Great place to stay for a quiet vacation with family. We loved the lake. Spent time kayaking and fishing off the dock. Loved the screened porch. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans. We made most of our meals at the house. Enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the sunrise on the lake. Had great weather and 2 nights of campfires.

Perfect for a summer trip!

This lakeside cabin was the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of space for 7 people to stay and you can also fish by the lake as well. Be sure to bring plenty of bug spray!

It was a pleasure to have Victor and his guests at The Promised Land. They were great tenants and respectful of the cabin and surroundings. Sorry the visit coincided with this year’s two week deer fly season. You can always count on mosquitoes at night in the woods, thus the large screened in front porch.

What a lovely place to be! The pond through the window and easily accessible down the mossy path for swimming and floating.The kitchen was easy to cook in and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the window. For a real getaway, remote, quiet and relaxing, highly recommended.

The place was so serene and beautiful that it felt bad leaving the place. Spent 2 nights staying at Jane's place and felt so much calmer spending time there. Listening to the sound of leaves falling and the pond nearby helped calm the nerves and enjoy the view while sipping coffee in the morning. Highly recommend!

Gary and his mother were very pleasant and appreciative of anything done for them. They were respectful of the house and left it as they had found it. I would be very pleased to have them come again.

Overall, a nice stay. The property grounds are fantastic—lots of space for outside activities, and on the water with access to a few kayaks. Perfect for a summer sunny day! Inside, there are a few quirks to consider before booking. The cabin itself is filled with knicknacks, almost to the point or clutter. Travelers with young children may hesitate (we likely would have, if we had known). We also found some personal belongings (likely from other guests) in the bedrooms/bathrooms, suggesting the cabin hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned prior to our stay. Otherwise, guests have access to just about anything they’d need, which made for a pleasant and worry-free getaway.

Dear Jaime, Please know that the house is thoroughly cleaned every time someone leaves. Some things have been left in the bathroom in case you have left home without yours. I will remove them all. I appreciate your comments about the Knick knacks. It has been a long time since my children were little. I hadn’t thought that their presence might be difficult for small children. I thought they added to the cabins charm. I will put them away. I am glad that, overall you enjoyed your stay and that you appreciated the beauty of the property grounds. It is a beautiful and peaceful setting.

Absolutely wonderful! The cabin is spacious yet cozy, clean and welcoming. We absolutely loved the screened porch and spent every evening chatting and playing games out there. We went kayaking on the lake, grilled out, played outdoor games, sat by the fire with complete privacy. This property is nestled in by the trees and the lake. Jane was an absolute fantastic host. From booking in February right through our trip, she was friendly, accommodating and answered any questions I had immediately. We will definitely be returning. If you are looking for a serene, peaceful, private getaway Jane’s property is ideal. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Jane and her cabin.

I would be thrilled to rent to Janice and her friends another time. It was fun to think about them coming. They had just wanted a quiet place to gather the three couples and enjoy each other‘s company. I knew they were going to love this place from the very beginning. Hopefully they come back.

Lovely, spacious home with room for kids & adults. Having a view of the water and easy access to the dock was great for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Quiet and peaceful--a great escape!
