than the ones in town. The one bathroom downstairs to the right does have a slight odor coming from drain but I think it’s a ventilation thing. It didn’t effect our stay, I would book this place for our family again. Loved all the beaches we went to , and we went to a lot. You will need a rental car to maximize use of this property.

marazul dive resort April 30-May14 2022

Great location. Right in front of pool, in front of ocean. Beautiful sunsets every night from the upper deck. Quiet area of Curacao. The resort is not crowded and we met friendly people who owned or rented the other houses in the resort. Easy access to the water. There are steps down to the water at each end of the resort. We snorkeled almost every day. Nice reef also turtles, eels, squid, and rays. Strong sun but with the almost constant wind it wasn't too hot. Two dive shops nearby. Go West diving at Kalki beach is a full service dive shop with boat dives. Sublime diving is right next door to the resort inside the Rancho El Sobrino hotel and does mostly shore dives. Ellis is a wonderful dive leader and instructor and is very patient and helpful. He also will give you pictures and videos of your dives. There are no markets in Westpunt. You have to drive 10 miles to Barber for markets. One downside are the mosquitos, bring repellent. All in all a great and relaxing vacation.

Marazul #4

For divers and others looking for a good resort for your money, Marazul is hard to beat. Comfortable accommodations, a nice pool and minutes to some of the best beaches, snorkeling, and dive sites on the island. This is our third time to Marazul and our first staying in #4. About the resort in general: 1. There are no services to speak of beyond the pool. If you are looking for a full service luxury resort look elsewhere. If you want a clean, comfortable place to stay and can manage making your own fun and getting around by yourself and at a very reasonable rate, you'll have a great time. 2. There is no restaurant on site but all units have equipped kitchens. Stop in Wilemsted to pick up food on the way. There are two restaurants within walking distance and also restaurants a short drive away. Not to be missed while in the area is Sol Food, run by Sunshine and David. Great food in a great atmosphere. Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, make reservations as it is always jammed. 3. You need a car, which can be rented at the airport. Westpunt is really at the end of the road,but its not a large island. About #4: Had a little issue with initially getting in (key was missing from the lock box), but a neighbor was able to use "WhatsApp" to contact Rene (manager) and we got the key within 20 minutes. Air conditioners are in each bedroom for comfortable sleeping but will need to use the fan in the main area if it's really hot (wasn't too hot in April and there was a good breeze most of the time). Unit was clean, nicely laid out, and very comfortable for our family. Two bedrooms on the first floor and one on the second. Unit was only a few steps from the pool area and had a nice ocean view. This will not be our last visit to Marazul!

Great overall but a few deficiencies

This is really a nice property and I loved the location. I will strart with the "bad". 3 bed 3 bath. Upstairs bathroom had a horrid stench 24/7 and essentially was unusable because of it. There is a closet off the bathroom that I did not use because of the stench. However I used the closet downstairs for the few things I needed to hang. Nice dresser in bedroom worked for everything else. The door closed on bathroom shut out the smells so I did not notice it. With other bathrooms I really did not miss it. Other issue is that there is no air conditioning for the main unit, just the bedrooms. That did make it hard to use the place esp in the evenings. The upper sitting room is useless (where the TV is) because heat rises and it was way too hot and muggy. Even with windows and breezes it was way too hot. We would watch movies on my kindle in the bedroom. We ate and played games on the porch because house was so hot. Nice breezes made this quite comfy. It would have been very uncomfortable to cook suppers but we only used it for breakfasts and lunches and ate out for suppers. If I had planned to cook much there, it would have been a deterrent. However overall we enjoyed it. Spent most of our time diving, swimming, snorkelling, sun bathing, and beaching (as well as cliff jumping). Great place right there to swim and snorkel , snorkelling better to left. Neat rock formations in the water near cliffs. I loved our place overall and very glad I went but not sure if I would go back without central air....maybe. Other wise stocked quite well. 2nd bathroom has the cold and hot water taps in shower reversed. I just thought they had no hot water. After I showered in my sons I realized the left tap is always hot despite being mismarked. No big deal. View from balcony amazing. I loved the ocean front of it. Really close to pool (though I never used it except for loungers): i rather preferred swimming. Stairs down to water easy to use for us but could be an issue for elderly. No beach at top, gravelly ground required beach sandals always. Iguanas were fun and you should see them when you give them grapes. You can jump off the stairs in places for minor cliff jumping. I never braved the 40 foot Playa Forti but with difficulty walked along top of cliff at Playa Abao (Greater Knip) and jumped off 30 feet, then free climbed the cliff and jumped again. Overall condo WELL worth the price. My 23 yr old son had the time of his life. He loved it too. Thanks Diane.

Richtig hübsches Haus in paradiesischer Anlage

Wer Curacao richtig kennenlernen will, ist in diesem Haus im Marazul-Resort am richtigen Ort! Die Gastgeberin ist super freundlich, hilfsbereit, hat viele Tipps parat & beantwortet Fragen total schnell. Das Haus ist wirklich hübsch, in sehr gutem Zustand, die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet & die Betten sind bequem. Für unsere Familie mit 4 Kindern von 9-13 Jahren war der Platz absolut ausreichend.Der Balkon & die Terrasse sind perfekt für entspannte Abende, der Pool ist in Hör- & Sichtweite, so dass ältere Kinder dort gut planschen können, ohne dass man ständig auf der Liege liegen muss - wobei der Platz dort auch sehr nett ist :) . Die Anlage ist in sich abgeschlossen, sehr gepflegt & bietet ein gutes Sicherheitsgefühl. Man kann viele Strände bequem mit dem Auto in wenigen Minuten erreichen, nach Willemstadt ist es eine knappe Stunde. Ganz phantastisch ist, dass ein paar ganz liebe kastrierte & tierärztlich überwachte Katzen auf der Anlage leben dürfen und dort von Menschen mit großem Herz von kittenrescuecuracao . COM liebevoll gepflegt werden, das hat unsere Stimmung etwas aufhellen können, denn leider ist das Tierleid auf Curacao unbeschreiblich groß. Es ist wirklich schön, dass hier aktiv geholfen wird und mit einer Spende kann man die Arbeit gezielt unterstützen.Zum Thema Moskitos: die kleinen Biester sind wirklich zahlreich, Aber handelsübliches Aut… & Eigenmarken der großen Drogeriemarktkette helfen 100%. AC braucht man dank Meeresbrise nicht :)

Curacao has some fabulous snorkelling and it is an adventure every time that we go. ( Even more so now that my swimming ability has improved!!)

We love the quiet nature of the resort and there are also plenty of activities in the immediate area. We are happy that the resort is located on a cliff which allows for some beautiful views. It has been really fun for us to vacation here.
